It's time to start that comeback. INT for TD?
Sure
-
did it really take a pro to see the Bills had the worst O-line in the NFL?
No...that's my point.
-
We'll be complaining about RW, Brandon, and probably DJ next season when they're struggling. Nothing will change.
This is the last season for me. no improvement and they will at least lose one fan...
-
I guess the pros called it right when they predicted the Bills had the worst O-line in the NFL...you would think the talent evaluators and professional personnel men (brandon, guy, modrak, and staff) would've seen this coming a mile away.
-
I'm not sure how much more I can take...It seams like the season is passing us by again. Pretty soon detroit and Houston are going to make the playoffs and the bills will still be drowning in mediocrity...
-
Our OL is getting owned! ..again
Are you surprised?
-
the best I've had comes from Ben's Chili Bowl in Washington D.C.
I think Ted's hot off the charcoal grill with chili, and onions comes in a close second

I think that Trent is a good QB with potential to be great. Look we all know that Schonert had to go, we all know that Dick is not the long term answer and that he had to learn the ropes by sitting behind JP. Those items can seriously affect any players growth, let alone your QBs.
Personally, I think he is still going to get better. It's few and far in between that you find QBs becoming stars in the NFL in their first, second or even third year.
I don't agree with you that Trent will be great, but I do agree that he's not necessarily the issue. It's a combo of things that kills the Bills:
1. Too predictable offensively...allowing teams to take away their two biggest threats...they have to get creative and find ways to get TO, Lee and Roscoe the ball
2. Jauron is a football conservative...and others know it....he coaches it into his players offensively and defensively...he will make the conservative decision 99.999% of the time...outside of a first 1st qtr wrinkles he's thrown in
3. The O-line is still too inexperienced, and too thin at this point
-
it still chaps my @#s that we traded back into the first round to get JP.
-
But rather the fact that we don't know what the problem is. Is it Edwards? Is it AVP? Is it the line? Is it Jauron?
I'd say it a lot of Jauron (coaches to not lose), a lot front office (who turns-over an entire O-line and expects to succeed or keeps turning over the keys to crappy coordinators), a little bit of scheme, and a tiny bit TE. TE, not so many Bills before him would probably do well on another team with different coaching, a decent O-line (which in time should be good), and a different scheme.
-
lol. that was pretty good.
the pic of levitre was funny...4XL, tall.....then someone says he's 5'11''
-
you could put Randy Moss on one side, TO on the other, Lee Evans in the slot, and adrian Peterson in the backfield, and somehow teams would still manage to shut dow this Jauron coached team

Below is an excerpt of JP Losman's bio from the UFL website. I thought the highlighed section below was hillarious...
"Height: 6-3 Weight: 218
Born: 3/12/1981
College: Tulane
Hometown: Venice, California
Professional Career Highlights: Drafted by the Buffalo Bills 22nd overall in the 2004 NFL Draft; in Losman’s first professional start he led the Bills to a 22-7 victory over the Houston Texans in 2005; in 2006 he threw 19 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 16 games, with 300-yard games against the New York Jets and Houston Texans; was rated the 11th best passer in the NFL with a 84.9 passer rating in 2006; on October 28, 2007 Losman led the Bills on two consecutive scoring drives, including one that ended with an 85-yard touchdown pass to WR Lee Evans; was a member of the Buffalo Bills from 2004 to 2008."
It's like they claim JP's defining mement as a pro was on Oct. 28th when he led two scoring drives, one for a TD and one for a FG.
His defining moment was when he fumbled away the game winning turnver for 6 points against the Jets last year. Put that in his bio!
-
Based on how we played, why wouldnt he think that? Nothing wrong with this statement, I mean our offense is LITERALLY that easy to defend and that predictable, just as its been for the last 2 years.
Maybe Jauron has the Pop Warner offense he wanted?
-
The details were however in the Peter King comment about how often the Saints played 6 DB's. Maybe Trent is right and they are taking TO and Lee out of the game. Maybe AVP was right in blaming himself for not making adjustments. The adjustments he was referring to was probably not running the ball more. Same mistake we made in the SB against the Giants. Hopefully Miami plays the same D and Beast mode goes wild.
Maybe us fans don't know anything and DJ and Trent know a lot more than we do.
Sucks to admit it but Trent check downs were probably the right thing to do on the passing plays that were called. The TO effect seems to be working on the other teams D strategy. Now Buffalo needs to take advantage. Turn Marshawn and Jackson into Thomas and Riddick. The passing game will come along when they fear our run game.
There's no reason to not get the ball to your playmakers. You HAVE to find a way to get it to Evans or Owens...
-
To be honest, I don't care if he doesn't throw it deep much. I'm more concerned that he's not getting it to TO or Evans. You get some shorter stuff to them and they'll make the plays. I've just had enough of the 1 yd outs to Derek Fine.
If you get playmakers the ball in space, short or long, they will make plays for you. Last monday night, they kept showing TO highlights...many of them were him taking short throws and making them into big plays....so get him the ball, no matter if its long or short.

