  1. Tannehill played a good game yesterday. He knows he's playing for his job. Maybe thats what Manuel needs. Marrone said before he likes players to have a chip on their shoulders. EJ has been coddled ever since he got here. I would bench him right now and make him earn his way back. At the very least they could give Orton more snaps in practice to send a message that they are considering making a change.

  2. If you want to crap on the running game, you also have to understand the defenses are now daring the Bills to pass. Opposing defenses are selling out on the run which makes it very hard to move the ball on the ground. Until Manuel can start backing the defense off the line of scrimmage, the running game will continue to falter.

    This^
  3. Like I have said already..if you cant see that the boltz let off the gas when they got up on us and gave our defense a break....I dont know what to tell you. We were never in the game

The defense had their first 3 and out after we scored to make it 20-10. There was still plenty of time in the game. You can say they let off the gas but I say it was a great defensive stand. The offense didn't respond.
  4. How about Spiller completely ineffective running for most of the game?

How about our defense getting NO pressure on Rivers for most of the game?

How about the big plays our corners gave up in the game?

How about the multitude of 3rd downs on defense gave up througout the game on 3rd and long?

How about our OL getting blown up on 4 man rushes throughout the game?

    ???????

    No he didnt

    .

How about our defense only giving up 20 points to one of the best quarterbacks in the league. 7 in the second half.
  5. So Jim Kelly decided to be critical of EJ in the booth....well hell lets just bench EJ based on that I mean Kelly is actually in a position to have ANY say on this team at all at this point.

Good as in managing the game and doing what was asked of him in game 1 and 2......he was smart with the ball...didnt turn it over....made decent throws. He didnt WIN the games for them

Guess what....he didnt LOSE the game for them today either....it was a group efffort

It wasn't a group effort by the Chargers today either. They have an elite quarterback and the jury is still out on ours.
  6. If you dont recognize that Rivers and the boltz took their foot off the gas at a certain point in that game then your kidding yourself (but we actually know what your doing.....you want to put this soley on EJ.....)

They took their foot off the gas because they didn't feel threatened by Manuel.
  7. As was our defense........or perhaps we should not talk about how pretty much EVERY ASPECT of the team was bad except for special teams?

This has been discussed already even before this game......EJ Manuel was going to have bad play to go along with his GOOD play (and he was good the first two games)

I dont think you will find anyone who will say anything positve about EJ's play today......but it was ONE game

I hope so John. I don't mean to be so critical but there were plays to be made today. I was expecting more out of Manuel. I understand it is a growing process but he needs to step up when it matters. Running out of bounds on third down doesn't help.
  8. Then why was this not the case in the previous two games? Because The O line play was OBVIOUSLY better in those games.

Not saying EJ played well today......but lets not act like this has been happening all season

We've.seen this last year in games against Pittsburgh, Tampa and the Jets. Until EJ can consistently make plays down field he is going to get pressured. He doesn't step in to his throws. I was at the game and there were plays to be made. He had people open on those two third down plays were he lobbed the ball to the outside. He has to work the middle of the field.
  9. I suspect this thread will be bust today. EJ was horrible out there. The O-Line wasn't much better but that was a catalogue of bad throws.

the o line was fine. Its no secret that opposing teams are going to bring pressure and force Manuel to make plays. He didn't do it. He is indecisive and makes terrible throws under pressure. He lobs every throw and it was a matter of time before he got one of his receivers killed. It was a gutsy effort by the defense to keep us in the game but ultimately we needed our QB to make a play. Enough with this crap about EJ only having to not make mistakes. HE NEEDS TO MAKE PLAYS.
  10. Art Wander was my neighbor for a few years before he moved to Tennessee. First time I met him I was playing hockey in the driveway with my son. Art came over to say hello and asked my son if he was a Sabres fan. After that Art when on to talk Sabres hockey with us for a while. The next day he knocked on my door and gave me Sabres tickets. He was a good guy. Never stopped talking about sports.

  11. Forgive me if I am mistaken, but wasn't Dysert's reputation coming out of college that he was wildly inconsistent, and made poor decisions (threw a lot of picks)?

From what I've heard he didn't have a very good line in front of him.
  12. Fair enough, but the situations are a bit different I think. Henderson was immature and plays a position that is a bit more brawn than brain. Mallett was seen as "not too bright" and a guy who made bad decisions on the field, and QB is a far more cerebral position, I think. Different kinds of head cases and different positions.

I don't know about the bad decision part. In 2 seasons at Arkansas he threw for 7,500 yards, 62 tds to 19 ints. Not saying he is the answer but if EJ bombs this year we are in serious trouble. We're going to need options. If EJ pans out then no harm done.
