  1. I was looking around the CBS sports website for Draft analysis opinions from the draft last weekend. I came across a mock draft they published today for 2013 already. I don't know whats worse, the fact "experts" are putting together mock drafts this early, or that CBS has the Bills selecting #2 overall in next years draft. Have they paid attention to the offseason? Link: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/mock
  2. I thought the same thing. I'm assuming he meant Vince is more of a running threat. lol
  3. I knew someone would bring this up What are you talking about? Darryl Talley actually was on twitter saying he would be a benefit to the Buffalo Bills. Bills 101 ‏ @Bills_101 @DarrylTalley So are the #Bills nuts for bringing in Vince young, or would he be a benefit in #Buffalo #BillsMafia Expand Reply Retweet Favorite 20h Darryl Talley ‏ @DarrylTalley @Bills_101 he'd be a benefit. He can run. Fitz can't. Sorry, but it's the truth. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Darryl Talley made a big deal last year about Vince Young not knowing who he was by face. Then talked about how Vince Young has no respect because he didn't know him. Darryl Talley may have been great, but hes not a NFL Hall of Famer, like he acted like he was: https://twitter.com/#!/DarrylTalley/status/26490885151657984 Then Vince Young responded to him with this: https://twitter.com/#!/VinceYoung10/status/26497808471166977
  4. Great offseason but we have to follow it up on the football field.... which I think we will with between 9 to 11 wins this year, with a manageable schedule.
  5. Should have been a late 2nd or early 3rd... good value
  6. theres a reason they are called highlights. I've watched him in games. Hes a terrible route runner and drops open passes.
  7. god awful pick after 2 very good picks in round 1 and 2. I've seen a few NC State games, it always seemed like he dropped 3-4 balls a game. He has speed but dude always seemed to run poor routes. First bad pick of the draft for the Bills. Would have much rather drafted Sanu or waited till round 6 to draft Greg Childs. Makes it worse we traded up 2 picks for him, he would have been around in round 5 or 6. He has at least a year of learning how to run routes. If they wanted a fast guy, Jarius Wright or Keshawn Martin would have been a better pick. Not happy with this pick at all I hope he proves everyone wrong, but I think hes only capable of running straight deep lines.
  8. In response to the Maurice Claiborne wonderlic score being released, Goodell released a statement today: "As we near our annual college player draft, please be reminded that certain information obtained during preparations for the Draft, including personal and family details, results of drug tests, scores on the Wonderlic test, and the like, are strictly confidential for club use only and are not to be disseminated publicly under any circumstances" Looks like, if teams release this information to be publicized it can result in penalties: "You should be reminded that disclosure of inappropriate private or confidential information concerning draft-eligible players is conduct detrimental to the league and will be met with significant discipline when a violation can be established." Goodell also goes on to say: "Bear in mind that the publicly-disclosed information is frequently inaccurate, incomplete or misleading, and often results from an effort of an individual to advance a self-interested goal." So according to the league, most wonderlic scores released are false and done with one's own self interest. Looks like you can't believe everything you read. Claiborne's score might not be a 4; it might be worse or it could be higher. The original report of Claiborne's wonderlic scores came form Pro Football Talk anyways. The same people that kept reporting that their sources told them "Mario left Buffalo on the first night," and "Mario was going to visit other teams before making a decision." 9. I can't believe some of the things said in that recording. Wow I hope it stops with Gregg Williams, or the integrity of the game may be in jeopardy.
  10. Its a good thought. But if that happened, I personally would rather draft: #22- Cordy Gleen- OG/OT- Georgia #37- Kirk Cousins - QB - Michigan State #41- Alshon Jeffery - WR - South Carolina or Brian Quick - WR - Appalachian State (Im stuck on which one I like better. I also like Mohamed Sanu) #72- Bruce Irvin - OLB - West Virgina then use both 4th rounders on CB's. 5th rounders on OT and OLB. 6th round ILB. 7th round WR/DT and OLB.
