  1. Didn't the Bills have a couple of LBers with the mullett and pornostache thing happening too... i think one was Ray Bentley and did Conlan sport that look also?

    1. 1980s Brian Boswerth - Best mullet ever

    2. Mitch Ferrote's super long mullet and stache

    3. Joe Dirt's Mullet

  2. I must confess. The Doc has his practice in Cortland.... and a half mile (as the crow flies) from the SUNY Cortland Fields/stadium

Dump? Yep... but, no more so than Albany, Buffalo, Troy, Schenectady, Binghamton, Syracuse, Amsterdam, Canajoharie, Auburn, Elmira, Corning, Geneva, Seneca Falls, Little Falls, Hudson Falls, Niagara Falls... yada yada yada.

You may remember when a candidate for NY governor Spitzer made his famous Rte 5 tour and the controversy after he characterized that trip as a trip through "Appalachia". Fact is... chop the state off at the northern borders of Rockland and Putnam County and, my friends, you have the poorest state in the country...period.

Keep electing these democrat pieces of schitt... in NY, the sun only shines downstate... the !@#$ing legislature... which is the laziest and most corrupt in the galaxy, doesn't want to deal with the fact that NY is bi modal and because of that a separate set of rules and regulations need to apply.

Brain drain? Who the !@#$ can blame our kids for getting the hell out this state?

    Nice work

  3. Besides Mort, who else do you think has it out for the Bills?

For me its Rod Woodson from NFL Network. I can't remember him ever praising anything the Bills have done (at least not recently)

    Solomon Wilcox

He still can't pronounce Buffalo Bills. He says, Buffalo Beills. Get a new job dude.

  4. I went to college there. The OP speaks the truth. It seems odd that they would hold training camp there.

The Jets probably figured it would be alot easier to get there hands on some juice. Courtland State is one of the most juiced out schools in the country. They probably have the highest needles per ass ratio in all of the land.

  5. Well, I don't really think any offense would ever be "afraid" of facing off against a Cover 2 defense. The system is supposed to be more about giving teams fits and causing confusion (and theoretically interceptions) than playing smashmouth football.

I'd equate our defense with a crafty pitcher who throws 85 mph with a pretty nice curveball. He CAN be dominant if he hits his spots, but if anything goes wrong he'll get hit hard. This is opposed to a power blitzing 3-4 defense, which is the flamethrower.

Great analogy. Thank you for pointing this out. I'm assuming you play or have played football on a higher level.

I've been pointing this out for years now. This 4-3 "tampa 2" defense is the most impractacle defense in the NFL - ever. Holy sh--, it worked in Tampa, and it worked in Indy. Worst defense ever unless you are talented or lucky enough to pick the right players to fit the scheme. 3-4 needs are much easier to fill.

    1. We don't have the talent on our interior D-line. A 4-3 requires an all pro tackle and all pro 3 technique.

    2. We don't have the talent at D-end to rush the pass with no LB pressure

    3. Poz can run to cover deep middle, but Ellison is awful and could never cover any NFL #3 and he's shown that.

    4. Fewell doesn't even know when or how to call a zone blitz

  6. We had a playoff defense last year...so considering we are healthy and have a lot more talent IMO with a strong draft and our vets like Schobel back, this is an easy yes.

Anyone who thinks we missed the playoffs last year because of our defense wasnt watching the games. Our Defense played well enough for us to win, and the only game we were blown out of was AZ. Our offense couldnt score points and THAT is why we missed the playoffs. Our offense was a pathetic in majority of the last 8 games...

You dont have to be a top 5 D to make the playoffs.

Defense wins championships. If you cant score, you cant win.

However, I agree that in a lot of games, our defense did play well enough to win games. Our offense sucked. That San Fransisco game might have been the most pitiful offensive performance I've ever seen by Buffalo.

Defense wins championships though. Look at the Giants vs Pats Superbowl. The Pats were unstoppable on offense until they ran into the Giants D-line.

  7. I really like the fact that we addressed our interior line. The AFC east is full of pro bowl caliber nose gaurds. Ferguson, Jenkins and Wilfork all wreacked havoc last year on our O-line. TO is going to make a world of difference when it comes to opening up the field.

Our draft looked good. Are young guys like Mckelvin, Poz and Trent going to step up to the plate? The bell is ringing, who is going to answer?

    Only time will tell.

