I agree with all of this.

At the same time, not one of those guys belongs at the spot where they are on the depth chart. The Bills have a starting caliber slot receiver. He is probably a top 5-10 slot in the league. Put him aside for this conversation. They then have 2 guys that would be low end 2’s on the outside or decent 3’s (excluding slot) in Palmer/Moore. Coleman should slot in behind those 2. Samuel is a gadget guy. Shavers is ST. So they are missing AT LEAST a number 1 (and you could argue a number 2). They need either a number 2 or an elite field stretcher.

I threw out a hypothetical trade this morning that I think I like. Torrence & a 2nd or 3rd for Tee Higgins. You can’t pay Torrence what it will take. Invest that money into retaining Edwards & McGovern. Play Anderson or another young guy at RG.

Humor me and let’s pretend the Bills do this. In 2026 the room would look something like Higgins-Palmer - Shakir as the starters. I’d have Moore/speed guy that can return kicks drafted in the mid rounds behind them. Coleman as a backup inside and outside. You can dump Samuel and use Moore to fill the gadget role. That room is infinitely better than this.

The Bills can get more out of the WRs than they have. They have, unequivocally, a bottom 3 WR room in the league. Both statements are true.

So you cant pay Torrence but you can afford Higgins?

Only thing I’ve learned in this thread is that the Bills could have drafted Mahomes, Jefferson, Tom Brady and TOMS’s dog x 2

The one I rue to this day, is Donohoe trading the following year's number 1 pick for JP Losman that could of been Aaron Rodgers sitting in our laps.  Rodgers still in the league and playing for a team leading it's division.  A lot times the right answer is to not force things.

  3. One thing is for sure, there is not a day that goes by that Minnesota doesn't thank their lucky stars that they made that deal.   Wasnt the trade a 1, 4, 5, and 6th for Diggs and a 7th.

My brother or sister in Christ, you do whatever you have to to win it all and then you deal with it. It's not his job to build a playoff contender and call it a day, the goal is to win it all or he isn't right for the job.

I look forward to this board losing its mind when Beane goes heavy defense in the draft again next year.

  5. I'll be on a lonely island here, glad we didnt make a trade.  Guys not signed for next year: Bosa, AJE, Daquan, Ogunjobi, Milano, Thompson.   Guys a lot of people want replaced: Rapp, Tre.  Hoecht might not be ready to start the year.  We're over the cap in 2026 as of right now, so what's your plan for next year if you give away picks?   Beane's job is to look at this team long term not just this year.  There are still a lot of holes to fill next off season.

  6. Seems like McD made a comment last week about despite what people say he likes physical football.   For sure seen a more physical defense the last 2 weeks.  More aggressive.  Seems like before they were playing on their heels to much earlier in the season.   i give him a lot of crap, but I have to give credit that he is addressing it and its showing.

  7. Im liking what Im seeing from the young guys.  Walker has made plays, Hairston is for sure improving the corner play.  Hawes has made plays.   Hancock was on the field plenty in a game Mahomes threw for 44 percent.   The book on Sanders this season is not complete, he'll be back.  Landon Jackson could contribute.  Will he be a force, probably not, but can he spell a DE and give them a rest.   Maybe.   Taron will be healthier.   Milano is still upright.   Shaq will be back.  Screw a trade.  Keep the picks for what we lose in the off season, there will be turnover.  I like younger and cheaper.  I like the young guys getting real game experience.  I like knowing they will be here for 3 more years, 4 more with Hairston god willing he stays healthy.

  8. One thing Im coming around about, you need to be deep on the defensive side of the ball.   Seems like more injuries on D.  It takes more effort to play defense, you can get hurt by your own guys coming in on a tackle, etc.  I look at us over the years, the Lions last year, 49ers lost Bosa/Warner.  Your defensive backups better be quality, because more than a few are going to be starters at some point in the year.

Scary slow. The only way he can get away with playing safety at that speed is to be extremely instinctual, very well studied, and a master of angles to the ball carrier. Last year he took great angles, this year has been a completely different story.

4.76 would of been the second slowest LB at this years combine.

I for one will miss his hesitancy, poor angles, missed tackles, and 4.7 speed in the secondary.

He ran 4.76 and 4.78 at his pro day and the combine, probably closer to 4.9 present day.

We don’t even know if he can be an OC. He didn’t call plays in SF, and Dolfans who watch the team game in and game out think his playcalling leaves a lot to be desired from a situational and flow standpoint. He sure can scheme up a gimmick handoff.

Does nice with Achane, has a lot of crossers with speed, the screen game.   I agree he can get too cute sometimes.  I for sure think he will and OC next year on some team with a new coach.  To put it another way, I think Tua will really struggle without him.  Tua will be a Dillon Gabriel.
