  1. Yesterday's showing was promising...think about how hard it would be to defend in the red zone against a jump ball to Nelson on one side, and Evans, and TO on the other. Similar to what the Patriots and the cardinals do with the spread in the red zone. If they start doubling Nelson, things start to open up for other guys. They need to capitalize on this during the season.

  2. but is anyone else hoping that they keep using the no huddle? They looked a lot better in it this week than last week, and despite the first stringers not being able to convert for a TD we moved the ball well, and won the battles for TOP.

Trent seems capable of making good decisions, and showed that he could chuck the ball (that early deep pass to Evans), pick apart defenses for short gains, show consistency (going 10/10. Can't really complain there) and showing he knows when to run (what beautiful play on 4th and 1)

I know my optimism gets the best of me every preseason, but even without T.O. we did relatively well against a more defensive team.

Yep, they need to keep using it....but they need to ensure the players are in good enough shape to keep going. Langston and a few of the other guys looked gassed yesterday. It's not going to work as well if the offensive players wear out before the defensive players.

  3. They need to keep Roscoe....and start him in the slot reciver's role. I disagree with the Bills coaching staff's fascination with Josh Reed. The guy is average at best. His strongest attribute is blocking. It was just 2 years ago most fans wanted to see him gone due to him having the dropsies. We've seen what we're going to get from Reed....and he's never going to be a gamebreaker. We might as well try to get anohter gamebreaker on the field with Roscoe instead of Reed. .

  4. Chris Ellis looked pretty good when he was out there. He also looks like he is the same size/speed as Maybin. Do I not know what I'm talking about, or did the Bills FO forget about him too on draft day?

I thought he looked good too...not just rushing the passer, but he had some hustle plays this week and last. Hopefully he can carry that to the regular season.

  5. And Maybin's agent joins the board. :o

If he wants to be in camp...He tells his agent to make a deal...His agent works for him...NOT the other way around.

    Sure....

My point is why all the pressure on the Maybin camp The Bills have just as much power to improve their offer as Maybin has to accept a lower offer. Other franchises went a little over the top trying in order to sign their draft picks early...Look at Mark Sanchez and Darius Hayward Bey.

  6. I've got a novel idea....how about the Bills signing him for a little more just to get him into camp? What's a few extra million from a franchise worth $750M or whatever it is they're worth. If Maybin plays well, then it is money well spent. If not, chalk it up to the price to compete now-a-days.

I'd love to see him in camp like everyone else, but there are two sides to this whole negotiation thing.

  7. roscoe is a great punt returner who sucks at eveything else. he can't get separation at the line, and he dances around to much with the ball

What makes you think he sucks at everything else?...he get's 1, maybe 2 of those WR screens called a game... and his punt returns. He is able t get plenty of separation from the slot position.

My point is we really don't get much from Reed other than a good blocker and a some OK possession receptions. They need the ball into the hands of folks that scare the other team. Reed doesn't do that.

  8. This season I really hope the Bills try to get Roscoe more touches. Just think if they had him, Evans, TO, and Lynch on the field at the same time....there's a possibilty for a big play every play.

Unfortunately, the staff seems to thinks Reed brings more to the table than Roscoe. Parrish brings the possiblity of an uncoverable slot reciever...ala AzHakim when he was with the Rams, Dantel Hall with the Chiefs, and Wes Welker with the Patriots.

I think by DJ sticking with Reed as the slot reciever, it reflects his conservative attitude again. Just a couple of years ago, it seemed as if Reed had the dropsies, and everyone wanted him gone. Now he's an average player at best.....so put Roscoe in and let's see what he can do.

  9. Same old bills from the past decade and a half. We can't score touchdowns and our season is probably going to be over by week 8. Then we will see TO eat trent alive and quit playing after the first drive.

If I am wrong and we are playing meaningful football into hopefully November at best I will shave my legs and become a stripper.

Cheer up dude. It's no fun being disillusioned before the season starts....

  10. What did you see from Saturday that gave you the impression the offense has the potential to

be potent this year?? Unlike the Kelly years, they are running the no huddle now based on the

shakiness of the O line. Quick passes is all they can hold up for and based on yesterday, there will be

no holes for running game whatsoever. Its only 1 preseason game, but the line has not been stellar the laste

few years WITH an all pro left tackle and Mcnally was even here and he was one of the best O line coaches.

They have 5 new starters on the line an O line coach in Sean Kugler that I believe is in over his head.

To say the offense will be potent is a joke.

I agree with you that the line looks like it has a ways to go. What is encouraging is the fact that the no-huddle gives the QB an opportunity to adjust at the line. Trent seems to be a pretty smart guy and hopefully the Bills can leverage that. Once they start sustaining some drives, the big plays will start to open up. With that being said, and the fact they have plenty of weapons in Lynch, Evans, TO, and Roscoe, I think this offense has has the potential to be potent.