Everyone likes to grade Keith Ellison as inadequate. So what is the solution?
Lets bring in Brandon Spoon.
For the most part, this defense is playing well. How can you point to Ellison as a problem? If the offense stays on the field against the Saints, they have a chance, and probably win. Against the Pats, I don't see how a team coached by an Ivy League, big brained coach can allow Ben Watson to beat them on the same play for two touchdowns. The scheme and coaching adjustments shoulda helped compensate for that.
everyone keeps talking about trading this player or trading this skill player or that skill player and things will get better for the Bills...the two biggest weakness on this team are it's inability to win the war of the trenches (mostly on offense this year) and it's coaching staff.
this isn't syaing ellison is a great linebacker...it just means you can plug a Ray Lewis into his position, and it wouldn't make a difference.
-
One, you always say I am delusional, crazy and stupid every time I have said our lack of WR involvement is going to be a big problem...now you flip flop and say the same thing here after trying to bash this very point I made in another thread this very week...
And two: You didnt answer the question (as usual)...so I will ask again:
Who is the most responsible for the lack of pass attempts to TO and Lee?
A) AVP
B) Trent
C) Lee and TO
Simple question...
D) Dick Jauron
-
Wow, what a jerk! He gave short answers to provocative questions instead of saying what he really felt.
And did your Cowboys friend watch the game last night and notice how many times the MNF announcers mentioned TO when Dallas had the ball? Especially in reference to how much Romo misses TO...on the field?
It was sad seeing all those highlights of TO making plays for the cowboys...and to think that he's only a decoy playing for the Bills.
-
Harrison sadly is right, TO is a clown and he gets by on his antics. If he put half the effort into his on field play as he does with his "twittering" and his reality show, the Bills offence might look like an NFL offence
The guy is just going through the motions, you can tell by his attitude on the field and his press conferences after. I realise he doesn't want to say things that are going to make headlines, but the answers he was giving yesterday are enough to show what he is really thinking, and thats that he is not happy here now, but he doesn't want to show it
Yep...TO's effort is what's bringing this offense down...
As for his press conference, who cares...if he woulda answered any of those questions honestly, and with answers we would probably all agree with, he would be plastered all over every sports media outlet as a malcontent....stirring the pot as usual.
-
what about letting his guys get beat on the exact same play, two times in a row....both of Watson's touchdowns in this yrs Monday nighter....
or how the Bills didn't play the sidelines in Dallas' comeback win 2 yrs ago on MNF
or
how he alows the turnover prone Losman to roll out on a pass play, while we are nursing a 4th qtr lead against the Jets
or
how we keep drafting DBs when the team has 10 other pressing needs.
I can keep going, but this is starting to depress me

I thought I saw this and recall that an announcer made some comment on it. Given Trent's inability to play against the 3 - 4 defense Gregg Williams decided to run almost exclusively the 3 - 4 especially for us instead of their normal mix with the 4 - 3.
http://www.buffalonews.com/452/story/811043.html
"The Saints usually play a 4-3 defense, but Williams has employed a lot of 3-4 this season. Given how the Bills have struggled with the 3-4 scheme, it's no surprise that Williams used it almost exclusively on Sunday."
The struggle continues.
sad thing is Edwards said the Saints presented them some things there were not prepared for....uhh, doesn't everyone in our division run the 3-4?

- We are 1-2 and we faced the Pats at Foxboro and the red-hot Saints. Is it just me or I don't feel the need to open my veins or pull a Thelma and Louise just yet.
- Personally, I don't care if T.O. catches 10 or no football per week, and I don't care if 90% of Edwards' passes are checkdowns, I just care about our record, not how many ESPN highlights we have. If McKelvin doesn't fumble we are 2-1 and nobody freaks about the style of our offense.
- Speaking of which, since checkdowns seem to suit Edwards that much, then FINE HAS TO SIT. No matter how good of a blocker he is, he won't make this Oline that much better, might as well have someone who can catch. Depth should be : Nelson, Stupar, Fine.
- This is what I have to say about Roscoe Parrish: Where is Chris Watson when you need him!
Go Bills
Marc in Montréal
Problem isn't the record...the problem is the Bills are not playing good football. they can't pull a complete game together and something always seems to look bad. They either stink it up in the fourth qtr against the Pats, let a bad Bucs team pass for 300+ yds and almost get back in the game, or they put together an offensive turd against the Saints....I guess it's just enough to keep us hanging on....like the 7-9 records.
I would feel better about the losses if they didn't come the way they did. Fact is, what we see is what we're going to get....
