  1. part of me thinks this is kind of a cool idea, while part of me makes me think ot just makes bills fans look dumb. oncer in novelty but second is pushing it a bit i think. Imagine seeing a story about another NFL franchise having constant billboard erected more or less yelling/demanding things from their franchise. it looks kind of makes the community look like a bunch of jokers.

i will however have my fingers crossed

  2. this is dumb. bolt is OLYMPIC CHAMPION. he clearly wins. over only 40yds it would be close I am sure. But over 100m it wouldnt be close. Silly topic anyways. Afinegeov is a really good skater, maybe we should see if he could beat Apollo Ohno(sp). Not to mention these guys are the best in the world, reigning olympic athletes. lets not challenge their legitimacy against lesser athletes.

  3. QB-Flutie

    RB-Henry, Jackson

    FB-Centers

    WR-Moulds, Evans, Owens

    TE-Riemersma

    OL-Jennings, Brown, Teague, Villarrial, Peters

    K-Lindell

    DE-Schobel, Kelsay

    DT-Adams, Stroud/Williams (Pat)

    LB-Spikes, Fletcher, Crowell

    S-Whitner, Byrd

    CB-McGee, Winfield

    P-Moorman

DT is the only hard one to narrow down...and arguments can be made for Clements at CB

I take Owens over Peerless any day. Especially since his second stint here was garbage. Even though TO's only here for a year(and his production has been low), you cant possibly assume he is not one of the top 3 wr's to play here in the last decade.

Flutie Bledsoe is a tough one.

Have we had anybody worth mentioning at DE other than Schobel Kelsay in the last decade.

Jackson might be the feel good player of the decade, but could make an arguement against him.

  4. I agree.

I hate the Captain Checkdown moniker- perhaps more than Edwards himself- but it IS true. And it has become frustrating. And I understand how the QB is the face of the franchise. And I get the whole Trent stating that he is not a fan of the Bills. Yadda, yadda, yadda. And I am Far from a Trent apologist.

But this offensive line is abysmal. Blame it on injuries, blame it on rookies. But who drafted these rookies? Whose decisions was it to blow up the offensive line, and put rookies in the place of the delicate flowers that we had as offensive linemen last season? Who refused to sign veterans, until injuries forced the need to pick up any competent replacement? Who failed to provide the right depth? Who failed to have a practice squad with development players on it (like Bell and Meredith)?

I contend that if Trent was playing behind the Patriots offensive line, he would look good, have no trouble hitting his receivers deep, and would be capable of leading his team to the playoffs.

really? isnt it still possible that tom brady might not be able to lead that team into the playoffs

  5. QB- No clue.

    HB1- Jackson

    HB1A- Lynch

    WR- Evans

WR- No clue. Best FA, or Johnson, or Hardy

    TE- Nelson

    LT- Best FA/Draft available

    LG- Levitre

    C- Incognito

    RG- Wood

    RT- Butler

    ---------------

    DT- Williams

    DT- Stroud

    DE- Kelsay

    DE- Schobel

    MLB- Poz

    SOLB- Best FA/Draft available

    WOLB- Harris

    SS- Scott

    FS- Byrd

    Needs: LT, QB, SOLB

My favorites for QB: We need to pick up a vet but for rookies: LeFevour or Pike (both should be available in the second round)

For SOLB: People are excited about McClain, but I don't see a lot of speed from him. Am I wrong about this? Who else should be available in draft/FA?

I don't pretend to know anything about LT prospects, rookies or otherwise.

Most notable omissions: Whitner, Mitchell, Schouman, Ellison

the only reason i looked at this is to see draft or free agency prospects. All you did was basically list our current roster and put a ? mark next to open positions. Pair this with your lack of info on the line, and I dont think you can be that bored because you couldnt fact check or look at prospects in the draft or fa. try again.

i am hesitant of the brohm idea, but i am a bit optomistic. we still need an insurance policy, and NOT pennington. Part of me thinks Brady Quinn has never been submerged in a starting role and may come cheap. I do not think he is the answer, but is still somewhat unproven. Jason Campbell...I have no idea what to think of him. I wouldnt be upset, but he is not long term. HE might be a bridge for grooming a draft pick

  6. TE- Nelson

    LT- Best FA/Draft available

    LG- Levitre

    C- Incognito

    RG- Wood

    RT- Butler

    ---------------

wasnt icognito a good tackle in college, and wasnt wood a center. Lets try using our players at the right positions and see what happends. Not to mention where is Hargartner? Wood may also have a career ender(maybe not), he is still a ? in my book untill we hear about his return to the game and strength. If he will be back to form that would be great

  7. most likely he just wants to be on another good team, and is trying to mend fences. at this point he would love to take any job that wasnt DET OAK BUF STL CLE TB. He probably cant go back to the cowboys, so he is talking up philly and SF in the news. It has less to do with loving Philly, and more to do with TO winning football games

  8. JP is a friend of the family to one of my good friends. I know this sounds stupid but I have spoken to him after his career in Buffalo ended. He turned down Carolina because he didnt want to be a back up. He also turned down Denver because he didnt want to be a back up. In hind sight he might be starting for either team at this point. Him adn Kyle Orton look alike, and play relatively similar, and well JD clearly isnt getting it done in CAR, so maybe some poor decision making.

I do know he wants to be a starter, and that has gone into his decision making in the past, unsure on the current. Anything I have says one year deal. i am unsure if that is to finish this year, or coninue through the next. I suspect that if he was worked out by Indy, with speculation of them getting it done sometime this week, and Oakland calls, he expects to start if not the last three games, I assume they have implied he will do it next year

  9. sometimes they seem to be pretty off base with the fan base in Buffalo, get worked up about all the wrong things, and seem to have no real knowledge of football to give to any of the listeners. They are annoying and whiny.