  8. There are players and coaches from other teams over the years i have liked and rooted for ( especially fantasy guys )

but if they arent wearing a Buffalo uniform its not the same.....I still get sick picturing Thurmans Dulphins jersey

Im picking up what you're laying down. There are individual players I have rooted for throughout the years.

I always liked the way John Elway played.

Their are two Bills players in my mind that never got a lot of love but were great players. Carwell Gardner and Kenny Davis. Frank Reich is the best back up QB in the history of the NFL. I'm talking legitimate #2 guy. Not guys that have gone on to be starters.

ps. I just threw up in my mouth. Please don't mention Thurman as a Dolphin again. I blocked that out.

  9. I live in SW Fla now, originally from Buffalo, so my hatred for the Dolphins still runs deep, even thought the rivalry isnt what it used to be. I love going to Miami every year for the game and there is usually just as many Buffalo fans there. And yes Miami fans still have no class in winning, or in losing. Must be the redneck mentality that most of their fans have. ( Florida Crackers as they refer to themselves )...so yeah team i still hate most...Miami, but the Cheatriots are a close second.

Coach:......Bill Belicheat.....NO CLASS at all as evident in the famous SuperBowl defeat walk off...i want to take off his damn hoody and choke him with it, smug a$$ s.o.b.

Player:......Louis Oliver.......Hell of a player who seemed to play his best games against Buffalo, I was torn, i wanted to put Tom Brady, but thats just too obvious, until we beat him, I cant say much.

Giants - Went to school downstate w all Giants fans. Non-stop harrassment. Even though the Bills are the only real NY team. Live in Boston today with friends (Giants fans) from school. Still hate the Giants.

Hostetler - He got away from Bruce in the endzone in Superbowl 25. In my mind, sticks out more than #11's miss fieldgoal.

Parcells - Completely changed his game plan and ran the ball the entire second half to keep the ball out of the hands of our K-gun offense.

If you can't tell. I have some unresolved Buffalo Bills issues. I need to accept that loss and move on. It's just so hard to think about what could have been, had we won that game.

  10. Really? You responded to the original post of an 11 page thread? Really?

Isn't the original post the first one you read? Sorry dude. I couldn't get past the semi-name drop, self-importance of the email.

Relax, just because I made you look like a highschool girl caring about he said she said nonsense doesn't mean you have to act like one.

  11. I'm not in the slightest bit ashamed of my support of Dick Jauron.

The reasons I support Dick (couldn't help the dick joke) were once again confirmed tonight.

Just one more person who's worked with Jauron and who has nothing but praises for him. My source is an informed guy. He considers Dick a friend from Dick's time here in Chicago. He knows him professionally. He's seen Jauron in the locker room. He referred to him as the one of the most "under rated coaches in the league."

I feel bad blowing up my source in light of recent events, if you're truly curious about his identity, you're welcomed to PM me and I'll give you all the details about my source, so long as he stays private.

I won't respond to your PM if I've never heard of you.

This is all arbitrary. A coach is measured on wins. He has surrounded himself with sh^tty coordinators, made bad gametime decisions, and has not brought the team even close to the playoffs...but he has merit.

The only testament we need to his coaching ability is the ability to bring us to the promised land.

  12. I'd much rather have a proven pass rushing hybrid who could possibly go down then start the season with Keith Ellison.

Keith Ellison is the worst starter in the NFL. He's not even a starter. Crowell was the starter. Ellison is horrible.

It sounds like Harris is a Coy Wire type. I always hope for the best but it's hard to have confidence in the decisions the Bills make year after year because the decisions made aren't getting us to the playoffs. The Tampa - 2 scheme is silly if we don't have or aquire the right players to fit the defense.

Does anybody know what if any top 5 defenses in 08 were running the tampa-2?

  13. I haven't dissappeared, I am still here and the FO still sucks. This years draft seems ok on the surface, and I hope it pans out, but it wouldn't be the first one that looked good 2 days after the draft, but then washed. It was a long time before anyone in Bills Nation doubted Mike Williams. Two years ago Losman was our savior, look how that turned out. Let's just hope, but one decent, not great draft on paper won't make him go from terrible to great that quick.

FO sucks and will continue to suck until we get to the playoffs. If we make it to the playoffs, Russ Brandon will earn the respect due.

  14. This guy had a great college career. He is hands down better than Ellison. I know he went undrafted but its because hes undersized. He is a tackling machine and is the career all time leader at Hawaii. I really think he had a chip on his shoulder for not getting drafted and invited to the combine. Hes legit and Buffalo is great to pick him up

    http://hawaiiathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2365

Here are his stats. Pretty impressive. He has a nose for the ball. Hoprfully, it works out.

