I don't know a single gamer that wants the "eye," and the PS4 doesn't force you to buy it. Launch day exclusives mean very little over a console's lifespan of 5+ years, and the PS4 is going to destroy the XBone over the long term with the sheer amount of exclusives it will have.

And as for that slick UI that they show at large conferences? Umm, you know that hooks to your cable box with an IR blaster, right?

Who cares how it's connected, as long everything's integrated I'm happy.

As for the kinect, the simple fact that every Xbox one comes with one will open up tons of new avenues for developers to add features in their games. The stuff that some of these companies will come up with to use the kinect for will revolutionize gaming. Just give it a year or two to see what the kinect enables the Xbox to do. It's an amazing piece of technology and I can't understand why you wouldn't want it.

  2. I saw there were deal cheap houses/apartments for like 25-30k in some is the slummy places. Looked like they came with 2 car garages.

I'm still torn on what the "online" actually is. I still get missions from computer chars. It's not as "real time", "free roam" as you would think. I'm not talking about going up and robbing a few gas stations. In talking about jewelry store type heists that were in the storyline. Stuff like that.

All I've seen so far is stealing some meth or coke from one dealer and giving it to another. Kinda lame actually.

In fact, at one point what really sucked was I was in passive mode, yet some guy was killing me and camping me like crazy. Of course because I was in passive mode I couldn't do anything about it (shoot back) because in passive you don't have access to your weapons.

Got killed like 3 times before I could switch back. And of course my little pea shooter wasn't enough against his machine gun.

And if its online, why are there only 10 other players in the world when I play? Shouldn't there be thousands? How does that work? Anyone know? And if you've got a crew/group of friends that is more than 10, does that mean that your only playing with your group of friends all the time?

These are questions that I still have. Maybe you guys can call me an idiot and steer me to the right answers.yeah, but you'd have to make $400k. I'm currently at like $15k

To answer a couple of your questions, the cheap places you are talking about are only garages, not apartments. Heists will be added soon via a game update as will the ability to purchase more properties (businesses, houses, etc). If you have a group of people just make a closed lobby through the online menu and you won't have to deal with other people. Passive mode removes the dot for your player so the guy killing you must have seen you before you did so and chose to pick on you. Hope some of that helps.

Also, there just isn't the capability yet to have one giant persistent world where everyone always is. Logistically it wouldn't work either, not enough space, properties, etc. The individual lobbies are persistent but that's only until that lobby is no longer active.

  3. Perhaps you are correct. From what I observed first hand yesterday evening, there was little rational behavior noted before or after the game. At best, alcohol fueled optimism.

That's the way it's been around here since I've joined. For the first day or so after a loss there are a myriad of overly emotional, irrational posts and then it will subside usually around Tuesday night/Wednesday (on a Sunday game). My solution to that problem is to just not respond to the posts that seem emotionally driven, which is precisely the reason I post on occasion.

  4. So surreal watching some of these scenes over again....just watched the one where Walt is at the oncologist's office awaiting the news of his latest scans. He's got Skylar next to him, preggo to the max....Hank off to his left and behind him...Jr immediately behind him, and then Marie behind and to the right. The smiles and love that they show Walt when the doc gives them the good news...just contrasting that with where we are today...just WOW.

Surreal was the word that immediately came to mind for me watching the marathon. Seeing Walt as Walt and not Heisenberg is surreal. Hearing Hank talk about Heisenberg and seeing Hank with Walt is surreal. The contrast from 2-3 seasons ago to now is incredible, and to think that while we were watching this the transformation from Walt to Heisenberg (and the other characters from then to now as well) still all felt natural and not forced, gives you an incredible amount of respect for Gilligan, as if I didn't have enough for the man already. Amazing stuff.

Not that it matters much, but I've found it odd that the Eagles are getting credit for being the pioneers of the fast paced offense in the NFL yet the Pats* have used a similar speed offense for a while now (on and off, admittedly). Also, the lack of coverage about our fast paced offense has been confusing as well. I understand that Chip Kelly has a bigger draw than Doug Marrone, but credit should be given to all teams running this style of offense. Nice to see something about this finally.

  6. Regarding the Garage Scene, that was definitely the most intense I've ever seen Heisenberg. The chills that went down my spine as he told Hank to tread lightly were probably the most intense I've felt coming from a TV show. Gilligan is absolutely brilliant, kudos to him and the staff for making this show as incredible and enjoyable as it has been so far.

  7. This team has been absolute garbage for more than 10 years and even when those past teams put together a string of 4-5 games, you just never saw how they could keep it up. There was never a thought of wow, these guys have the talent to REALLY make some noise in this league.

Well, here we are after 1 pre-season game and I have no problem getting excited about what I saw yesterday. You know why, I have not been excited about this team in forever and it's a hell of a lot more fun to feel like this than being in the mindframe that the team is spinning its' wheels. I am not going to wait until they win the division or are viewed as a contender, I am going to fire up this train right now. Get ready folks, this team seems like it actually learns from its' mistakes and I have a great feeling about the coaching staff in general.

This is the fun part of being a Bills fan folks and if you can't bring yourself to be excited because you fear a letdown, then I urge you to let it loose. There will be ups and downs with this team but why not enjoy it while it's unfolding right in front of your eyes.....that parking lot for the home opener, ohhhhh myyyyyyyy

    +1

  8. If anything, this thread is evidence to two things: 1. Misleading thread titles create very misinformed threads and 2. A good portion of people around here read the thread title and post a reaction without reading the thread at all
