This is actually a good article and mostly aligns with my views.  It doesn't let Trump off the hook like so many on here are trying to do.  It also recognizes it's a political club being used by Democrats trying to keep it alive Benghazi style.

Second, I bow to nobody in my view that the Capitol riot was indefensible, that it involved lawbreaking and both real and threatened violence, that it targeted and disrupted an essential process in the peaceful transition of power, and that Donald Trump bears moral and political responsibility for it. Trump was responsible not only for his incendiary speech but for a two-month course of conduct consisting of (1) claiming, loudly and falsely, that the election was stolen; (2) continuing to contest the election result through every available forum for two months; (3) not limiting his contest of the election to the legally legitimate channels for an election contest; (4) focusing attention on the in-person gathering of the entire Congress and the vice president to count the electoral votes on January 6 as a point of vulnerability to mob pressure; and (5) specifically violating his oath to the Constitution by the attempt to get the vice president to unilaterally prevent the counting of electoral votes.

I said at the time, and still believe, that Trump was properly impeached for this and should have been convicted. I said at the time, and still believe, that the maximum available punishments should be used against everyone who broke the law that day, in order to show for all time that this should never be repeated. I said at the time, and still believe, that a great many societies in human history would rationally have reacted to such an event by placing the heads of Trump and the rioters on pikes around the Capitol as a warning to others.

He also realizes the cynical play by the Dems which could be effective as Trump continues to get back into the public eye when the Republican politicians are dying to move on from him.

The temptation to keep January 6 alive as a never-ending partisan club in order to preserve the Trump-centric voter dynamics of the 2020 election and avoid contesting the 2022 elections around the current president and the current Congress. That undoubtedly is why unprincipled political operatives seem devoted to the “January 6 was worse than September 11” talking point. Never mind that 3,000 Americans died; the important thing is that Republicans won the 2002 and 2004 elections on the strength of George W. Bush’s response to the September 11 attacks. For Democrats still sore at that — and in particular for Democrats who were Republicans then and see money to be made now off January 6 — the desire to repeat that has overwhelmed their basic sense of decency and proportion.

A good summation but what's missing is context.  And I'll keep my comments to setting that context.

And that context is these protesters have experienced the opposition lying, cheating, and stealing for 4 1/2 years.  Breaking all kinds of laws like falsifying warrants, falsifying intelligence, leaking sensitive national security information, planting false stories in the press, letting sympathetic protest groups get away with murder, and so much more.  And yet not a single person has been charged, tried, or convicting of anything.  Like "made men" in the mob these wrongdoers are protected by the system.  While they are not.

They've watched the corporate media lie about everything, ignore other things, and dismiss anything that didn't fit their narratives. They've witnessed big tech weaponizing social media against them, suppressing and censoring all opposition ideas.  And in a lot of cases these platforms have spread lies and misinformation themselves. All without consequences.

They've sat through two impeachment hearings authorized on the flimsiest of charges all for political show.  They've heard officials like Maxine Waters telling her supporters to "get in people's faces" and to get "confrontational" and see her get away unquestioned by the media.  The same media that descended on Trump when he spoke in similar fashion charging he was inciting violence.  They've watched BLM and Antifa groups burn, loot, destroy, steal, beat and kill people and get away with all of it by friendly state and local governments knowing damn well if they participated in that behavior they'd see the full weight of the law come down on them.

Basically, they've watched the administration they supported get screwed up and down by the embedded powers inside and outside the government during the entire 4 year term.  And then defeated in an election almost half the country believes was fixed.

That's the context.  And given all that telling them here to play nice and follow all the rules.

So quick question... has it been going bankrupt, and/or un sustainable?

Going bankrupt?  Technically the Federal government can not go bankrupt.  Unsustainable?  Probably.  But they can just keep creating more money and devalue the dollar to death along with all our living standards.  And they've been doing that for decades.  The Federal government is in about a $28T ditch and counting.  With annual budget deficits over $1T sure to be more this fiscal year and next.  Currently taxes account for around 20% of the budget and the 80% is borrowed.  That's why its so hilarious when they talk about raising taxes to fund programs.  Making the rich pay their "fair share".  It all sounds so good.

If taxes funded everything we'd need to cut Federal spending by 3/4's.  What Senator or Congress person is going to support that from either party?  Add in a dozen or so States with unfunded pension funds to the tune of $100's of billions and the whole thing is a house of cards.  The thing keeping the game going is the special status of the US dollar in the global financial system. When that shoe drops the shows over.

And Trump won the election too.