  15. Those aren't even close. Also, Freeney ran a 4.38 at the Combine.

What did Bruce Smith run the 40 in? I'd be surprised if Bruce Smith ran sub 4.9. We all know how nasty Bruce was. Bruce ate QB's up. Speed is not the only variable when it comes to sacking a QB. As a matter of fact, I'd be surprised if any of the top 3 NFL all time sack leaders ran sub 4.8.

And a 4.38/40 is faster than 95% of the WR/RB/DB's in the NFL. That number is either made up, or Freeney is playing the wrong position.

  16. The strengthening of the interior suggests they want to run the ball. I sure hope so. An effective running game should make the passing attack more effective, too.

To that point, we need great interior line players to run the ball against our conference opponents. The AFC east has some great nose tackles. A strong interior line will give us some push. Especially against a 3-4 defense.

  17. Good analysis. Especially about Reed, Parrish. The next big thing is our coordinators. Does Schonert still call for shotgun/empty backfield on 2nd/3rd and short or actually make the defense play both the run and pass. Does Fewell try something different besides rushing the same 4 guys every down and keep our secondary in soft zone coverage?

I think it's safe to say the coaches have a lot more talent to work with this year. That said, Schonert and Fewell have no excuses. The addition of T.O. alone, changes how teams game plan against our offense. Along with Schonert, Trent has no excuses this year on the offensive side of the ball.

Fewell has a healthy Schoebel, and arguably the best pass rusher in this years draft. Poz is headed into his 3rd year, we have a lot of depth in the secondary, and the Ellison issue was addressed (somewhat).

The question remaining to be answered: Can our current staff provide playoff caliber coaching?

Wins will not come easy this year. The AFC East and NFC South are arguably the two strongest conferences in the NFL.

  18. I don't understand why some are so worried about who the Bills will draft considering how many NEEDS they have. They traded their best OT and now want to trade a starting WR and DE.Then they dumped the only good starting blocking TE in Royal. I's suspect the Bills will select the best available player that fits their needs,it all depends on how the draft shakes out.

When they selected Whitner they took the 59th best rated player to fill a need at safety,so i have no doubt they will draft for a need position again bscause they need to fill so many poitions and TE is one of them.

It might even be CB Malcom Jenkins

    1. Aaron Curry OLB

    2. Jason Smith OT

    3. Michael Crabtree WR

    4. B.J. Raji DT ***

    5. Eugene Monroe OT ***

    6. Aaron Maybin DE ***

    7. Matthew Stafford QB*

    8. Mark Sanchez QB*

    9. Brian Orakpo DE***

    10. Andre Smith OT***

    11. Jeremy Maclin WR**

    12. Knowshon Moreno RB---

    13. Malcolm Jenkins CB**

    14. Tyson Jackson DE

    15. Robert Ayers DE***

    16. Chris Wells RB---

    17. Brandon Pettigrew***

    Whitner or Ngota...big pick

  19. Again, the homeless guy who coached NE was 41-55 (43% winning %) before Brady. Dick Jauron's winning 43%. Additionally, Jeff Fisher has had 8 non-winning seasons out of 15. And Fisher, IMO, is the best head coach in football.

But we obviously know Jauron is the worst coach ever and would suck even if he had Tom Brady or Steve McNair. And the brilliant minds of Belichick & Fisher would have had the same exact success with the likes of Jim Miller, Cade McNown, and JP Losman.

The biggest problem is the player personell decisions that have been made for the last 10 years in Buffalo. We need a winner behind center, and a defense that can deliver. Jauron's lack of emotion doesn't bother me nearly as much as Turk Schonerts predictable play calling and Perry Fewells conservative defense.

Winning franchises expect to win and have great owners and leadership. I feel like the attitude in Buffalo every year is "this is a building year". I hope the players develop the right chemistry and attitude in the locker room. If that happens, we have a chance to overcome the poor leadership in Buffalo.

  20. Do any of you go to church on Sundays during the fall (when the Bills play)? I recently spoke with a Buffalo native who shared how sad it is there now, because few fans go to church on Sundays. For the residents of Buffalo, was he telling the truth? With a 1PM start time, I would assume people would have time to go to church and still make the game in person. That, or they could tivo/dvr the game and start it a few minutes late. I often do this on Sundays and I catch up to the real game time rather quickly after skipping the commercials. Just curious.

How can you get your 1 o'clock bets in if you are at church up until 1.
