Speculation and discussion on Bills final roster cuts
boyst replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
The whole dump on Elam thing is legit. McDermott can coach CB'S. he got a lot out of some underwhelming guys and I really wanted Bradberry here. But, it's too early to give up on Elam for anything less than a quality player and a 3rd. The prob is CB's don't have the value to trade for LB or OL like we need. If anything wait until the deadline and package him up for a 3rd -
no, i try not to watch hick football. i stick to real conferences where they actually play with heart and grit. 🤣 i followed the guy because he is from a nearby town. i met my wife years ago and in passing she mentioned she used to train karate with him. he was a younger quiet kid, very nice and passive.

What do you all think of games being canceled?

The funny part is the NFLPA wants to increase player safety but don't want to increase the amount of rostered players. This would take a portion of the money away from the vets, opportunities for veterans to be on teams since team will field more wildcard younger guys, and ultimately make the whole thing harder for a vested player. It's amazing they were able to increase the practice squad size. -
Wrong. Klein is a coach. Players call him a coach. And old man. The guy knows this defense. Can coach it on the field, knows the situations, and very capable of playing. We know his floor, we know his ceiling. We need a proven player in this system on this roster at the position. Dobson can go to the PS, Klein would be taken off of the PS. For some reason the MLB position this year is end over end different. Look around the league and you'll see why Edmunds made a boatload of money.

The only reply I have is I had heard it from a source we would all trust and some know.

Well to be fair... I prefer Mrs cartman's view of Canada to Wayne's
-
Don't even get me started on them. They're complete *****. Territorial, invasive, and destructive. 😡🤬

it's a good time to sell. he's a businessman. i don't know that he actually cares about sports or championships as much as the bottom line. anything is better than Canada. i'd rather send the team to mexico than canada.

i have suffered an aneurysm for this. i will bill you for medical costs.

There has been talk about this on many outlets of NFL coverage. The consensus among those with NFL backgrounds and actual experts was the preseason will not go away. They will likely adapt and change vs go away. The thought a few years ago isn't working anymore where teams hold joint practices. The players play too rough for a practice, the backups against any starters don't respect the other teams starters even when working on specific situations, etc. Instead the chatter has been teams work to coordinate preseason games similar to what Pittsburgh did against us. Gameplans and limited information are shared to make better use of the time aloted. -
Benford - Was he being showcased? (Opinion, not a rumor)
boyst replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
in some conspiracy type deal Beane and McDermott showcased Benford and buried Jackson and Elam and coincedently Elam stunk. The Eagles who need help think the Bills are willing to shop a starter and pay big so they take the trade and boom we get ourselves Lane Johnson at tackle! -
paul puzluzknee tips his hat to this, good sir

Chiefs Offense: Good Analysis of their Use of the 1-4 Set
boyst replied to Old Coot's topic in The Stadium Wall
NFL offenses are where defenses were 6-7 years ago. clinging to life from the old and past looking to develop new systems, concepts, etc. the speed of todays nfl athletes and ability has long surpassed many simple concepts. concepts that modern nfl head coaches are developing are doing really good things. -
2.wishful thinking. but wishful thinking i'd like OT Lane Johnson LB Roquan Smith I know it's far fetched but you asked.
-
the guy comes from a good background, has an interesting story where he could have his sights set on off field hobbies but to me this only makes him more appealing in todays kind of league where he will not become oversaturated with football. i'd like him.

If you count a move by our own team to cut and resign after injury designation or something - two. I could see us signing an OL, LB, or WR.
-
@Beck Water surely, early released players can begin talking to other teams or feel their market out. Or at the least teams know they can begin planning on adding talent with these players.

Oh, it's both good and bad. He's better than given credit for here because most people on this board have the knowledge base of middle school football or 6 years of Madden. He is good, but he is a system LT. If I am GM I plan a replacement by 2025.

Just wondering. Has Jason Peters ever played MLB? Free agent crowd looks thin.

Dion Dawkins has physical upsize.

I liked him in Carolina. Not terrible.

His dad was RB coach for us at one point. Lured to Michigan to coach and sway his son to sign there. All of this is a faint memory and I'm only 67% sure of it.

The multiple offers issue is also very stressful. Childhood friend went undrafted, after being projected a 6th or 7th. Had offers of signing UDFA contract to several teams and chose a team with a bona fide future HOF with 6-7 yrs experience by that time in the position he played. Said they chose the team based on his likelihood to learn in a great system, be somewhat close to home, and try to get his 3-4 yrs NFL experience. Ultimately, I think he did 2 yrs there, maybe 3 and went to another team for a year or two. His last contract, per him, was basically the team knew who he was and had known him since college - they initially offered him a UDFA contract - and needed camp bodies with experience, and PS guys who knew the system.