This is a common misconception.  Medicare is not socialist.  Its is a one payer system for people over the age of 65.  Part A, B, C, and D.  Under a socialist system providers would work for the government.  They do not work for the government in the US healthcare system model.  Unlike national health care models in other countries.

They are private practices or groups that service patients from other payers, commercial, Medicaid, private payer as well as accepting Medicare patients.  Government Medicare generally covers 80% of charges and some people over 65 choose to pay for Medicare Advantage coverage out-of-pocket to cover their 20% patient responsibility amount.  Some income qualifications may allow people over 65 to be covered by various State sponsored supplemental insurance.  By definition if it was socialist it would be "free".

I usually just laugh at your posts but this one takes the cake.   Educate me.  How is socialism different when it is implemented by elected officials vs dictators?  This ought to be a doosey.  What a mess.

Our friend fails to inform us that ultimately even "elected" socialist systems degenerate into the dictatorship model.  The reality that the most productive members of society will choose to exit such a situation must be dealt with by forcing them to stay.  And as democratic societies work they generally do not share this characteristic.  So government force and coercion becomes a necessity.

But the fatal flaw of socialism and communism is they ultimately descend into the equal distribution of nothing.  Poverty for everyone but the political elite.   If you want a firsthand assessment find somebody like my acquaintances that grew up under the Soviet system and watched it fall prior to emigrating the US.  They think the lefties here are at best naive idiots and at worst a danger to freedom and democracy to desire such a system.

If you’re wondering why Jan 6 continues to be portrayed in the most comically grandiose terms -- worse than a nuclear holocaust -- consider that this rhetoric undergirds what law enforcement officials have bragged is the most far-reaching federal prosecution initiative *ever*

Yet another Jan 6 defendant was arrested today for what we're still being told is the "existentially threatening" crime of being present in the Capitol Building for a total of 13 minutes

What's I find laughable is the huge contradiction of reality the media, movies, and TV shows create about the FBI as some highly competent and just organization vs. the true nature of the agency as a corrupt political tool that has no legitimacy to call itself "law enforcement".  I sympathize with what I expect are a large number of good and honest rank-and-file agents that need to hold their noses to avoid the stench of corruption emanating from their bosses at the top as they report to work each day.

Because to admit it was stopped by itself is to admit it never started.  End of story here.

Definite sign of panic: Pennsylvania acting Secretary of State issues illegal orders to obstruct audit of 2020 election

    By Thomas Lifson

Yesterday, I wrote that it looks like Pennsylvania Dems are panicking over the audit of the 2020 election announced by State Senator Doug Mastriano, chair of the state senate’s  Intergovernmental Operations Committee. Two days after the announcement of the audit, President Biden suddenly was scheduled for a trip to the Keystone State "to deliver remarks on actions to protect the sacred constitutional right to vote." Bringing the “The Big Guy” to pressure officials to obstruct access to the data which the state senate has an absolute right to examine.

But that was just half the story.

    {snip}

    So, the timeline is:

July 7:  Senator Mastriano announces his audit.

July 8:  Acting Secretary of State Degraffenreid orders local officials to obstruct access to the evidence.

July 9:  President Biden’s handlers schedule a trip to Pennsylvania, obviously to weigh in and force local officials to participate in the cover-up of evidence.

    Senator Mastriano is not intimidated:

This is representative of the core problem.  Confidence.  It doesn't matter if there was election fraud or not.  It doesn't matter if people casting votes were not eligible to cast a vote.  It doesn't matter if the "process" was fair or not.  It doesn't matter who won.  We can argue and debate the finer points of the election law or results until the Sun burns out and who is right or wrong won't matter.

What matters is if there was election fraud a very large number of citizens know with 100% certainty that the officials running the system, the official responsible for overseeing the system, the media reporting on it, and everyone else involved would all lie about it whether or not it happened.  And would not investigate anything, would not look to find anything, and would obstruct and inhibit any audits and recounts by doing everything and anything they could to stop anyone else from finding any problems anywhere.

The record to date supports this view.  We are at the point of "systemic corruption".  Where every institution, not just those connected to the elections, is viewed as corrupt.  Its like Operation Mindcrime track 3.  Its not Democrats vs. Republicans, or liberals vs, conservatives, or left vs, right.  Its corruption and the consequences of corruption embedded in a lawless and self-serving government supported by its co-beneficiaries in the private sector such as big tech.  Right now what's in short supply is honesty and integrity.

Maybe magic happy times fairy dust was sprinkled down on the Capitol that day to stop the insurrectionists too?  The lengths big oppressive government advocates will go to deny the reality that our government has gone off the rails appears endless.  And sadly whether you advocate for them or not they are out to screw us all just the same.

