  1. Is there any greater argument for the damage that concussions do than the incomprehensible babble that spews forth from the majority of former NFL player's mouths when they are put in front of a camera? Rhonde Barber and the few articulate former players of his ilk serve as the exception to prove the rule. Aside from the fact that on average I would guess that the median IQ of players upon entering the league is probably south of that of the general population, on retirement these guys are downright bricks. Was Sapp even speaking English in that interview? How does this crap get the ratings to stay on the air?

  2. Not much of a breakdown really. Sponge Bob is a hard worker. A team player. Mr Krabs likes money. He's a steeler. Patrick sleeps under a rock. Don't know how he sleeps there without suffocating. Squidward looks like the white guy with a big nose who has his cheeks full of a hot dog.

I was hoping to hear something a little more insightful than that. What a let down. I don't think CJ has much of a future as a movie critic.

Maybe this will add a bit more context.

  3.

And for anti-religious nuts looking for an excuse to bash the other side.

While there are certainly religious overtones to this issue, and there are certainly people who take a stand on Tebow based solely on these religious overtones, his suckatude is pretty undeniable regardless of his faith. Unfortunately, due to his faith, there are those that are blind to his suckatude, and take every insult against his abilities as a personal affront to their religion, as well as those who will take a shot at Tebow for the sole purpose of taking a shot at his religious beliefs, and by extention those who share his beliefs.

I am not a religious person. I am cool with live and let live. Aaron Rogers, Drew Brees, hell, even Frank Reich by all accounts are very religious people, and all are infinitely more talented than Tebow in terms of their ability to play QB in the NFL, and yet despite their religious beliefs they are no where near as polarizing. I didn't root for or against Frank Reich because he was a Christian, I rooted for him because he was a Bill. I'm sure, because of his religious beliefs, that there were people who rooted more vigorously for him than what his abilities realistically accounted for, especially because he stood in such stark contrast to Kelly as a person at that time. Admittedly, Tebow is a competitor and was a great college player and has had a few shining moments in the NFL, but the reality based on his body of work is that he is NOT the answer to any team's QB question, as evidenced by the entire league leaving him unemployed. This in a season where nearly a quarter of the teams were scrounging for QBs. Insisting that he is the answer at QB for some team at this stage of the game is not a rational argument. It may be a visceral one, an argument fueled by the last fumes of "Tebowmania," but is not a rational one.

  4. And on this note, I have been wondering....what if Fitz and Chan were kept and they brought in Pettine? I felt that if our defense could have been salvaged, that it alone would have helped every other aspect of our team including the offense. Especially with the tone/momentum our offense had at times.

    I'll take that one:

If the defense is better, Fitz would have more chances to throw the game away with INTs at the worst possible times with horribly underthrown noodle arm "deep" balls, Fred would have more turns because CJ would be even more tired, and we'd have more opportunity to punt from the 35 yard line. The DC wasn't the only problem.

  5. "ESPN informed its staff about the layoffs on its internal website, and encouraged employees to contact their supervisor with any questions."

Classy. I wonder if they get this internal website for free, or if $5.15 per month was deducted from their now defunct paychecks for the right to read about the loss of their jobs. How gutless.

  6. Because its a prescription drug he's lacking prescription for.

dextroamphetamine/amphetamine - One that happens to have a street value and is considered a drug of abuse, much like narcotic medications such as oxycodone or vicodin.

  7. I don't think you should reward those who draft "well" or better than others... if they're so good at it, they don't need more picks or other compensation.

I think the point of the OP is, if a team is good at identifying and cultivating talent, free agency "punishes" those teams by making it harder to keep those players. However, the league already awards compensatory picks at the end of various rounds, so...

  8. I'm not sure what demographic they're trying to keep from turning the channel by having hot country singers introduce football... maybe NASCAR fans, but you'd think in that case a singing sheep might work better...

I thought this was who was going to replace Faith Hill:

    Oh, wait a minute...

    David Coverdale?

  9. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.

Basically our treatment of Brady here is low-brow and sophomoric, like elementary school kids calling one of the boys a sissy.

I really don't think it's what you say it is but I guess we'll disagree and I'll follow your lead and drop it too.

And you don't have to apologize just like we don't have to apologize for saying Brady's a big sissy.

Yes, I agree, we're acting less like sexually insecure homophobes and more like kids who like poop. :D

  10. Grammar nazis: for when the topic of discussion just isn't as important as being anal retentive.

Your rite, their was alot of ... I can't do this anymore, it's too hard... Are you seriously suggesting that there is profound information hidden somewhere in this thread? Information that was somehow obscured by the grammar police?
