For the sake of football fans everywhere, I hope NBC wises up and decides not to flex this game. This year's Bills team is like that guy in "The Cooler". Whenever they show up on a football field, they suck the life out of the entire atmsophere - Buffalo players, opposing players, and fans alike. Even Gus Johnson is calm.

You all must just be too young to remember.
Nice - I remember this quirk, too. It sometimes led to discussion about teams not wanting to win towards the end of the season so they could alter their seeding. So they've fixed that problem - but we still have teams not playing their best players if they're already locked into a seed. But it's still way better than baseball. Can you imagine if the Pro Bowl determined home field advantage in the playoffs?

17-17 going into overtime, each team gets a possession.
Three things I like about the UFL:
1. They are not trying to go toe to toe with the NFL. They know they can't possibly win that fight, so they are trying to position themselves as something like a AAA or AA baseball league
2. I like the college-style replay system. The NFL system just takes way too much time
3. The overtime rules make so much sense, why can't the NFL do something similar?

Would you take Mike Vick/Dick Jauron or Trent Edwards/anybody else?

That's not grammar "Nazi." That's not even grammar "French surrender monkey." It's not like you're being overly picky, or that the distinction between "are" and "our" is hypertechnical. It's pretty freaking basic. The words aren't even pronounced the same way.
Maybe he thought he was being clever, by saying all of them are really problems. On second thought...Nah!

Ball on the 50, 4:30 left in the game. They move the ball 20 yards and play for a 46 yard FG into the wind for the win. On that alone, he should be fired. How do you not try to get closer? We had a minute left and let the clock run down while running the ball once??
You'd think he would have learned from the MNF Cleveland game last year when he did the exact same thing...

Roger Goodell (close to Buffalo at least). Then he could be like Bud Selig - own a team and do the commissioner thing at the same time - no conflict of interest there.

For whatever reason, Buffalo always manages to play to the level of their competition. Of course, against the good teams they still manage to come up a little short. This game reminds me a little bit of last year's game at the Jets. The supposed experts were giving us no shot, but somehow we managed to be in contention to win at the end. Even though I'd never bet my hard earned money on this lousy team, it wouldn't surprise me if they play above themselves on Sunday...

......trying to build a fan base in LA??
Been there, done that. Check a few pages back - we already talked about this...

I just checked out the NFL distribution map for this week's Jets-Bills game. The majority of the country is getting the NE-Tenn game, except for NY, NJ, Florida, and Southern California. Why would they decide to show this game in LA instead of the national game with Phill Simms & Jim Nantz?

In Trents presser after the game he was asked something along the lines of,
"if you where a Bills fan, adn spent good money on a ticket, would you boo the Bills for thier performance today?"...
his response: "I cant answer that, I am not a Bills fan, I am a football player"
maybe I am just blowing this out of proportion, i am sure a press conference is tough after such a bad game, but that made me furious. he plays awful for his last 10 or so starts for the city that sells out every game to watch nothing but bs performance, and the first thing out of his mouth is I am not a Bills fan. C'mon man we pay your bills, and you are going to spit in our face. He can get the fug out of here with his bff dick.
TO was asked the same question, and he said yes he would definitely boo...honest and respectable answer
Once again we have a quote taken out of context. he said "I'm not a Bills fan, I'm a Bills player". He did not say he doesn't like the Bills. Even so, I'm surprised he said even that. Historically his comments seem to be pretty bland, but this time his attempt to be bland backfired.

"Prediction? Pain!" Clubber Lang, Rocky III... P.S. note correct spelling of the word "prediction"

Flutie and JP! Now I'm really interested!
I wonder if the reason they keep mispronouncing JP's name is because he's changed it from LOSSman to "LOEWSman" (that's the best I could do phonetically) - like Joe Theismann changed his name to sound like "Heisman"...

I don't know if this is a commentary on the pathetic state of the Bills, the lack of quality TV, the boring nature of baseball, or just that I'm a loser (probably all four), but I'm looking forward to the game. I might even place a bet...

Senator, I know you hate Peters, but shouldn't the facts have something to do with your assessment? Your numbers are waaaaaaaay off:
http://profootballfocus.com/by_position.ph...&numgames=1
According to these guys, he's allowed 1 sack in 3 games and is the highest overall rated lineman in the NFL. That doesn't seem like failure to me...
This is a great site - I'll have to bookmark it. The one problem I have with numbers-based systems like this (similar to the QB rating) is that you can't measure intangibles. I see Kirk Chambers is rated highly by this chart - but the chart must not have been watching the Bills game last week.

Well, at least we don't have to hear Solomon Wilcots this week. He's been relegated to Jacksonville-Seattle. We get Don Criqui and Randy Cross. That's a nice upgrade. I don't know what we did to deserve this - maybe CBS is trying to cut down on their mileage reimbursement for Criqui.
-
No team is better than this current team.
As frustrated as I am, I know I'll be in front of my TV with my ice cold home-brewed beer cheering for Buffalo on Sunday. We'll probably have to deal with Solomon Wilcots and the "Bee-oos" as an announcer, but that's what happens when the team doesn't win.
-
My second favorite team - Washington. It seems so long ago when I fondly remember my two favorite teams playing in the Super Bowl.
-
3 games in and we're already talking about next year...Great...
-
Great - we get Solomon Wilcots this week. I'll even take the CBS "B" team of Enberg & Fouts. Instead we get Harlan & Wilcots. That sounds like a law firm

Dolphin

how sad
That's haiku?

Chad is the QB
It doesn't matter which Chad
Either way we'll lose

I can think of at least one more team. Uh, Music City Miracle, Dallas Cowboys MNF game, New England game when Bledsoe was quarterback (I remember a really lousy call by the officials in that game that gave Bledsoe a chance to win), Ronnie Harmon dropped pass, 4th Down delay of game penalty after Ferguson converted the first down, OK, back to the game now...
I knew it...I knew when I was typing this the other day that we are due for another heartbreaker. Oddly enough, I was able to get over this latest NE meltdown fairly quickly. The Cowboys MNF disaster really stayed with me for a while. That's because I really thought we had that game won. Tonight, even with the 11 point lead, then the 5 point lead - any follower of the Bills knew the chances were pretty good that something would go wrong...
