  1. Patriots front seven >>> Bills nascent offensive line. Patriots offensive line >>> Bills front seven. ...old story, yet true.
  2. As already mentioned elsewhere, NFL Network, aired the agonizing end of the Falcons game and the insipid post-game wrap up instead of the start of the Bills, so the first several minutes couldn't be seen. It's replayed on Tuesday, so we should be able to see the beginning. To me, the Bills offense seemed decidedly less ratty than last week (even without Owens), but the Bears offense and Jay Cutler looked hopeless. The second half of these pre-season games is pathetic, and should be totally ignored. Reminds me of an amateur dance school recital...argghhh... Bobby April has some work to do.
  3. I've heard of double chins, but Lardo has about 3 folds on the BACK of his neck. He looks more like a hippo than a human. It looked like he was starring in the opposite of the Matrix scenes: Instead of everything slowing down to a crawl and Keanu Reeves moving fast, it looked like everything else was moving fast but Lardo was standing still. Jabba the Tackle.
  4. Dominic Rhodes has never been used on punt return teams in the NFL. He's made some nice TDs on kick offs, though. His forte has been mostly to push it in from short yardage near the goal line, which he did again last night. The Bills are just looking hard for someone/anyone so they can trade Parrish. I wouldn't get too excited about Corey McIntyre becoming the next Cookie Gilchrist. It was pretty much Pop Warner by then. I would get excited about Shawn Nelson out of the slot in the red zone. I hope that becomes a very common sight. Lankster may put the last nail in Youboty's coffin. The Bills said that Bryan Scott's knee sprain isn't serious, but said nothing about Florence's? If Florence is long-term, that might save Youboty. Personally, I don't care much for either F or Y.
  5. Nah, it's all about Xavier Omon and the long schnaaappers.
  6. You're well on your way to defining yourself as a stalker. Doing research on a football board poster...kind of weird to me. Just saying... Try girls, or get a pet.
  7. Drayton Florence is a TD machine, and McKelvin guesses wrong pretty frequently, as per now. McGee is pretty solid, as was Jabari (spilled milk). Julian Edelman may be the surprise WR to watch. I think they go to the TEs in the red zone, and Alex Smith is looking as good or better than Chris Baker. I think Benjamin Watson is kind of in the doghouse.
  8. Not that I owe you an answer, but I follow interesting football wherever I can find it. If the only football you do is Bills football, you're missing almost all of the good and interesting stuff. I was damned by birth to care about the Bills, but that does not subsume my love for seeing the game played well. Any other questions?
  9. If you don't understand the technical defensive scheme jargon, read this primer: Jene Bramel on defense
  10. Must be nice to have thinking coach... Belichick on defense
  11. Here's your little crew: Pitchfork and Torches Society - group photo
  12. I love to hear from the Pitchfork and Torches Society! Denk you veddy much!
  13. Definition of TRUE Bills fan: Doesn't mind losing because it's a strong tradition. Favorite motto: To err is human. Absolutely incredible ability to rationalize. Hates seeing excellence elsewhere, because it belies the fallacy that mediocrity is OK.
  14. Purportedly, Edwards will be reading the defense at the line and frequently (as appropriate) changing plays according to his read of the OTHER TEAM'S defense. Practicing against Fewell's familiar crew is not nearly the same. Neither Owens nor Rhodes has ever played together with Edwards under these kinds of real game-like conditions. The O-line goes without saying. Trent needs to see foreign defenses, not the same old, same old. If Schonert doesn't trust Edwards to be on the field behind his newly assembled line, that really speaks.
  15. This thread is about providing inexperienced players with precious game time experience. Learn how to read.
  16. Which QB is running an offense with lots of new twists and personnel? A) Brady/Patriots B) McNabb/Eagles C) Edwards/Bills
  17. Vick plus Owens would have created a cosmic worm hole all the way to Toronto.
