Haven't seen anything about Edmunds switching position. If I've just missed it ... I still doubt it's seen as an experiment in the way you're suggesting. More the best way to utilize the people who are healthy right now.

I'd guess that cap (and possibly their view of his injury history) would be a lot more important in figuring whether we keep him or Feliciano or Daryl Williams than how Edmunds does in his position.

If he does, IMO it would decrease the possibility that it would be us paying that contract.

I howled last year about cap responsibility. I was shocked when they spent so much money before re-signing Dawkins and Tre, leaving us so little. Now it looks like doing that will hurt us, and more so due to COVID's effect on the cap next year.

The more I think about it, the more I believe that they could choose to dump Jefferson and Butler to keep Mongo and Williams. I mean, they do have Star coming back, and I think Zimmer is an ERFA, so their interior 4 going into the offseason would be those 2 plus Oliver and Harry; not inspiring but not dire straights either.

So you’d basically be looking at having to beef up at DL and LB with tier 3 FAs and the draft, but you’d keep your offense intact save for some role players like McKenzie and Kroft.

Holy hell. Bills may give up 50 points tomorrow.  Only hope is Bills offense wins TOP by 10+ minutes

Ok honestly, had any team in the entire NFL given up 50 yet this year, despite how massively scoring is up across the league?

I think you’re overstating what not having Levi Wallace and Dean Marlowe means by a significant margin.

Buffalo has to run the ball... effectively. Eat up the clock, but then also pass the ball. Gotta confuse there defense. But we can’t get in a shoot out with them.... this is not a good matchup right now.

If the bills can kill the clock and score TDs, great. But also contain Murray, keep him in the pocket. On the RPOs he loves to keep it, I say just always lean on him. Then rally to the RB up the middle.....

    I see what you’re doing here 🤣

On a serious note: same plan as last week—just score every time you touch the ball and you’re very unlikely to lose.

You think Neal can play outside, or no shot?

I think it’s Jackson and Worley on the boundary today. I’m betting Neal takes the Dean Marlowe role. If Hyde can’t go I think you’ll see Jaquan there primarily.

Looking like a lot of Cloud when they go to Cover 3 as opposed to the Sky that they like to mix in...hopefully they can be as effective in their coverage disguises as typical.

When one looks at the numbers, they’ll need to make some cuts if they want to fit both guys under the cap. The only appreciable savings would come from Vernon Butler and Quentin Jefferson, so basically the team has a choice: re-sign Mongo and Williams and go into the offseason needing to rebuild the interior of their front 7, let those two walk and go into the offseason needing to build the right side of their OL and fill in at LB, or a little from each column.

It is possible Morse may retire due to these concussions.    That is a possibility that will play into paying Feliciano and Williams

Morse’s contract contains a portion of 2021 base salary that is guaranteed for injury only, so I believe that would get activated if he has to retire from concussions. That would actually worsen the cap hit for 2021,

so I expect that the team doc will clear him unless is massively irresponsible to do so.

Last season he played 34% of offensive snaps, only 3% this season. That's not much playing time in my book.

Every team will likely have similar difficult decisions to make this offseason. I would expect many 1 year deals while waiting for fans to return.

He only played 34% because he missed 7 games after a high ankle sprain. He had dominated the snap count at RT in the 3 weeks before he got hurt against Miami. He’s a starter in this league when healthy...but you’re correct that it’s a tough situation next year and tough decisions must be made.

Nsekhe has hardly played in the year and a half with the Bills,  I can't imagine when he turns 36, he'll be counted on to be our RT if we lose Williams. Doesn't make much sense.

He had taken over the starting RT job from Ford when he got hurt, and had played more snaps than Ford at RT through 9 games. He hasn’t barely played, and he’s low mileage for a guy that’s 36.

Sure, you probably want to draft someone to compete and eventually take over, but for the sake of having a starting caliber tackle that knows the offense and is trusted by the QB and other OLmen, you can do a heckuva lot worse.

After last year everyone was talking about Milano vs Dawkins....it could come down to Milano vs Williams. If Klein and Edmunds can play another couple of good games together, we may get our answer on Milano.
$10-13mil a year for a Very good RT is a much wiser investment than a banged up LB’er.

I think they’re both goners to be honest. With the cap dropping and the relative ease of filling RT and off-ball LB, they’re more likely to let them walk and take the comp picks. Bring back Ty at RT and draft a few LBs.

The eye ball test is not good with Hyde.  He is routinely called out by the broadcasters as not being in the proper position, you can go back and watch the Tennessee game if you want multiple examples.

The defense has not been good this year.  Hyde has been called out with mistakes, he is not putting up stats, and his PFF is not good.  Seriously, someone tell me where he is supposedly impacting the game?  I could see if our defense was playing lights out, then I can understand saying he is 1/11 of the greater good.  However, he gets to play with a guy like Poyer and White.  In terms of the NFL, Hyde is in bottom tier of FS.  He is getting older, not sure why people get so worked up over it.  It's like they have blinders on for him because he was once our best defender.

Exactly how many times has he been out of position on a pass play? I’m curious because he’s only been targeted 12 times—all season. That’s by far the fewest of the 6 DBs that we’ve called starters (I’m counting both Norman and Levi as well as Taron).

And of those 6 DBs, he’s allowed the fewest completions, for the fewest yards, and fewest YAC.

Seahawks are the only good team we've beat too....if you can even call them a good team.