  11. Russell isn't the only one visiting with the Bills today. He is there with Trent Richardson, Mike Adams, and Chandler Jones Here is the link: http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-3/Richardson-headlines-top-draft-talent-visiting-Bills/0219468d-f1e1-4923-84c6-4387e1538e3c
  12. Eagles and Sporting News Corresponded reports: Geoff Mosher ‏ @geoffmosher Reply Retweet Favorite · Open Working on numbers for Bell's deal, but @Tim_McManus is reporting 5 years, $35 million. Guessing he'd have to hit mucho escalators for that.
  13. I still had alittle hope he would be resigned. But I am assuming he got a good paycheck with the Eagles. Probably alittle too much for being injury prone. But he has lots of potential.
  14. That's a good question, I personally do not believe most players take the wonderlic seriously. Remember when Ellis Lankster put "meow meow meow" for most of his answers and people questioned his character Your other question, no he can't read. He has a learning disability. However, he played with a very complicated playbook at LSU and did a wonderful job. He has played this game all his life, the wonderlic test has no correlation to whether or not he can read an NFL playbook. As far as I'm concerned, the wonderlic scores are mainly looked at with QB's and OLine.
  15. Great post Zulu. Agree with everything you wrote except the assumption in your last sentence I don't know if your just uninformed or your just plain ignorant with your post. Firstly, do some research. Google Maurice Claiborne, not hard, and you will see hes had learning disability questions coming out of high school. Secondly, Every high school and college has an academic program to assist students with learning disabilities. These programs make it possible for people who have literacy problems to get through high school and college. In elementary, middle school and high school most refer to it as "special education" class. Where students receive 1 on 1 attention, which my 3 younger brothers received help. All three of them have major reading and writing disabilities but successfully graduated from high school. They received enough assistance to learn how to make their disability less noticeable. They do not take the same classes as the regular student in most cases, they have a separate course schedule program. Instead of them receiving the standard NYS Regents diploma, they received what is known as the Local Diploma. Often times the high school program is a joke because some of the teachers just don't care so the student doesn't get the necessary help they are seeking. In some cases the services are extraordinary and make a huge difference in the literacy capabilities of the student. However, most the times teachers aren't very helpful and will do the work for the student instead of guiding them, which doesn't help them. People are born with learning disabilities because their brain either is neither fully developed or the wiring somewhere is hindered. In college, there are programs such as the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) program. HEOP provides services to students with both financial and academic disabilities that would not be able to attend under their present circumstances. It is set up almost exactly like the high school program, however; usually the HEOP programs do a great job with providing academic services for students that have reading problems, writing problems or logistic problems. So no your logic and reasoning is flawed, just because Claiborne got through college does not mean LSU was "doing something less than legit." Anyone that has spent time in the educational system or does the research is aware of these programs. Lastly, LSU has a very complicated playbook. He succeeded on the field in both high school and college. He is a top 5 prospect because of his talent not his intelligence. You don't need to be a genius to cover someone and read an offense, especially if you have played the game all your life. Look at Darrell Revis, Sean Taylor, and Patrick Peterson among the many more NFL CB's that have scored a 10 or lower on the wonderlic. And how about Hall of Fame Quarterback Dan Marino scoring a 14? Or even Michael Oher who received special academic tutoring all his educational career and had a bad wonderlic score but now hes one of the best LT's in the NFL and does a great job pick up defensive signals and adjusting.
  16. after Luke Kuechly I like Donta Hightower. But I also like Bruce Irvin alot. Has good speed and he can lay the lumber. Then Josh Kaddu, good sideline range and tackler. If Courtney Upshaw could play 43 OLB then he would be my favorite. Hes my 2nd favorite player in the draft behind Justin Blackmon
  17. All three of my younger brothers have learning disabilities Also, absurd comments? I have only spoken up against the insults and questioned the moral and ethical nature of some people on this forum. And there were a few people that responded by saying my post was great. The absurd comments came from those poking fun at and further insulting someone with a learning disability. Everything you said are very good points. And I haven't said otherwise. My argument is with those that were poking fun at and further insulting the kid with a learning disability. And there is no "if he has a learning disability" all you have to do is alittle research and you will see he has one. From just a simple search on google: http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/What-you-should-know-about-Claibornes-test-score.html http://gridirongrit.com/morris-claiborne-proves-college-athletes-arent-always-students-scores-four-on-wonderlic/ I agree, his intelligence may be an issue. However, hes a top 5 talent and has never struggled on the football field. You don't need to be highly intelligent to play CB. But certainly, it is a concern In the end the wonderlic scores of Darrell Revis, Sean Taylor and Patrick Peterson didn't seem to stop them. They all scored a 10 or lower.