So Trump was behind the whole thing and he called it off?  Then why do it in the first place?  You're making this way more complicated than it needs to be.  It all sounds like a lot of people went through a lot of effort for nothing.

Maybe the answer is there was no plan for any insurrection and the events were either spontaneous or driven by agitators not associated with the main protest.  Ask the FBI, they know who these agitators were.  And the story the administration is pushing is a bunch of political witchcraft designed to score points with their base and use it as a pretext to punish their political opponents.  There...  I answered it for you.  Are we finished here yet?

  14. There a lot of of holes in the insurrection narrative regarding the Capitol building on 1/6.  The biggest one is a simple yet important question.  I've scoured the media for anything that might provide an answer.  I can't find anything that meets such criteria.  In fact I haven't even seen the question asked.  I've thought this through for a while.  The question is this:

What stopped the insurrection from succeeding on 1/6?

To set the stage there was a crowed of approximately 500,000 protesters reported.  Of that crowd about 900 were said to enter the Capitol.  So a little less than .2% of the crowd participated in the lawful and unlawful entering of the Capitol.  I say lawful and unlawful because reports suggest about 1/2 of the protesters entering the Capitol were "invited in" by the Capitol Police.  So about .1% committed a crime of trespass.

So the alleged idea was through any means necessary to:

    1) stop the 2020 election results from being certified by Congress

    2) stop the transition of power to the new administration

So who and what stopped this from happening?

It wasn't the military.  There were no active units deployed or engaged.

It wasn't the national guard. Congressional leaders informed of potential trouble ignored those warnings and declined the offer of the guard.

It wasn't the DC police.  They didn't have jurisdiction.

It wasn't the Capitol Police  They had a regular contingent of officers on duty that day and were ill prepared for the crowd or any potential trouble despite warnings.

It wasn't members of Congress from either party.  Reports suggest they were all hiding and running from the building.

Given there was no organized resistance to this armed insurrection loaded up with AR-15s, hand guns, explosives, all kinds of weapons (that's the story being peddled, right?) what stopped them from locating, finding, chasing down, capturing, injuring, or killing any or all representative or senators that they were targeting?  As there was little or nothing to stop them.

Magically, with nothing in the way of achieving their "planned" objectives" it appears they just decided to turn around, leave, and go home.  All without any reasonable explanation.  From anyone, anywhere.  That doesn't sound like the behavior of armed insurrectionists bent on "over-throwing" or disrupting the mechanisms of government.

This is like the Greeks hiding in the Trojan Horse, stealing out of the horse in the dead of night, opening the gates of the city, then leaving and headed home.  But we know that didn't happen.

Or like Antifa breaking through the perimeter of the Federal Court House in Portland and then turning around to head back to their mom's basements.  While we are all pretty confident they would have ransacked, destroyed, and burned the building to the ground given the chance.

But these "Trump" insurrectionist" with nothing in their way to stop them from achieving their objectives just decided to forget about it all and just leave and go home.  Simply excepting defeat after all the time and effort "planning" the attack and trudging all the way to DC just to leave empty handed.  Logic would conclude the insurrection narrative is complete BS.  But logic and Washington politics are mutually exclusive concepts.

So lets say your employer requires you to get the vaccine as a requirement for keeping your job.  And then you get it and suffer serious side effects.  By demanding this as a requirement for employment have they assumed legal liability for any adverse outcomes as they've mandated you get the vaccination?  For forcing you to get what some medical experts suggest is an "experimental" vaccine based on messenger RNA technology (mRNA) which is categorized under the topic of Gene Therapy.  A vaccine being distributed under EUA and not an approved BLA. My advice to all employees of all these companies.  Your no match against them on your own.  Form a union and fight power with numbers.   Look at the teachers union as an example.  You don't see school districts pushing them around.  So there's no reason private sector workers have to take any crap either.

Warning that fully vaccinated may be spreading Delta variant as cases rise across US

Health experts in the United States have raised the alarm that vaccinated individuals might be spreading the Covid-19 Delta variant, as cases surge in states across the country.

The highly transmissible Delta variant now makes up more than half of new infections in the US.

Currently the B.1.1.7, or Alpha, variant is the dominant strain in the country, But researchers said the Delta variant would likely overtake the Alpha variant in three to four weeks.

Christopher Murray, director of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, told Insider that the spread of the Delta variant could actually be worse than current data suggests.

“CDC guidance is not to test the vaccinated [unless they’re symptomatic], so we’re probably missing a bunch of transmission in vaccinated individuals,” Mr Murray said, who is the lead modeller at the IHME, which the White House has leaned on when making pandemic policies.

