No, the other owners will turn on their own in a heartbeat if the person becomes the black sheep of the league and threatens the long term economic viability of the sport.

Who do you think forced Donald Sterling out of the NBA?

Tough to compare the NBA, and the way Silver and those owners run that league, with the drunken fratboy free-for-all of NFL ownership.

Isn't this basically the same reason the league forced Jerry Richardson to sell the Panthers?

But if the Bills met Tampa in the SB & they beat Brady wouldn't that be some sweet tasting revenge I'm just saying !!!

That might be better than a filet mig non with some king crab legs on the side a bottle of wine & sex after words !! 🤔

Well maybe not that good but it would be really good 😆

That is the ultimate boom or bust scenario.

A championship is a championship no matter what but beating Brady*** for one would make it a little sweeter.

On the flip side it would be one more dagger that SOB put through the Buffalo fanbase heart.

  3. At work this week everyone has been passing around their order of who they'd like to see win the Superbowl from most to least so I thought it might be interesting to see what the consensus is for Bills fans.

Well I guess 2-14 as I assume everyone will have the Bills at 1.

    For me:

    Bills

    Raiders

    Titans

    Bengals

    49ers

    Eagles

    Rams

    Packers

    Steelers

    Cards

    Chiefs

    Bucs

    Cowgirls

    Cheaters

Titans are probably a little high for a lot of people here because Vrabel is such a $*&#$!!! But when I was in Nashville a couple years ago for the Bills game the Titans fans were pretty cool so I wouldn't mind one for them if Buffalo doesn't make it.

Know a good sports bar in Disney? I’ll be in Hollywood studios that day!

There used to be an ESPN Zone bar/restaurant in the Boardwalk resort area which is walkable from Hollywood Studios.

Not sure if it is still open though as I know they did close a bunch of those down a while back.

There was an LA Times article last week that defined a book hoarder as someone who has over 1,000 books.

    Does digital hoarding count?

If so I am a book hoarder several times over. though the space it takes up is only what the small external hard drive occupies on my desk. Well that and I guess wherever my kindle happens to be.

Out of curiosity, what is your favorite (or top 3) sci-fi movie of all time?

I like the genre a lot, but find most offerings in this category are not well done.

HBO has been playing this movie called "VOYAGERS" mercilessly for a month or so now.  It's a really interesting idea and could have been a fantastic movie, but like so much Sci-fi, just isn't particularly well done and it misses the mark.

It kind of represents the genre for me, though of course we also have all time greats like 2001 and Forbidden Planet, so there's that as well.

That is a pretty tough question as these kinds of things tend to shift a lot. Forbidden Planet is a great choice. It is an amazing story with pretty decent effects considering it was made in the 50s. 2001 is also great as is most of Kubrick's stuff.

You are right in that so much sci-fi misses the mark but I tend to consume most of it regardless.

As for my list I'm sure I will be forgetting some stuff but off the top of my head:

Aliens - The original is awesome too but the sequel just seemed to really get the suspense/action mix and I recall really being scared for those characters the first time I saw it.

Gattaca - Probably not a very well known movie but I thought they really nailed the concepts and the performances are great.

The Matrix -  This one probably has some recency bias as I just watched it again last week for the first time in a long time but the script and movie really is a masterpiece. I know it has reached the status of being a cliche of sorts since so many films have been derivative of it over the years and it is parodied so much. However forgetting all of that and getting right back to the core of that story, and the ideas it puts forth, you can see how monumental it was at the time.

Like I said I'm sure I am missing a lot but lists like this tend to change a lot depending on the day of the week.

6 - Special Teams - If you only had to watch one play in this game to know how it went, just watch the McKenzie kickoff return before the half. McKenzie found a way to trip in the open field and then fumble the ball away, with no defenders within 5 yards of him. On a drive that could have setup the halftime double punch and make this an entirely different game, all the McKenzie haters watched in slow motion as their wildest dreams came true. Also, if you needed more of a reason to understand how off this game was, Bass missed two FGs, one that got caught by the wind and off into the stands

To me this is the play that really sealed the game as a loss. Bills D was getting dominated on the ground and the Colts chewed up tons of clock but the O had been playing pretty well up to that point outside of the two bad penalties that killed the first drive so there was still the feeling that the Bills could win it in a shoot out. After that fumble/score though it was pretty evident that the wind was out of everyone's sails and we were in for a long second half as fans.

  8. The emotional investment we put into our teams rarely pays off in the long run.

Every single year every fan base, except for one, has their season end with disappointment.

The question is why with the odds so stacked against do people continue to love/follow their teams? I guess that would be an interesting study for human psychology.

  9. With my Iron Maiden avatar I feel compelled to share this in the Dune thread.

It is a video to the Maiden song about Dune that someone created using footage from the original film.

Thought it was pretty well done so enjoy.

This may be a very ignorant statement, but serious question.

Why even have live rounds on site? Period. Sorry, not blaming any actor for this tragic accident. It should be the role of the safety professional to properly educate the people using the prop guns. I’m honestly blown away by the complete breakdown of safety processes in this story.

I have been trying to rectify this question in my head as well. There would be zero reason to have any live rounds on a movie set at all.

The only thing that might make sense will be that it could end up being similar to what happened to Brandon Lee where they had prop bullets for a gun loading scene and somehow a piece of one of those lodged in the barrel so when the blank round was fired there was actually a projectile forced out that ended up killing him.

If it turns out to be an actual round that was loaded into that weapon then I'd think someone will have to be held criminally negligent.

  11. The 80s version is a fun movie though a little campy. Never watched the SciFi channel mini series version.

The new one is excellent. Feels like a much better adaptation of the book. Only downside is it ended abruptly with a good amount of story left to tell. Like mentioned above it would be nice if it was already in production so we would know it was on the way. I'm not even sure it has been green lit yet so hopefully the box office is decent enough for that to happen.

    So, what should we do?

This may be too simplistic for a lot of people but for me if there is a song, movie, actor, comedian.... that I don't like then I don't watch/listen to them.

There are definitely artists who rub me the wrong way that tons of people love and lots of shows/movies that give me negative reactions. In those cases I just avoid them going forward but in no way do I see a benefit in making everyone give them up to suit my personal preferences.

Maybe others feel differently, but I don't really think he has a great voice for broadcasting. Every time he calls a big play, his voice goes up into a squeaky, pre-pubescent octave that is just not pleasant to listen to.

I'm all for the Bills finding a new "voice of the team" as we enter this new era.

I agree. I just can't imagine his call on a potential Super Bowl win will move the needle at all as far as improving the moment.

    Nah. I agree.

He does not have a voice for radio.

I have been thinking about this lately. For all of us that lived through the 90s team run Van Miller is forever etched into our memories for his epic calls of legendary Bills games/moments. It is so strong that for me, and I assume most, Van is the official voice of that era.

That being said, in 20 years or so will Murph really cut it as the official voice of the Bills era we are just entering? For me I don't think he will ever measure up to the moments, especially if the Bills finally win it all with Allen.

But I wouldn't be surprised if someone got on to your thought as well.... or can even see a call to cancel Tush, Tube Snake Boogie, or Pearl Necklace.
Ha, now that I think about it ZZ Top really did have a flair for the sexual innuendo in a lot of their tunes.
