  1. The Monday before the Raven's game my wife found out that a funny looking mole was melanoma.  That Friday she had surgery to remove a thumb sized piece of her shoulder.   At that point my nervousness about the Bills game changed as you might imagine.  Two days ago we got word that the melanoma had not spread beyond the original margins.  You can imagine the relief and I feel so blessed.  This whole episode has brought me some serious perspective and made what happen to the Bills relatively inconsequential.   The draft will be here soon, training camp and the season opener and I'm looking forward to sharing all of those with my wife.

  2. I made the mistake of booking a surprise trip for my wife's 65th Bday.  When we got to where we were going and I put the game on she said "weren't not sitting in the room watching the game on my birthday are we? (She's from Philly and not a FB fan)."  I said "no, of course not" and we went had tea and cookies, dinner, etc.  So my not getting to see the game was why the Bills won.......I think.

Why do teams go lateral? Kick it straight forward and have kicker ram the guy catching it. I’ve never seen an onside kick like that. Would definitely increase chances from 3%…

Go back to the come back game - Steve Christie executed a perfect "suicide" onside.....

Because the Rams executed at a level that is near impossible to duplicate. They played at peak performance for 58 minutes. That’s not normal. To expect the Lions to do the same is … hard.

I suspect the Lions won't have to execute at peak performance for 58 minutes to win.  They just need to run, run, run the ball....and I hope like heck I'm wrong.

I am just going to open with this.  W T F DID WE WATCH? I WATCHED THE BROWNS BILLS 6-3 GAME WHICH WAS ATROCIOUS... ANDDD THAT STILL HAD A BETTER FLOW AND WAS MORE WATCHABLE THEN WHATEVER WE CALL THAT PRODUCT LAST NIGHT.

I'm wondering if the NFL brass are at all embarrassed by the game?  The officiating was brutal for both teams and to your point, no flow, very hard to follow on TV or in my case, TV with volume down and WGR up.  I thought Eric Wood was going to jump out of the press box.....

  6. It seems pretty simple to me:  The team controls their destiny, they don't need to rely on other teams, they need to strap their helmets on and go out and play the kind of football they know they are capable of playing and kick Miami's wet, slimy butt.....if they can't get themselves prepared and ready to play a game this meaningful against a division opponent then they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.....that's how I see it.

It started when the team named itself after a city that named itself after the buffalo. For those that don't know this is from an article I found:

In many Plains Indian myths, buffalo gave themselves up willingly as a food source for humans, and therefore have a special position of honor and respect

And this is why we have so many weird things happen to our franchise. We are commonly sacrificed for the benefit of others. Our miser and suffering has brought delight to literally tens of millions of fans, throughout the lands of places such as Dallas, Tennessee, New Jersey, Denver, Minnesota, all the way to Arizona and many places in between.

As we have suffered we have become respected and loved across the land. Which is why our fortune hasn't changed much, but out TV ratings are up. Truly America's Favorite Team.

Found this on the Interweb so it must be true:

The Buffalo Name Theory industry had a good year in 1863, perhaps inspired by a disagreement with Fillmore’s speech. Three new theories appeared in print courtesy of William Ketchum. The Seneca Named Buffalo theory (1863) is one of them. An old man whose Seneca name meant “Buffalo” lived by the creek. White settlers found him there, learned his name and its meaning, and so named the creek. Plausibility level: High

The creek in question is Buffalo Creek....

I still think they get a couple. They get ratings when they play in prime time. The Bears are guaranteed 3 primetime games a year lol. They have sucked forever. Denver got a couple after their nightmare season last year

like I said, not alot, but maybe some.....personally, I'm getting too old to stay up for the TNF/SNF/MNF games!  LOL

Next year would be the year that we could get the Chiefs at home but we won't because we may not win the division

How do you know most games will be Sunday at 1pm?

Maybe because the Bills won't be a favorite next year so likely not to get as many Thursday/SNF/MNF games?   There's a pretty good chance they'll finish 9-8 or 8-9 this year so probably not a lot of national exposure next year.

    Nobody. This guy is bonkers

You build around your top 5 Qb in his prime. You find a GM and coach who will construct the RIGHT team around him. Can’t believe this is even being discussed. Josh Allen is the best QB the bills have ever had and he isn’t even 28 yet.

Jim Kelly?  If I recall he was pretty good and lead a very quick paced and dynamic offense.  HOF I think....

Beginning to unravel? It started when White blew out his Achilles and the season was over when Jones and Milano went down.

It's sad because McD will get another pass due to injuries and we will be stuck with him for 2024.

I'm curious, if not McDonald, who comes in, with this team and makes a difference?
