  1. I watched some old videos of Trent today on the internet. I was really impressed with how well he played. But more importantly I noticed that our offense was much more complex and harder to follow than what we have showed the last few weeks. I really think it has to do with Turk's comment that Dick wanted a "Pop Warner" offense. Again, let me make it clear that I am not saying that Turk was a good OC but his offense did look a lot more productive over the last few years than this garbage we are putting on the field. I know we sucked this preseason but thats not the point. I mean how many times are we going to come out in the same two back shotgun set!!!!!! How about soemthing new AVP?!?!? In addition the other problem is Trent. And this is hard for me to admit. I have been a Trent fan since he came. I thought he was a great value when we got him and thought he could really work out. However, it seems like ever since he got that concussion everything changed. A combination of his concussion and a very simple offense puts a very terrible offense on the field. It is time to get rid of Dick, move past Trent, and see what can happen!!!!
  2. My first thought is why do fans of other teams really care? Don't they have enough to read and discuss about with their own organization? And who has enough time in their day to not only follow their own team, but join other teams sites, read their articles and posts, and then spend time writing about how much you think they suck? I guess I can understand reading posts to get a read on what Bills fan think of their own team but to go as far as to log-in and post that they are all misguided idiots is a little much. Secondly, freedom of speech is no where near the point. It isn't the appropriate argument. The question is not whether anyone has the right or not to post but rather why they would? Sure any fan of another team has the right to post where they choose but they also have the right to stand on the corner during a Martin Luther King Jr. parade and scream "White Power". Both seem silly. I think those people that take the time to bash other fans on their sites really need to ask themselves this final question..."Why do I care what Bills fans think of the Bills?" We all know at the end of the day that the game is the only thing that matters. Admittedly us Bills fans haven't had a great run over the last ten years and we enjoy the beginning of the season when we can be optomistic about our chances. Shouldn't we have the right to do that in peace? I guess if Pats fans really need to come on here, tell us they have the right to post anywhere, then use that right to bash other teams to make themselves feel better........ I guess they have that right.
  3. Instead of arguing where each city lies... I currently live in Saratoga Springs, north of Albany but was born in Hamburg and I'm not trying to take away from Buffalo, believe me. Lets do it this way... 1. The Bills sign T.O. 2. 'Cuse gets the big win 3. (For those from Albany) Siena wins the MAAC for the second year in a row and might get a 10 seed. Great national coverage for a mid-major. Lets just say UPSTATE New York is getting its due.
  4. Has anyone posted the press conference video online? If so link?
  5. One quick question from a guy who is still learning the whole process. What is the benefit of releasing him instead of trading him? Is it simply because no one wants to pay his contract?
  6. John Clayton was on Mike and Mike this morning and said that the best possibility for Coach Cowher is the Jets. He believes that Mangini is gone and that New York will give anything to Cowher that he asks for, including salary. If its not the Jets than Coach goes back to the booth. Does Cowher come to New York and make things tougher for Buffalo? Thoughts...
  7. I couldn't agree more. He was holding back tears for sure. But let me ask this? Do you think that because he has built such a close relationship with the players that he is sad to not be around them next year? I mean, he kept referring to them and how much of a great win it was for them. I just got this feeling that he knows he is done and it makes him sad.
  8. I heard Greeny on Mike and Mike this morning claim that he thinks the Jets might get rid of both Favre and Mangini. With that being said, if it happens, does Mangini enter our discussions as a new coach if Jauron gets tossed? Thoughts?
  9. I have one more quick question in regards to Trent. How come no one wants to argue or acknoweldge that he comes recommended by Bill Walsh? Does anyone else on this team have that? And why can't we add that to Trent's resume when Bill Walsh is one of the greatest minds in football? We have to know he sees things a little bit different than us.
  10. Multiple posters have made the same assumption about Poz, Hardy, McKelvin, Lynch, Whitner, JP, Butler, Youboty, and Fine. Why can't we make naive assumptions about Trent, as well? I guess my issue is that everyone is so quick to make a judgement when one or two things go wrong. Can we as fans look at college careers and NFL game play and make educated judgements? Sure. Thats what we are here for right? But my problem is with those that watch Trent (or Poz, Fine etc) play one bad game and then they jump on here and scream for him to be traded and or whatever else someone can come up with. We need to remember not every great player steps in and wins championships, thats what the stats are for. Because he has shown the ability to play well and win, unlike JP, we need to give him more time to prove himself. If he is terrible this time next year then fine. But we cannot make the judgement yet.
  11. The issue I have is that a lot of people are ASSUMING Trent will turn out to be the Akili Smiths, Ryan Leafs, Andre Wares, Todd Marinovichs, Heath Shulers, Cade McNowns, etc, etc, etc as you say. How, with what we have seen in his good and bad, can you make that judgement yet. I don't think one can.
  12. This is my first post so please take it easy huh?!?!? A lot of you may have already taken a look at these numbers but I think they are very telling. I grabbed a handful of stats from QBs that won many games, as well as championships, in their career and compared them to Trent. Basically I wanted to see if Trent could add up to some of the best in their first years. The numbers speak for themselves. Now, I know you could argue a great deal of issues: teams, coaches, surrounding receivers, years of play, as well as a host of others, but simply taking a look at the numbers you can see that not every good quaterback comes off the block running on all cylinders. Are Trent's numbers any better? Nope. Are they much worse. Nope. Do they kinda fall in line with the others even though some of these QBs had better staffs and more seasoned players? Sure. The bottomline is this. Lets give Trent a chance. He is a smart kid, who got banged up in his first full year, under a losing coach, along with a first year offensive system. And lest we forget...he comes recommended by one of the game's greatest: Bill Walsh. Year Age Team Position Games Games Record Comp Att Comp% Yrds TD INT Played Started T.
