  1. Some good arguments from both sides on this.

There will no doubt be some playoff games that turn out to be laughers which won't add much on the entertainment side.

However I think it is worthwhile to give some of these smaller programs their shot because even though they will get smoked more often than not in the early years of this format there is a chance that the recruiting field will even out a bit as better talent filters down to other schools once they can start using 'x amount of years' in the playoff as a recruitment incentive.

Could take a while but will be worth it in the long run if it evens the playing field a bit which would definitely add more to the entertainment side of college football as a whole.

  2. Anyone heard anything on or off the record on tailgating?

I know some who have gotten tickets for the upcoming season mentioned that they noticed the Bills have changed the lot open time to 10:30 now instead of 9. If that turns out to be true it sounds like a push to force more people inside to spend their money instead of eating/drinking their own stuff outside.

I just found Beverly Hills Cop 2 to be a bit boring.

Eddie Murphy over played his character and a lot of the jokes felt like a rehash from the first movie.

Also, what happened to the crappy blue Chevy Nova? He should have still had that car. It was part of his persona.

Yeah, they definitely rehashed a lot of the same jokes and the decision to move away from him being down and out with clothes/car was strange seeing the contrast of that with the upscale Beverly Hills is part of the original movie's charm.

It wasn't great but personally I enjoyed it enough where I don't think it scratches the surface of a worst sequel ever list.

As for recent sequels, I caught quiet place 2 over the weekend and thought that was well done. There wasn't a whole lot to the story but Krasinski is really good at building suspense.

  4. When we got our first VCR in the mid/late 80s I would bring it to my grandmas house and record films off HBO or dub rentals with her VCR so I had quite the collection and watched a movie or two almost daily as a teen.

That being said I would love to have exact numbers on all the movies I have watched multiple times to know the answer to this question myself.

I would guess it is something along the lines of a lot of the films mentioned above like original Star Wars movies, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, Die Hard films, Scarface.... or maybe Lethal Weapon or Terminator movies?

In any case if I had the real numbers I am sure it is some insane amount of time spent re-watching things over and over.

I wonder how many season ticket holders never go to a game, but only get seasons so they can sell individual games and make a profit.

I can say that there are at least a few.

My family has had season tickets for 40+ years passed down from my grandmother. Over the years I have gone to dozens of games in those seats and there are always different people directly in front of them and directly next to them. Almost always fans of the opposing team as well.

It would be nice if you could resell to only Bills fans but I'm not sure how that would be possible on an open market ticket resell site.

  7. Serious question...

Can Etienne make positive yardage behind bad run blocking?

I watched zero Clemson football games so I have no idea if his production is more along the lines of an Emmitt Smith who had holes so big he was rarely touched before the second level, or more like Barry Sanders who more often than not had to find ways to make yardage with very little blocking.

Tampa is a team full of grizzled vets........and now a SB ring..........I doubt they will see the value in playing that hard in the regular season after they just went from 7-5 to winning the SB.

Chiefs are still the best bet.

I hope you're analysis proves out this season as the last thing I think any Bills fan wants is even more accolades added to Brady's resume. A Tamps 5-12 season with a lot of Brady temper tantrum meltdowns would be great television this fall.

To me the AFC just seems like a tougher road to 17-0 for any team in that conference.

  9. Tampa looks to me the most realistic out of the 5 based on their schedule.

Their division shouldn't be much of a challenge now that Brees is gone. They play the dumpster fire NFC East and then have the AFC East for out of conference.

Obviously there are always surprise teams that rise and fall each year but based on what we know from last year it seems like the Bills, Packers and Seahawks are the only teams that might give them trouble.

We are down to two concerts left from what was cancelled/moved to this year.  Barenaked Ladies in July was moved from last July.  Airborne Toxic Event was moved from last March to March of 2022.  And we just bought Chris Stapleton tickets for this July.  I'm most curious about how they might do social distancing when all these seats were sold from before the pandemic.

