I like him in the 3rd or later. I am not saying he is the next Tom Brady, but I believe he came to the combine under 200
-
Pike in the 3rd please!
-
I would like to see T.O back here under the new coaching staff, but if Carucci wrote it your safe money is on the opposite.
Again, I wish people would stop using him as a source. Other than living in E. Amherst, he is almost always way off on most NFL insight, and ALWAYS wrong about the Bills

my later round draft picks at qb are either snead or tony pike. I like pike alot bug kid, strong arm, just let him develope a bit, he will be good.

brought up earlier in the post. just commenting on it...dumbass

Niagara Falls Stadium. The Grand Island Bridge cant handle the traffic it has now at 5pm on a weekday, let alone a 70,000 football fans.
Tailgating. Really people think that a Niagara Falls stadium will have the same aura to it as the Ralph, and tailgating will be exactly the same. C'mon, it is not that way at all, it will totally change. Theres little tailgaiting at HEinz Field, the rest gets done in Bars. So expect Niagara Falls to become more overpriced than it already is.

I guess I don't understand this idea that the team is going after a mobile qb (vick) Gailey was a college coach and that's the college game - completely different than the pro-game.
mobile = gimmick = fail
give me a pocket passer and a strong offensive line - Are the Mannings mobile? is Brady mobile? Rivers? Warner? etc, etc??
sure get Seneca Wallace - great idea!! maybe we can trick everyone by running a no-huddle?
Actually Eli , Warner, and Rivers are all pretty mobile. Peyton can leave the pocket if needed.
Brady not so much

First off, I am not a RW fan, infact I was totally against his induction into the HOF. However this article is formed by loose ties and is unnecassarily brash and uneducated. While I disagree with a lot of his football minded decisions, never once do I question his character as a man, nor should the author of this article based on some half truth he posts about the Saints and Sabres.
-
what i really like about this idea is that we are making more holes in team that has too many other important positional needs

Jacksonville is taking tebow in round one IMO they have to save the franchise
Well I would take garrard from them if possible.
I am not totally oppossed to Vick, but at what cost, for how long, and in what role. He could work(crossed fingers). I just didnt see much out of him this past season in the limited role he had in Philly.
Trading up for Tebow in the 2nd would be insanity. If we take him in the second, he better turn out to be the golden boy.
I just want to see some competitive football out of the bills at this point. I will follow whatever with the new regime, and trust it works for the time being. I am just so desperate for football here that I dont care what we do anymore. If all this stupid stuff doesnt work, I think we officially become the Oakland Raiders.
Also what is going on with Culpepper. Is he available or on a trade block. He is a guy whould could be an excellent mentor to a rookie QB, and I think he still has a season or 2 of decent ball left in him

I am unsure of this guys record as far as injuries and time missed due to injuries. I am not defending him, but you do know that a college football rosteris much larger than an NFL's, and most D! schools have trainers that handles 2-3 teams(all different seasons). Anybody who is S&C at these schools normally graduate with atleast a masters from a D1 sports school and stay in the same program. Because of the workload involved at the college level most of these guys get paid way more and recieve better benifits for their families by staying in college.
The guy could be a complete bum for all I know, but there are reasons to stay in college and not move to the NFL.
Heres to staying healthy

There is a reason he was snatched up again to work with a future franchise QB. The guys a good coach inside of 5 years he will be O-coor again somewhere
yeah he was an awesome qb coach. our offenses where stagnant when he was incharge of off qulity control, whatever that is? We also watched our last two qb's REGRESS under his tutalage. Our offense was abismal this year, the worst I have ever seen it.
What about that coaching resume screams success to you.

This only bothers me because of the Minn game. I thought the first half was riddled with uncalled roughing the passers. I totally agree with the fact that qb's are over protected in the league, but there has to be some level of protection, and everybody on the field seemed to be looking the other way at that game.
There are plenty of teams that go aggresively go after the qb, and plenty of that get there(legally) and do some damage. Last weeks display of clear cheap shots (there where tons that didnt include the one at the end of the game) and some of the things eluded in the interview are concerning.
If it were not for last week I would have brushed this off as nothing. I do hope that the refs dont go crazy over protecting Peyton after this. Hopefully he hits the dirt hard a few times.
Just a side thought. If it seems to be a defenses clear intent is to injure a player as a part of the game plan, could their be a rule protecting that. ie a total of 6 late hit penalties (on any player on the field) by a defense = ejection of dc. I am not necassarily for this, but what if we turn on the super bowl and it is late hit after cheap shot all night long?
-
You are so wrong, it isn't even funny. Brady Quinn isn't even close to Edwards. Quinn has horrible accuracy problems and flinches in the face of the pass rush. When he is protected, Edwards is more than good enough, but thats asking a lot from the least talented OL in the game- which is Buffalo, if you haven't guessed
I couldnt understand what you where saying with Edwards penis in your mouth
-
hes right. Young at the end of his career is goo dbut not great, Mcnabb is good but not great, romo is one of the most over rated player in the league.
I am not sure I would call him the next Jerry Rice, but I think his stats would be pretty close
-
I am pretty confused as to what is going on. Why hire a LB Coach before a DC, or is the DC already in place? Some speculate that our DC is on a Super Bowl team. If we hire the experienced DC, its not Gregg Williams, or we are going with the Tampa 2 and Larry Coyer. Otherwise we are hiring a positional coach from one fo the two teams if this is in fact true