“We have 14 states where transmission has started to go back up,” he added.

The expert credited the rise in the Delta variant to both unvaccinated Americans and the relaxation of Covid-19 guidance across most of the US. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lifted its masking guidance in May for vaccinated Americans after more and more people received a jab.

But the spread of the Delta variant has influenced some areas across the US, such as Los Angeles County, to reimpose masking guidance for all residents, vaccinated or not.

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/delta-variant-mask-covid-us-latest-b1880058.html

How can vaccinated individuals spread the virus?  If this is indeed the case the reason would be the subject that received the vaccine did not develop sufficient antibodies and essentially the vaccine did not work.  Otherwise, this sounds like pseudo-science at best and most likely guesswork.  Viruses and vaccines have been around a long time, like flu vaccines, and I never once heard anyone raise any alarm to the public that vaccinated people were spreading the flu.  Making these kinds of public statements without providing any insights or reasoning behind them just raises the suspicions of the public.

Another thing.  The volume of cases no longer qualifies this to be a national emergency.  And while clusters of cases are being found in localities trend suggests the problem is under control and slowly subsiding.  While it may never disappear the need for extreme measures is over unless some huge outbreak rears up.  That doesn't seem likely.

When viruses mutate the generally become more infectious but less lethal.  This seems true so far based on experience with is Delta variant in the US to date.  Treatments have been deployed or are in the process of being approved that will more effectively treat anyone requiring hospitalization.  And the risk of death will drop at least 50% and perhaps as much as 85%.  So even if we see an upswing in cases the death rate is going to drop dramatically and the severity of illness will also subside.

initially the idea of lock downs and a national emergency was to prevent the health care system from being overrun by cases and hospitalizations.  This goal was met.  Hospitals are almost empty now of severe and critical COVID patients.  And we know quite a bit more now about what risk factors make people susceptible to serious cases.  So precautions can be tailored to met the needs of specific individual risk factors.  Applying some general rule to the entire population is no longer efficient or required.

Well I don't think being objective about Trump, acknowledging the good and the bad, and calling it like it is should be viewed as me being some proponent of the guy.  He's a detestable person but he's one of the few high-profile leaders that stands up against the establishment embedded inside Washington.  Who do you propose I support?  The current grifters and hustlers in the White House?  Am aged President that obviously is not physically or mentally capable of executing the duties of the office?  The Russian connection is a joke.  Nobody, absolutely nobody, has ever, ever produced on single shred of evidence to prove any connection or association,  Yet the fools continue to sell this nonsense.  Are they just stupid?  Or liars?  They see some imaginary association with circumstances or events and use conjecture to draw some baseless conclusion of coordination or conspiracy.  So who's peddling conspiracy theories here?  Meanwhile, they ignore the China threat while they steal everything that isn't bolted down, bring it home, copy or improve it, with the intent of using it against us.  Along with tech giants like Google, Facebook, and Twitter doing the bidding of Xi.  Maybe that's a story CNN and MSNBC should cover 24/7?  Either these people are helping or ignoring it but either way they need to step aside and let somebody that knows what's going on take charge.

As for attacking CRT you may view my comments as attack and I see them as an honest critique of something based on illogical conclusions and misrepresentations of historical events.  Its the subjective opinion of the authors.  Nothing more, nothing less.  But its being peddled as some kind of sound and thoroughly researched theory.  I'm willing to listen if you could tell me what about it you find genuinely useful and objective?

I don't see what I say as "downplaying" 1/6.  I see what others are saying as over-playing it.  What are the facts so far?  Nobody has been charged with insurrection but that's what it continues to be called in the media.  Suspects are being detained without bail in confinement for minor charges while suspects arrested for serious crimes of violence are released without bail in major cities across the US.  These people are more like "political prisoners" than criminals.  Its been 6 months and the government has yet to bring anything to trial.  And the committee to investigate?  Its a political farce.

As far as election irregularities the jury is still out as audits and investigation continues in several states.  And people that insist nothing is there to be found insist on trying to stop others from looking.  But so far motions to stop a lot of these activities have failed.  That doesn't raise any suspicions for you?

If she was somebody with criminal record, resisting arrest, and engaging in a confrontation with police during a traffic stop in Minneapolis or many other cities we'd know the identity of the officer in a couple hours along with getting views of body cam footage.  And the officer would be immediately suspended and the bringing of charges would automatically begin being investigated and considered by the local DA.  Tell me I an wrong?  Please tell me I'm wrong?  And please no phony racist accusation crap to avoid giving an honest answer.  Somebody be the first lefty to tell the truth today!  Face the truth.  Our government at all levels sucks ass..
