Cecil Lammey covers the Denver Broncos but sees a lot of csu and had this to say fwiw
@CecilLammey: @K1NGDAN I like the way he uses his eyes to manipulate the defense, best QB at Sr Bowl this year, good under pressure, needs motion work
Saying he was the best QB at the Senior Bowl isn't saying much. I watched most of the game and he completed barely 50% of his passes and badly over threw his tight end who was wide open for an easy TD.
-
Geez people. He threw for 4700 yds and 39 tds. Not bad for an old man. It probably won't happen but if the opportunity is there you take it.

Yes....our D was awesome this year
Yes.....Schwartz did a great job with them after we were worried were going to lose our great D that was under Pettine the previous year........
bear with me.......
We are not getting a OC retread or 1st year OC that is bringing his his favorite guy as a defensive coordinator
We are getting Rex Ryan.....who is one of the greatest defensive minds to have ever been in the NFL......it is the one thing he can hang his hat on (and if you dont belive me go back and look at his defensive rankings)
My worry this year was never about defense no matter what happens......2 reasons
Rex Ryan would never allow a team he coaches to have anything but a outstanding defense
and
The defensive talent on this team is nothing short of incredible.....from DL.....to linebackers (with Kiko Alonzo also returning) to a very solid secondary
My concern is what it has been from the beginning.....who would the OC be because that is not Rex Ryan's strength...he took care of that by bring in a OC with deep NFC playoffs and one super bowl
We are ok....we really are ok. And it is ok to still love Schwartz and wish him well. I certainly do.
Great post. Let me add one more thing. Of the 54 sacks we had this year all but 6 were by the D line. I like Schwartz but he benefited from having the best D line in football.

" Are you kidding? Check out my breasts !!!"
-
I'm not on twitter. Just wondering if any players have tweeted anything regarding Rex being hired.
-
I'm ok with this. Rex is a character and his players love him. Can not wait to see him school Sully and his negativity after each Bills victory.

It's funny, the second Marrone quit he rose to the top of the list of available head coaching candidates. With each day since there seems to be more dirt surfacing to the point where he may end up getting blackballed like Ted Nolan did. Maybe 20 years from now a new owner will buy the Bills and Marrone will get re-hired.

Not sure what the definition of mediocre is. But, a 91-69 record after Elway retired using Brian Griese and Jake Plummer as QBs.Multiple playoff appearances including a 13-3 record during the same period. People also forget so quickly that he went 11-5 and had Washington in the playoffs before RG3 got hurt. Is he flawless? No! Is he a mediocre football guy? NO WAY
Agreed. People want to say that Elway was the reason he won 2 super bowls in Denver and that's nonsense. Elway was at the end of his career and not exactly in the best health. He was 11-22 with a pick and no td's in their victory over the Packers. He did throw for over 300yds against the Falcons but make no mistake it was Tyrell Davis and that dominate running game that won them 2 super bowls. Shanahan has made a career out of taking average running backs and turning them into 1,000 yard rushers, and in one case, a 2,000 yd rusher. Even when he was in Washington they led the league in rushing one season. So long as he leaves Shwartz and the defense alone and concentrates on fixing the offense I am on board.
-
I would rather have Grayson if he is still there. Petty did have a great game in the Cotton bowl though.
-
I'm leaning towards Shanny. I understand his 4 years in Washington were a disaster but you can't ignore what he has accomplished thru out his career offensively, especially in the running game. So long as he leaves Schwartz alone to run the d and concentrates on fixing the offense I am fine with him for HC.

I want Boyz II Men. I hear they are making a comeback.I want a leader of men......not a coach....
-
Charlie Wiess
I was going to suggest him as offensive coordinator but nobody wants a Charlie in the box.
-
I don't know how I'd feel about this. I still want the Bills to acquire Cousins. With Shanny on board maybe he could make it happen and develop him into a good quarterback.
-
Agreed. Promote Pepper Johnson to defensive coordinator and find a good offensive coordinator. The players like Schwartz and we need to maintain some level of continuity. This news makes me want Schwartz as HC even more. We need some freaking continuity.
-
Isn't he still under contract with New England?Jesus is just alright with me.
-
But if Polian did come in and hire Reich I would be on board, and why shouldn't I be? As GM he's had a combined 6 superbowl appearances and had the Panthers in the championship game in only their second year of existence. He is widely respected around the league and on his way to the HOF. If he thinks Reich is the guy who am I to argue?i wasn't disagreeing. I think most of us are on the same boat. The situation is just murky.
-
I didn't say I wanted him to be HC either. I only said I believe he would be an upgrade over Marrone.I don't need a coach who can appease the fans I need a coach that can coach. I don't want Reich because he loves Buffalo. I want a HC because he loves to win. I don't need someone who is besties with former players or former players who think they should have a line in because of an old connection. I don't need a former backup to be answering to his starter.
There are a lot of concerns about Reich bring here.
-
I don't know whether Reich would be the best choice for HC, but I do think he would be an upgrade over Marrone. Here's why:
1. He knows how passionate the fans are and how important the team is to the community.
2. If in fact Polian is hired they would have a good working relationship unlike the relationship between Marrone and Whaley.
3. He would have the support of former players and I'm sure they would be there for him if he needed any help.
4. He is offensive minded.
5. He's not a quitter, which became evident when he led the team to the greatest comeback of all time.
-
When he opted out of his contract.
-
Not sure that is true but if it were we could increase our sack total next year.
-
Best available running back
-
I'll take Erin Andrews. I've been f***ed enough by the Bills.
-
I'll go with Cousins.
