You are assuming that the people that enter into the system will provide enough funding for what they, and especially the multitude of Baby Boomers as they age and no longer pay into the system, consume. And it's entirely likely that routine checkups will become mandatory, given the big push for preventative care. That will be a drain on the system, as the majority of people currently don't see their doctor regularly. The problem is, no one knows exactly how this will work. But experiences from Canada and England show that socialized medicine isn't working. And no government program has ever cost what they've said it will cost, and you usually have to multiply by a factor of 3.

My advice? Lots of sunscreen with a high SPF!

Let me retract my "the Pro Bowl is a joke" statement and instead say that while the majority of players who get in deserve it, several do not and get in based on reputation/popularity. Peters was an example of the latter last year.

Their plan was to play Walker at LT, while developing Bell. Now it appears they're ready for Bell to start at LT. So to say they had no plan in place is wrong. And even if they didn't have a plan, spending $10M/year on a player who isn't worth it isn't a smart plan.

Why would the Bills be worried enough to start Bell? The word is that they want Bell to play LT, but his back threw a wrench (hopefully temporarily) in those plans. As for cutting Walker, that's just crazy talk.

I think that the critique of Peters being a dominating run blocker but average pass protector are pretty spot-on. That being said, spending $10M/year on a guy like that is stupid, unless you plan to run most of the time, and to the left.