  18. Thank you man. I agree, I would pick either DeCastro or Luke Kuechly at 10 if they are available. If somehow Kalil, Blackmon or even Claiborne where to magically get to pick 10, then the pick would be one of those guys. I like Floyd, but something scares me with his character history and the history of Notre Dame bust. The WR is pretty deep. We can grab a WR in round 2 and maybe a mid-round WR. The OL and LB class seem to be weak. Plus other than Claiborne, I just don't think any other CB is worth a top 15 pick. Gilmore is the next best CB, but his hype only started a week or two ago, before that he was considered an early second round pick. I guess his performance has dropped off the past few seasons. But you can't ignore the experience
  19. I find it funny, your the only person that found that post to be bad. A few others commented on how good of a post it was. And one person responded by on the argument that Bills fans might be questioning Claiborne ability because we don't want another mistake. If you believe that it is "ok" for people to sit here and poke fun and continue to insult someone with a learning disability, then no you do not have good character. I find it funny you consider me to be the bad guy for speaking out against it. I bet its also safe to say you would judge someone to speak up against bullying to being "absurdly sanctimonious" because they are "somehow being a better person than others." And you insult me because I'm proud that my moral and ethical nature would restrain me from making the types of comments that were made in this thread? Your the one who responded to a conversation that did not involve you. And you responded with an insult and immature "spell check" comment, which is indeed pathetic and a small personal slam. In response I defended myself. I never directed any comment at you saying you did not have real parents or weren't raised with discipline (maybe you could infer from my wording that's what I meant, but it was a slam to the people in this thread that were responsible for the comments about Claiborne). And yes you are an internet tough boy, stirring up arguments over the inter webs when my comment pertained to you. Maybe I shouldn't have said you have no life, that was uncalled for. However, yes I called you: immature and pathetic because that's exactly how you responded. Have a good day sir [NOTE: If you want to respond then send me a message, because I'm done responding to you here. Its a waste of energy.]
  20. Earlier today in the shoutbox, there were a few people discussing that WGR reported that Jason Brown has a FA visit with the Bills. I haven't been able to listen to WGR today and tried looking for updates but can't find anything when I search google. Only reports I can see is that he is visiting with the 49ers. Anyone listening to WGR today, was there truth to that report? Brown would provide solid depth in the interior of our offensive line if that report was true.
  21. Come on- read all of my post. Do I have to repeat myself for a 3rd time? If you look back through the thread, someone asked "Is there a federal law that protects test score secrecy?" Once again, I said "yes, the FERPA laws protect student privacy." Also, of course if you hired an agent, it wouldn't make you an NFLPA member, lol. But yeah, it probably would make more sense that the CBA doesn't cover draft eligible players until draft day. I thought I remember something about when a player hires an agent and declares for the draft, once they start going through the draft process then they are covered under the CBA. Its something, we could ask an expert like John Wawrow. But in the end, invasion of privacy doesn't require any promise to protect privacy anyways. I mean the defense could argue that there was no duty to care and that Claiborne assumed the risk of declaring himself for the draft. However, the fact that he has a learning disability is a private fact and has no business to be released. Its kinda like when a marketing firm uses a players likeliness or image to promote its product, the player can sue for invasion of privacy intentional tort of appropriation.
  22. what? you clearly have either not read this thread or you just absolutely do not make any sense (maybe your drinking?). 1.) I never said you poked fun at someone with a disability, I said you are condoning it. and 2.) I haven't insulted anyone. Your the one that responded to me trying to insult me (because I had a typo) and supported the guys that were poking fun at a guy with a disability. In essence you were condoning it by responding negatively to my post. You had no business responding to my post, but you had to go out of your way to correct a typo of a word that was spelled correctly throughout the rest of the post.
