He definitely is going to get every opportunity in Jacksonville to be even more than that.

Yes, it's obvious what they plan for hm. Hoping a guy figures out problems he's had for years and ascends even higher is a bold strategy.

Worthy should be no where near our board for a trade up, or even at 28.  Do people realize he is 6'1 but only weighs 164 pounds?  What is going to happen to him when its snowing in Buffalo in the post season?  He cant block, he isn't physical, and his frame is going to have a hard time holding up to 17 game seasons.

There are literally guys who are big, with WR1 traits all running low 4.4 or sub 4.4 forty times...we need one of them, not a skinny guy who might get blown off his routes by the wind in Buffalo lol.

Nothing against Worhty, he makes a lot of sense for a team like Dallas.  But if we trade up for someone, it better be a top end WR1 type prospect.  Worthy doesn't have the frame for that kind of volume and work on all 3 levels of the defense.  He is better suited for a dome team like Dallas opposite a legit WR1 IMHO.

Very roundabout way to turn this into another "They should have built a dome" thread! 😜

  3. I don't think it's that complicated. McGovern is moving to center unless another option presents itself. Since no such option exists at present.. that is the plan.

But why would they move on from them?

I don't think they will without a very good offer, but they have a lot of dead cap from cutting Russ. They're entering into a rebuild and they may not be there by the time they draft a new QB so getting picks to drafts guys to go with the new QB might be desirable to them.

Going to assume you are a small business owner? As am I.

Pretty sure 95%+ of these comments are geared towards big corporations. I was a manager at one and its just how people describe, though I am not in my business.

In the last 20 years, I have worked at two small companies.

The first small company paid slightly above average and had normal benefits. The "CEO" who was very good friends with the owner repeatedly told people that they would not just be let go and he'd "have a sale" before letting anyone go. He married the woman in marketing. He, his wife, the COO and the head of the support department were a little clique and routinely abused their positions. I ended up leaving for the 2nd company.. they wanted an exit interview and grilled the hell out of me why I was leaving. Didn't think anything of it until the next month when they let 90% of the company go and realized they must have thought I knew something.

My current small company is amazing. No PTO limit, high salary, low stress work environment, ability to be completely remote (I go camping for weeks at a time and still work), owner is hands off.

Long story short, small companies can be and often are just as bad. Although, I think it's more like to find an awesome small company than an awesome big one.

On the topic at hand.. the PR department doesn't know the guy is getting cut.

The legal tampering period starts the 11th and FA the 13th so he has a little time. And I know he said he plans on being under the cap by the end of next week.

But I have Football ADHD dang it!  Make some moves so we know what's what!! 🤣

There's always therapy in the mean time.. like the whole mean time.. every minute..  and maybe after for a few decades.

Not sure there will be any takers with the cap he carries. My guess is he’s simply cut

I suspect, if they can find someone, it will be a Wilson and a 6th for a 7th type of situation. A team preparing to draft a QB next year, might take the cap hit off their hands for pick and the long shot that Wilson can actually play football.. or the jet Blue discount that comes with him.

Nope. That $6.7m is money that we never pay if we cut him. It is the unguaranteed portion of this year's salary.

It isn't that I'm mad at Von. Not at all. It is that I genuinely think he is finished. Watching him last year was painful even watching him move let alone try and rush. He had two nice plays vs the Steelers - that is true - and I'm suddenly asked to believe that is proof he is back. I'd love to be wrong, but I think he is toast. My guess is he ends up replacing AJE as basically the passing downs only defensive end in 2024 and ends up with 4 or 5 sacks maximum. I think, sadly, it was one serious injury too far for a guy his age.

It is more advantageous to cut him next offseason. They suffer a much higher penalty in 2025 cutting him this year than they do in in 2026 cutting him next year (Post-June). The total dead cap + this year cap hit of keeping him and cutting him in 2025 is not much more than the total dead cap of cutting him this year.

Personally, I think keeping him and hoping that he can provide something at some point in the season makes more sense. The injury he suffered tends to take more than year for younger guys to recover fully and achieve previous ability.

Nah. If they cut him with a post 1 June it saves us $6.7m this year. But it isn't happening. They are keeping him and doubling down. They better have a backup plan though because I think he is toast.

It saves 6.7m this year to have to pay it the next. That money doesn't simply not have to be paid. It makes little sense to cut him beyond the "RAWR I'M MAD AT VON MILLER SO GET HIM OFF THE TEAM AT ALL COSTS" thought process

    2. Von Miller is on the team in 2024. I know we all suspected that anyway, some of us hoped it wasn't necessarily the case but the Bills are doubling down;

Why would anyone hope that? His dead cap would be higher than the cost of him being on the roster.