If you are talking about Lakeview I am really curious about it too.

I saw Ryan McMahon say in a press conference a couple weeks ago that they were planning on shows there this summer but with social distancing measures that would cap out around 5k people.

I can't imagine how that would work with the shows that were rescheduled or how that could attract any new acts when you take an 18k venue down to that size. Just doesn't seem like it would be worth the effort for the artists. Or at least not worth it for the quality of acts that place typically supports.

Good friend of mine with pretty accurate sources tells me he has reason to believe Star Lotulelei is gonna get cut. Based on what he shared with me, seems very possible.

From a cap perspective, does it make sense? I didn't get the feeling he was a likely candidate for release.

Tell that greasy friend of yours that I said he is full of 🟤🟤🟤, (as usual).

  12. I lost my Aunt this past Monday who was also a huge Bills fan.

She lived in south FL for the past 40+ years and never shied away from flying her Bills flags high and wearing the colors even deep behind enemy lines in the heart of Dolphins country.

I also lost my mom, another huge Bills fan, 3 years ago next week. There always seems to be a strong bond over the Bills between family members who grew up in WNY. It is hard to explain if you didn't grow up around it but I think many of us here experienced Bills football Sundays as a big family event and have lots of memories created around it.

Sorry for your loss. I have to believe Bills Mafia will be even stronger in heaven.

Haven't been out to swing my sticks around in close to 10 years but when I was playing more regularly Harvest Hill in Orchard Park was easily the nicest I'd ever played on.

Crazy to see how far Cuse hoops have fallen.  Feel like its been years since they have been relevant.

Didn't Syracuse win the national championship just last year?

I mean they played the last game of the NCAA college basketball season and they won it, so that seems pretty conclusive to me. 😄

They dont have to use the same model as the sunday ticket. Your not wrong, but the all or nothing package model does not need to be invoked. In fact, that model is already problematic. To make big money, Amazon could adopt the a la carte pay per view model more typical of major sports features. They have 112 million subscribers and would likely get a boost. I also think the red zone channel, and more prime time games has reduced the marketability of a high cost "package" type bundle .

This is an excellent point that I have been considering leading up to where the rights to streaming, or the new Sunday Ticket type access lands.

As we move more and more to a streaming world, and more people cut the cord, my hope is the NFL will see that selling a package that bulk includes "all" games minus black out restrictions doesn't make as much sense. As people move away from traditional TV but would still like to be able to enjoy watching their choice of NFL games how can they justify a big price tag for a Sunday Ticket type package when every SNF, MNF, TNF, local broadcasts and the few Saturday games would not be included? I suppose for DTV it made a bit of sense as you had to have a DTV subscription and would still be able to watch all the Sunday Ticket blacked out games but the cable subscription TV model is dying for sure.

I'm not confident that they will be able to be forward thinking enough to come up with something that makes sense but my hope is they will come up with something that makes sense instead of these old antiquated models.

How was it not evening out? Were they going back on the treaty and not allowing us?

When it came time for them to "show us theirs" they used every delay tactic to ground our pilots and make it as difficult as possible for us to fly our missions as well as restricting where we were allowed to fly even though we let them fly over every single base in the US they chose as well as the capitol.

This resulted in them ultimately having much more imagery over us than we had over them.

How are spy planes -- which would be at high altitudes I presume -- superior to spy satellites with better cameras?   I can go to Google Maps, select satellite view, and zoom into my house and not only see the arbor at my back gate but also the part of my garden pond that's not obscured by the tree next to it.   Wouldn't spy satellites be even more technically advanced?

That is a good question. Satellites have smaller windows for capturing images as they orbit through a position and I would assume are much more prone to cloud cover. The planes can fly defined patterns with cameras constantly firing off high resolution photos. I assume this would give them much more coverage than an orbiting camera but there could be other reasons.

This kind of speaks to my original point though. Why give them unfettered access to our country when we don't really need the same in return anyway?
