Wow. That's clearly LT money, so they must be moving Kolton Miller to RT.

Raiders trade G Kelechi Osemele to Jets

I would think so, yeah...and, in fact, he's a great candidate to be the interior backup. -

Maybe I've missed it then, because I (and a few others) simply said "great move for the Jets; wish we'd have done this" -

That's a gigantic misrepresentation of what most people are saying here. -

They paid Spencer Long backup money. He's a contingency plan in case they don't secure 3 new starters between FA and the draft. -

Sure, that's a good point. Same player, bad scheme last year. -

John, this isn't about trashing the GM or claiming all is lost. The point, which I'll now have stated at least thrice in this thread, is that this is the type of ultra low risk/high reward move that a savvy GM should be making every now and again. To see it happen within our own division is disappointing when the Bills have more picks and equal cap room. Yes, FA hasn't started, but EVERY team can make FA offers, and how likely is Buffalo to be at the top of a player's desired destinations? Trades don't leave that up to chance. -

I actually didn't criticize Beane. I said that I was disappointed that a very good player went to a division rival for a literal pittance when this team has a bigger need. FA could certainly bring a haul on the OL, there's decent market volume, but you're competing against the league, and you have the worst offense in football to offer in a city that's largely perceived as being relatively undesirable by players. A trade, on the other hand, leaves nothing to chance. -

Apparently...but as a team with 10 draft picks, $80M in cap space, and a MASSIVE need for veteran OL talent, I'd have been willing to do so. And that wasn't really the point. The greater point is that this is more or less a risk-free move to acquire a guy one-year removed from being a top-3 guard...yet you feel like fans who ask why our GM doesn't make these types of moves deserve to be criticized. Who's wrong here? -

Well, I don't know what "people" would be saying, but when I floated the idea of offering a 4th for this exact player 3 months ago nobody took issue. -

What's so ridiculous? The Jets got a guy that was one of the best guards in football 2 years ago for almost nothing, and it was a trade that was discussed on this very board as a great idea for the Bills as far back as December. That's ridiculous how, exactly? -

The thing that bothers me about both trades is that they were the types of moves that "football minds" should see coming miles away. And for all I know, Beane may have. BUT, a GM thats prepared to be aggressive to surround his young QB with the best talent base possible would've easily been able to pull of these or similar moves. -

Good grief... I said he'd come cheap, but I didn't realize that they'd literally give him away -

I'll admit I've uttered a few curse words over these trades Maybe we can settle for Rodney Hudson if they're still determined to get rid of good OLmen -
Steelers shopping RT Marcus Gilbert

Fortunately, we don't have to speculate on this, since NextGenStats keeps track of everything you two are discussing. First, no, Ben does not hold the ball long: https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/stats/passing#average-time-to-throw ^ Tied for the fastest average snap-to-release time in football last year Second, no, teams aren't backing away from the run against Pittsburgh, as James Conner faced 8+ in the box on almost 28% of his carries, which ranked 11th out of all qualifying backs in 2018: https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/stats/rushing#percent-eight-defenders -

Are you sure that this is true? -
That's a big yes if he's healthy It's a good year to be a team that needs OL help...these cuts have put a lot of volume into the market.
-
Agreed on all accounts. I'd be perfectly happy with either "Hands" Wilkins or Oliver.
-
BPA my friend; well, BPA at a key position (i.e. WR, corner, or pass rusher since they obviously won't be going QB). And if that BPA is still an interior DLman, so be it.

I would take him
