Well that didn't last long. Merriman looked like he got hurt...
-
Now Cassell is hurt?
The breaks are falling our way?
This year could be fun

Another poster falls prey to Crayonz...
I fell to the "Maroon" comment a few months ago. I'm still kicking myself over that one...

Week 1 is finally here. Here goes:
The season starts now
Merriman, please don't get hurt
If you don't, we win

That's 7 AFC Teams. If we can steal 2 more Div. games, we COULD be playing in January..
We WILL be playing in January. Week 17, that is, at New England...

I really think the new kickoff rule is going to help teams like Buffalo. My theory is that scoring drives will need to be longer, so overall scoring will be lower (more field goals and fewer touchdowns). If the Bills defense is really improved, then I can see us keeping games close and possibly win some of the close games that we lost last year.

walla, you're at the floor of the cap
Voila

Fitzgibbons has been hitting the gym. He looks like he really beefed up in the offseason.
I thought he said he shaved his beard? This is a lighter version of last year's - I wonder what his strategy is. I love talking football again!

What is a "maroon"?

You guys just don't get it do you? Harold Camping was right all along. It's beautiful up here. You can tell your Muslim friends that there's no truth to that 72 virgin thing.
I thought it was 72 vegans?

Draft night is tonight
I hope they get a QB
Just not Cam Newton

Ah those were the days: A good/very good GM, a pretty good defense, and a potential franchise QB. Oh how the times have changed.
Not to mention the Empire Sports Network. I never appreciated that until it was gone...

Am I the only one who enjoyed the replacement games in 1987? OK, the games were about as well played as high school football, but I like high school football! I still remember the Giants-Bills game in Buffalo - the game where Lawrence Taylor crossed the picket line to play. It was a fun game - was it Todd Schlopy who kicked the winning field goal for Buffalo? Or how about the Monday Night game where Bill Walsh had his replacement quarterback run the option for the 49ers, and all Bill Parcells could do was laugh. Who would have thought that 20 years later the wildcat would be so popular?
I've read that during the last CBA, both sides agreed that they wouldn't use replacement players. But now that there is no union, isn't that agreement out the window?
I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I'm a fan of the city, the team colors, and the logo. As long as the players wearing Buffalo's uniform get them to the playoffs, I'm OK with that...

Maybe it's the FBI expanding their anti-terrorism task force, now that they've shut down those sites that stream NFL games live. Two Bills Drive is next on their list. There probably wasn't much esle going on in the world - not like there's turmoil in the Middle East or anything like that...

Given Fitz's numbers, I thought this year he ascended. Then again, ascending/descending, it's all relative.
Now that's funny. I thought Fitz "ascended" against New England (the 1st game), Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, but he "descended" against New England (the 2nd game), the Jets, and Minnesota. For the other games he played, I thought he was "decent".

If Pats win and Steelers lose next week Pats will have home field advantage locked up by the time we roll in to Foxboro.
If we roll in to Foxboro, I predict the Pats won't even show up (they'll be in Buffalo)...

Should I watch the game?
My wife wants to watch the leaves
I might go with her

Since Jim Harbaugh and Jim Kelly had that alleged 'fisticuffs' maybe Harbaugh will persuade Luck to stay at Stanford another year?
I just finished reading the latest SI article about the Harbaugh brothers, and I was curious about the comment that said Jim H. went after Jim Kelly when Kelly supposedly insinuated that Jim H was not giving 100% effort (something like that). So does anyone know what the full story is behind this?

I took a week off from Haiku, because it's no fun when the team is lousy. But since last week's game was interesting until late in the 4th quarter, I'll give it another shot. Here goes:
What's my prediction?
The DB's will come to play
And Rex will eat wings

Actually the reason i got that feeling is because of this:

Maybe Buffalo can sign this Julio Cesar guy to rush the passer - it sounds like he can play some defense. P.S. Who names their kid "Julio Cesar"?
-
Agreed he isn't going to go out and say WOW those guys really suck I know why we always beat them because they are just so terrible. No he makes some smart but bland comments/complements.
I remember last year - before the first game they were raving about Fred Jackson. I think Brady even referred to him as "Mr. Jackson".

its hard to win in the nfl
Brett Favre had a similar quote after the loss to Miami. He was talking about he knows it's going to be difficult to duplicate last season. His quote was "it's hard to repeat wins"...

Good to see Merriman back. They missed him...