I got upset the other day when Schop didnt watch the Sabres game, and Bulldog left the game early. It is your JOB to watch and have insight on the game and its entirety, and just to announce it on the air is rediculous.

I dont know why I listen, I really hate just about everbody on 550. I guess its like those crazy moms who kept listening to Howard Stern just to complain and get all heated is. The only difference is I enjoy I like Howards Stern and he doesnt suck like these a-holes

  10. make zero moves as of right no and keep everything as is. the consensus/hope right now is that we are blowing up the coaching staff/front office next year. supposively those are the people who will be making those decisions, not our current band of gypsy's we have now. why whould we want an incompetent front office making moves right now in negotiating contracts? a new fo will want nothing to do with fresh contracts, they will want teh control over that decision.

Players like hardy and steve johnson will be evaluated by the new coaching staff, not the current. it will only hurt them to try and perform with a team that is more or less out of the hunt and just going through the motions, and it is not like the offense was rolling anybody over to begin with. If they are to have a future here in Buffalo the new staff should decide on that under their plays and their circumstances.

When/if we get a new FO, they might see a potential in TO and want to retain him, benching him will ensure the fact that that does not happen(rather than the current most likely. If that does happen, Hardy and Johnson will still be on the bench.

Keep everything as is, the team is in no position to currently deal with or evaluate personel. let the new FO figure everything out, and lets not tarnish the reputations of any possibly key athletes that may be on the roster. everything needs to be worked out with the new regime, just wait everything out

  11. Thought?

If we are truly blowing the team up as we keep hoping, we wont just cut everybody. We will trade them for personel/picks. IF we are lucky we can trade some of our picks to get either back into the first round(hopefully) or early second. With the right moves we might be able to make pretty good moves at both positions

  12. Just a thought. Lets pretenend we win the next 4 games(NE will be really tough, and Atlanta in ATL is just as difficult). Assuming the Pats lose as we need them too, week 17 will be a must win for us at home vs Indy. Does Indy playing their back ups become significantly more enticing to them. Not having to worry about NE in the playoffs is to their advantage, and off the top of my head almost clinches a spot in the AFC championship game.

All unlikely but it is a fun game to play

  13. The only thing I am excited about in this Shanahan coaching circus is the idea of being in the market and the idea of trying to get top coaching in Buffalo. We need a personel guy, somebody who is proven to understand how to put a team together. Shanahan has 4 playoff appearances in 10 years without Elway, seems like mediocre results(although mediocre is better than what we have been putting up with). His reputation in Denver was of rifling through free agents, always looking for another guy. He was a mediocre when holding both GM/Coach.

With a good GM and good coordinators, HC becomes a bit less important. I would rather bring in a Holmgren, Shottenhiemer, Casserle as GM. Maybe Weiss or Bratkowski from the Bengals as OC, and maybe Bates, Frazier, Capers, or Nolan as DC, and after that Fewell can stay as HC at that point, he is an excited easy to like guy who seems pretty pumped to be running an organization. With that cast plus a new strength and conditioning coach it doesnt really matter who the HC is.

  14. Fewell seems to be an easy to like guy who has come up throught he ranks, and he at least for a couple of weeks seems to be living out his dream, and I think that Buffalo feels for that, and that is why so many of us may be pulling for him. Is he the next great coach? Maybe, maybe not, who knows. I know I wouldnt mind him as HC as long as we brought in a proven OC, DC, and strength and conditioning coach. Oh yeah and none of this matters untill we bring in a proven GM. Forget Shannahan, that is a mistake to fulfill both roles, without Elway he has been mediocre(although mediocre is better than what we have had this decade.) I am just not excited about Shanahan at all. What I could get excited about is say a Holmgren, Shottenheimer, or Casserle as GM, Weiss as OC, and somebody like Nolan, Capers, Bates or even zimmer as DC. After that Fewell can stay as HC for all I care. That is a staff that I can get excited about. Maybe I can ask Santa

  15. I like that hope is not lost, but I have been Jauroned, and am waiting for failure. If we could make week 15 atleast interesting that would be great. All those games look liek they should finish that way with the exception of KC over Denver. That wont happen. And if we need to NE to lose to Miami, I highly doubt that as well.

  16. What I did notice last night is that Brady is misfiring ALOT, adn Bellicheat seems to be going crazy with going for it on 4th down, and trying to go for the endzoen on every play. If they are not careful they crumble this year. That doesnt mean beat the Bills it means they will finish the last of their games at.500 then lose their first playoff game. IT was a different Pats team last night, Bellicheat was outcoached, not just out played, and he just seemed to go crazy with his I can do anything God complex when he realized it.

  17. Well, Vic Carrucci, who on the day that Jauron was fired was on the radio in an interview, and he had said not to get too excited cause Shanahan is in line to take over the Washington job, and that his interest in Buffalo is more of a negotiating tactic to get a better deal in Washington, and that Schefter may just be "helping out a friend" with that "report".

Carrucci still has alot of ties with the Bills organisation, so I wouldn't disregard anything he ahs to say either. He doesn't usually report something without some truth to it. He also thinks that the Bills will be looking at a more "Offensive minded" coach now

not true. if anything carucci has only proven that his only connection to the bills is that he owns a house in WNY. He is way off base all the time. he is a dump adn i wish everybody in buffalo would stop considering him credible.

  18. Peyton manning as your QB, Bill Polian as the GM.

Yup PTR, I think your correct in assuming Dungy had some help along the way, but the same can be said for Cowher or Shanahn I suppose, they all had one thing in common when winning their championships and that's having some damn good QB's at the helm.

peyton has one more year on his contract!!!!!!!!!!
