The game was already lost. Why risk further injury when you're down so much late in the 4th? Dust yourself off and prepare for the Saints. 10-7 will be good enough to get into the playoffs. In order for that to happen they only need to go 4-3 the remaining games. That's entirely possible. Falcons, Jets, Saints, and Panthers should all be wins. If they can eek out a win against 1 of the 2 Pats matchups then they'll be in prime position. The season is not over. Don't let the negativity of this board get to u.

Not certain they can go 4-3 the rest of the way as I would expect the team to lose both NE games, the Tampa game and Thursday nights game.  I mean the pattern to beat the Bills is now out there - lots of defensive pressure, don't worry about any running game, and against the Bills defense, run , run , run.  But should the team make the playoffs it will be a short ride I would expect, given that they haven't beaten a team with a winning record yet (I don't count KC because at the time they didn't have a winning record).   I do like your optimism though, we need more of that, but if you've watched this team as long as I have its hard not to expect the other shoe to drop....

  2. This whole season has felt a lot like 1989 to me - Bills come into the season after losing the AFC Championship game (in a season when no one had the Bills doing anything), the team is stocked to the gills on offense (and had a terrific OL which the current teams lacks as many have noted) and then they just sort of went through the motions to a 9-7 season and lost in the divisional round to Cleveland.  Maybe '21 is that season for this team, they went further than expected last year, read their press, and figured beating good teams would just magically happen.  And so we can hope that next year is the year that the team licks their wounds, gets serious and goes on a nice run like the '90 Bills team did - they just kept their mouths shut and played terrific football.  Here's hoping.....

1 game? We have the easiest schedule in the league and are 5-3. We've played one good team ...and lost.

This is exactly the point.  Its pretty evident that to stop the all powerful offense a team needs only to pressure the OL.  They fold easier than a cheap suit.  And if JA doesn't have protection he can't do much with the elite receiving core.  If you've been a Bills fan for more than a few years you've come to expect this kind of thing.  I have no doubt they'll be in the playoffs but it will be a short ride and lets face it, anything less than the AFC Championship game will be a let down and I don't see that happening.  The KC win may have been their peak....hope not, but they've been pretty mediocre  since then.

I may be in the minority here, and I hate to admit it because he's a Bills guy, but I just can't listen to Murphy as the play-by-play man. His calls of big plays are so blah. There were a couple of TD calls in last week's game where I wasn't even sure he cared much that it was a TD.

It feels like blasphemy to say it but I really think Murph needs to be replaced.

No, its not blasphemy.  I'd say he seems to be more "confused" this year in terms of what's going on, on the field.  Reminds a little bit of Curt Gowdy at the very very end of his days of calling football.

Is there a way to sync the radio and tv?  A method or a trick I can use?

Assuming you have a DVR in your cable box yes.  What I do is run the pregame live and stop it as the kicker lines up.  Then when Murphy says "so and so is about to kick off I start the TV again and its usually within +/- a couple of seconds.  You can refine it from there.  I watched the KC game without the benefit of synching (wasn't at home) and so the radio was behind by one play.  Not too bad.  Again, better than Collingsworth.

I took 4 years of Spanish 1.  I should be fine

I'm jealous - you only had to take 4 years of Spanish 1?  Anyway, I tend to listen to Murphy and Eric Wood and turn the sound off on the TV.  There's generally a slight delay but I can usually get the TV and radio synched up....way better than CC....

Unfortunately I think the red zone issues will result in three FG's for the Bills.  While the defense has been fantastic, they've faced three back up QB's.  The team hasn't beaten a good team yet - their opponents so far are 5 - 11.   I Think KC wants to prove that they're back, particularly on prime time.

Man, does that crow taste good.....

Bills haven't beaten a decent QB yet. If Milano, Poyer, and Johnson are not 100% I can't see keeping them from scoring less than 4 TDs.

Best chance Bills have is a strong running game.

McD has not been able to figure out Reid. KC has beaten us with a run oriented attack and then with the pass in two seperate games last year.

If they had beaten the Steelers I would have taken the Bills in a tight game.

Unfortunately I think the o-line is still a work in progress and the defense is a product of the competition.

Truly hope I am wrong. Didn't think Bills would win in Dallas on Thanksgiving and they did. Bills can beat KC but I think it will be in Jan in Buffalo

    KC 31 Buffalo 17

if the Bills lose Sunday I don't think the road to the SB goes through WNY.....

Some people have said that they really want the two home playoff wins and then a Super Bowl win, and a Super Bowl win wouldn't be the same without that. I'm not one of those people, but I was having a discussion with someone about it offline today.

Which people?  A SB win is a SB win is a SB and in fact, winning as a Wild Card would be a great accomplishment....IMHO

100+ combined years of following the Bills and Sabres, and the “just one in my lifetime” has been my mantra for a while now.  🤞🤞🤞🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Ha - me too....though following the Sabers has been pretty pathetic....This current version of the Bills should be contenders for several years.  These guys have no sense of being part of bad teams with year after year coaching changes and systems changes and yada yada yada so maybe just maybe we can feel comfortable in thinking the team may get one....

Very frustrating. Totally understand the D needing to prepare for game-like experiences and push like they’re in a game but this is crazy.

This makes me wonder about some of the starters who haven't played in a pre-season game yet - specifically Josh Allen.  If he doesn't play in preseason then that means his first real game like hit will come in the season opener?   I'm sure no one is hitting him in practice.  That worries me a little TBH....

  13. What I've been telling people when they see my Bills hat/T Shirt is that as Bills fans we should be in for a really solid four or five year stretch, similar to the late 80's/early 90's.  As someone else already pointed out though, this team has to get to at least one SB before any talk of comparison to the 90's SB teams.  Back then the Bills WERE the team to beat in the AFC and honestly, there wasn't that much .  The current Bills are not the team to beat in the AFC.  The Chiefs are until proven otherwise.  The AFC has a several real contenders.  If the Bills make the SB, and I think they will in the next three seasons, then we'll have something to compare IMHO.

Ankle replacement surgery (History) is relatively new and for cases where there is a lot of damage which body will not recover from naturally.

I had ankle surgery in 90's by Mayo Clinic where a large cyst size of a golf ball which intertwined with ankle bones, tendons and blood vessels was removed.  I asked about recovery and was told that due to amount of damage it was possible I would need further surgery or complete ankle replacement if it did not heal but it did with issues.

Ankle replacement surgery is very complicated and worse part it lasts ~10 years.

Thanks for the history link - I had no idea doctors were doing hip replacements in the 1890's!  I had my knee replaced at age 54 and it was the best decision I ever made.  Jimbo's proven he's tough and I have no doubt he'll be able to lead the parade downtown next February....