The bills need a long term fix at qb. I am not sure how many good seasons McNabb has in him. We have had a few past their prime FA come here to die in the last few years I think. Giving up a first day pick for Mcnaab would ensure that there is not much of a grooming process for any other qb.
Would rather trade for Troy Smith, I said this last offseason as well. He is much younger, and possibly the best QB in Baltimore. Injured 2 years ago when won the job over Flacco, then Flacco just remained. He could be had for maybe a 3rd or less. The first two rounds could then fill need. He has tremendous upside, and is pretty NFL ready I think.
Just a thought.

Taking the bull by the horns...
If Trent was the QB of any of the Colts, Jets, Saints, or Vikings....Would they be as bad as the Bills were in 2009?
no not nearly as bad as the bills were, but all but maybe the Jets do not make it to the conference games.
lets take the team away and trent v. individual
I see trent as 0-3-1 against those four guys. Tie with Sanchez

Thurman himself has followed up on these expectations surrounding 1/15, and he has no clue what the hell you people are talking about!
There is no 1/15 announcement coming folks. Internet chatter run amok at it's finest!
I believe Thurman created that date in an interview on WGR

seeing as Kurt Warner put up some unreal number last night(so did Rogers, but Kurts where better). He wasnt the best last night.
He isnt the best right now but he will be. I think the current superstars(ie Brady, Manning, Warner) will be phasing out in the next few seasons, and as the tide changes, Rogers will come out as the best in the NFL
-
boy it is that simple. lief must be easy for you. Marty has said a million times HE IS DONE, and Cowher has to agree to work here. Russ and Buddy cant club him and throw him into the back of a black van. So since neither seem to be coming here I guess we just dont play football because these two guys are the only options. Hell we cant get Marty out of retirement, guess its time to sell the team. C'mon
-
Experienced coachin choices are few and far between? My gosh there a ton of experienced coaches out there. I'd take any of these guys over an inexperienced own: Dan Reeves, Marty S, Brian Billick, Mike Martz, Dennis Green, Fim Fassel, Bill Cowher, the Mooch, Jonn Gruden, Bill Callahan, maybe John Fox, maybe Jack Del Rio. I'd even shotgun out contracts to all these guys and take the first one that comes in over any inexperienced co ordinator. We've rolled the dice the last 3 times. Let's pick someone who has had success in the NFL this time. They're out there.
ok now lets pick from the decent ideas/guys that might want to come here. being upset over getting a coordinator doesnt make any real logical sense. How do you think any HC got to where they are now. Not to mention just about any HC worth anything is either employed or is not leaving their current gig to be apart of this disfunctional family.
I am fine with getting a coordinator, just as long as we get a good one, rather than a midlevel on the cheap. Everybody is all worked up over looking at coordinators, it is perfectly fine with me, and and as the playoffs progress we will most likely find ourselves talking to more

Assuming Eric Wood can return healthy for next year, I think that the only glaring hole is at LT. Now, that is a MAJOR
glaring hole as it is the most important position on the OL. I think Demetrius Bell is quite athletic, but he didn't show
much this year before getting hurt. Maybe another off-season of strength training and technique work will make him
a viable option, but I wouldn't want him to be plan A at LT going into next season.
I think a healthy Brad Butler could be adequate at RT and other options are easier to find at RT (by far) than at LT.
There is the rub. Good LTs don't come along very often and while they might have a shot at the #3 or 4 LT at pick
9 this year, it is a tough thing to use that high of a pick on a player who might never be more than an OK starter
at that important position.
QB is a similar situation where the Bills obviously have a huge problem. Again though, it is unlikely (in my opinion) that
they'll have a shot at a top QB by pick 9 and I'm not sure that I like any of the top QBs this year anyway. If Sam
Bradford is there, is he worth the pick? Do you like ND's Clausen? I'm not particularly sold on either. I'd consider
Tim Tebow in the 2nd round, but not at pick 9.
So, that leaves either settling for someone that is probably not worth a high pick at either of these two important
positions or going another direction with a player that the team feels much better about. I suspect that they will
almost have to go with another position rather than reach for a questionable LT or QB prospect. The D could sure
use another LB and Rolando McClain or Brandon Spikes will probably be available. Another DL (end or T) would
never hurt, either.
I guess that I didn't answer the question, but I think that they'll neither get their LT or QB - at least not in round 1
this year.
I love Mcclain. I think he is cant miss. He would be hard not to take with just about anybody on the board at #9.
I think if Clausen or Bradford are there at 9 you pull the triger without hesitation(they wont be so i guess that is moot)
Pull the triger on Tebow only if he is available in the 3rd, if Pike and Lefeouver arent there, and we havent gotten either Bradford/Clausen(again wont happen) in the first or a QB in the second

I have been a pretty large proponent of including coaching salaries in the cap.