Wait, “if you can even call them a good team”? Up until we ran them out of our building, they were the #1 seed in the NFC. Who, exactly, do we need to beat to be “proven”? Is it Tennessee, who lost to Cincinnati and the Colts? Maybe KC, who lost to the Raiders at home (a team Buffalo beat on the road)?

Whoa there. That’s nuts unless it’s a 10 year extension structured like Mahomes’ deal.  Even Mahomes is only averaging $28.3M AAV over the next 5 seasons.  Per Spotrac Mahomes 2020-2024 seasons have a cash payout of $141.5M  $28.3M/5=$28.3M

Mahomes new money average was right around 40 IIRC. You know that everyone’s price is going to go up once the COVIDs clear up.

I don't know if Mahomes had any TD's take away but Josh had that Davis play ruled incorrectly so he should also have 26 total TDs.

That play was actually ruled correctly. The penalty was on the opposite side of the field where Diggs was covering up Gilliam. Stupid rule, but clear and obvious penalty.

No contract with guarantees........just basically another roster invite like he has been getting.

Gotta' open up a roster spot for a deep threat to supplement and eventually replace John Brown.

With Brown hobbled this year they have really lacked that 9 route specialist.

Gabe Davis hopefully turns into a very good #2 WR but he doesn't have the deep speed to be that guy........they've tried and he can't get the CB off his hip.

That deep guy doesn't have to be a #1 or #2 but preferably he is fast and at least over 6' and can track the deep ball.

I advocated for drafting Johnny “Juice” Hightower specifically for the go-route role...turns out he tracks the deep ball about as well as I apply makeup 🤣

    https://www.buffalobills.com/video/every-stefon-diggs-catch-from-his-118-yard-game-week-9

about 50 seconds in.  Diggs makes the catch for the first down, gains about 10 yds RAC, and finishes up with a nifty slide.  4 SeaSnakes defenders are closing on him when he slides and they're all like standing around looking a bit confused.  I think on some teams, a few of them would hit Diggs anyway and take their chances that the refs wouldn't call it.

I don't remember if I've ever seen a WR do this.  I guess I thought the "player who gives himself up" and slides rule only applies to QBs, because after all football is a tough game where usually players take pride in fighting for every yard.  But of course we had a good lead at the time and Diggs had just gained another 10 or so YAC.

I didn't know what to think at the time but I decided it's smart savvy football.  Diggs is tough and will make those contested catches where he knows he's going to get hammered and fight for every yard when he needs it; why shouldn't he save his body and slide or go out of bounds when he can? Plus of course he's in the redzone, and if they managed to hold him up and strip the ball it could turn the game.

I was just surprised at the time.  I can't recall seeing another WR do this

    Thoughts?

I feel like Marvin Harrison used to do this fairly often

This is old news about Rachel Bush, and there's absolutely nothing saying it's the reason the trade didn't happen.

Far more likely is that in addition to the picks, Brown wanted a big contract renegotiation and Beane wasn't down with his numbers, and that AB didn't want to play in B'lo unless we REALLY made it worth his while.  Because we know that Brown DID get a big contract from Oakland and there were tweets between Brown and his Agent about not wanting to play in Buffalo.

This is just my opinion: I think it's crappy to dredge this up.  There was a dust-up in summer of 2018 when Poyer apparently cheated on Bush and the two went back and forth a minute on Twitter, ending with a gentlemanly "I'm going to work to put things right" tweet from Poyer that just may have benefited from teammate advice (Lorax, I'm looking at you).

That was two years ago; the AB story was even further back.  The Poyers got married at a young age when Bush got pregnant and they have a young daughter.  Judging by their social media, they have put all this behind them, got their act together, and are happy and loving and having fun and being good parents.

I think it's highly to be commended that they worked through it and are raising their daughter together because this day and age, it's all too common that couples split up over the first thing that goes wrong instead of understanding what a family can bring to your life and that to get that value, like anything else both sides have to put in the work.

Again, just my opinion, but when a couple with a lot of celebrity and public attention and opportunity (to blow up their family), choose to focus on it and "grow up" around it, I think that deserves some public support.

Micah Hyde and Tre White were also pretty influential in Poyer’s decision-making that offseason. Related to this and to his decision not to hold out for a new deal.

apparently, the seahawks' writers think Josh Allen is terrible:

    https://www.fieldgulls.com/2020/11/10/21557591/seattle-seahawks-defense-beaten-buffalo-bills-nfl-film-analysis#comments

It should not surprise you if you’ve watched a few of his games, but Allen plays this whole snap poorly. By stepping away from the largely benign pressure of Collier, he steps into pressure by Dunlap. Having created pressure through poor pocket awareness, he then attempts a rushed throw. His form is awful. He is duck footed and throws off one while swinging the other....

Luckily, I guess, Josh Allen goofs his progression. He looks away from Diggs just as Diggs is breaking free. He then looks a long time at the only receiver Seattle has effectively covered, Gabriel Davis. Finally he finds Devin Singletary. He has a long time to make a bad read....

The pass is inaccurate. Diggs has to slow and bubble backward. Which gives Wagner a desperation attempt at a tackle....

Diggs beat him, loses a ton of ground catching Allen’s garbage pass, and Diggs beats Wagner again...

All I can say is that I hope they never learn...angry Josh is the best Josh, so please keep saying ignorant stuff.

What are the odds that we get Nance and Romo this week? According to NFL.com, there are only 3 games on CBS this week and all are on at 4pm. Nance and Romo have to be doing one of them whch might end up being Chargers vs Dolphins

    Zero—we get Charles Davis though!
