  1. You'd have to assume so, right?
  2. Apparently I'm smarter than I remembered being (can I blame all of the recent 3 a.m. baby feedings?):
  3. His option was declined, so he'll hit the market on March 13th sans a new deal: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/03/05/rams-dont-pick-up-john-sullivans-option/ Adds some volume to the FA center market, which is good news for Buffalo
  4. Wilkins should most certainly be in play at 9.
  5. Just so you all know: you need to watch out for my boys Julian Love and Bobby Okereke they can play.
  6. I believe the plan was to play Wynn at LT, but he got hurt. I also believe that's why they haven't made much of an effort to re-sign Trent Brown.
  7. That's not what the post I responded to said, and as I said, there are many ways to build the line. Regardless, I'm all for fixing the OL in FA. There's enough volume at guard and tackle to do so.
  8. Nope...you said that they let Solder walk for a 5th rounder; they didn't. Their plan was to replace him with a first-round pick.
  9. I think the biggest takeaway regarding building an OL is that there's no one way to do it right. Teams like Dallas use multiple first-round picks over several years to accumulate talent, and it works. Teams like NE use multiple mid-round picks over several years to accumulate talent, and it works. Teams like the Rams identify key FAs in a single offseason that fit their scheme (Whitworth, Sullivan, Blythe) and sign them to big contracts, and it works. The important thing is that the team identify talented players that fit their scheme, and invest whatever is necessary to get them in the fold.
  10. Actually, they spent the 22nd overall pick in last year's draft on Solder's replacement--he just happened to get hurt and Trent Brown stepped in
  11. He'd make a decent TE2; a guy that can block and make a play or two in the red zone
  12. Let's see what the money looks like--my guess back in December was $2.5-$3.5M per
  13. I absolutely agree with the bold, which is why I have guys like Oliver, Williams, and Wilkins listed. The impact of interior pass rushers like Aaron Donald and Chris Jones is as much of a factor in disrupting QBs as the EDGE guys.
  14. For me, the best usage of a top-10 pick is on a franchise QB. Obviously, that's not where Buffalo is going this year, and that's fine. The next best usage IMO is on a game-changing offensive playmaker, pass rusher, or corner. When I try to evaluate who has the best chance of being a game-changer in the NFL, I'm looking to optimize between a track-record of playing the position at a high level in college and the eye-popping measurables (and, of course, you want the intangibles as well). So, when I look at the top-10 talent non-QBs in this class (listed, in no particular order, below), who checks the boxes? Nick Bosa Quinnen Williams Josh Allen DK Metcalf Josh Jacobs Ed Oliver Christian Wilkins Jawaan Taylor Rashan Gary Devin White Jeffrey Simmons TJ Hockenson For me, the guys I think qualify as having both a track-record of playing the position at a high level in college and the eye-popping measurables, and can fill one of the critical roles of offensive playmaker, pass-rusher, or corner, are: Bosa, Williams, Allen, Jacobs, Oliver, Wilkins, and Simmons. I'm leery of guys that do incredibly stupid things off the field, so Simmons probably falls off my board. I'm also not huge on first-round RBs given the shelf-life, so Jacobs wouldn't be my guy either. That leaves Bosa, Williams, Allen, Oliver, and Wilkins for me. I thin there's probably an 80% chance that one of them is there at 9, so that's where I'd go at this point.
  15. So you do believe that I'm shooting from the hip then. Well, you're mistaken. And I haven't trashed him. At all. Man some of you folks are sensitive.
  16. I think Cleveland goes Hollywood if he's there--their version of Tyreek. If he's gone, then yeah, I could see Parris in that slot
  17. Oh yeah, he's a process guy for sure. Really don't think he's there at 40 though
  18. Still think JaWuan James is the guy Buffalo ends up with. I'm fine with Daryl too though. Starting to feel better about the depth at center in the draft though. If they can come away from FA with a starting RT and guard (even if it's Q Spain), then I'll be encouraged. Get a center on day 2 (any of Risner or Eric McCoy would do).
  19. With how smooth and explosive out of the blocks he is, I have almost no concern with his downfield game. The dropsies do worry me, but it's not epidemic-level. I also think that Daboll would view him as an ideal chess piece for his scheme
  20. Having his college OL coach in the fold can't do anything but help.
  21. @YoloinOhio is going to flip, but I spent the day watching Parris Campbell, and I think he's creeping up my board. I don't think he's there at 40 for Buffalo. He might not even be there at 30.
  22. Every other guy that you mentioned was a productive player in college. DK was not.
  23. Some of us have seen the height/weight/speed guy that can't run 60% of the route tree thing played out before, and we'd like to see the guy be able to play the position.
  24. Yes mockdraftable is a website that has them
  25. Yup. Edmunds could be an all pro EDGE defender if he's allowed to play in a Donta Hightower type role. Not that he's BAD as a Mike, but lesser athletes with better instincts can do that job. To be the kind of hellacious EDGE defender that dominates on Sunday, ya gotta have an ATHLETE
