  1. I am not disagreeing with the fact that the Redskins have more cash over the cap, but that isn't my argument. I am saying that teams like Dallas, Washington, etc, can go after big ticket free agents every year because of their cash over the cap capabilities. Buffalo should be able to make pushes for these same players every 2-3 years, because we don't keep our own talent when they price Buffalo out of the running (ie Clements). But on the years where we are 27 million under the cap, and with several salaries we could unload (ie Kelsay, Ko Simpson), we should be vying for Haynesworth or Housh. And still have money to extend peters, etc. We just don't do it. We sign 3-4 non impact players.
  2. Don't kid yourself. Ralph Wilson has been making a lot of money for a very long time. Certainly the Redskins generate more money, but that is a separate issue. What I am saying is Ralph can afford to spend to the cap, and we don't. Snyder does, and it would fun to be a fan. The post I was responding to was alluding that Snyder runs a chaotic organization because he goes after big name FA's. I disagree, and would think his fan base has a lot of fun knowing their owner will sign big ticket players. I would be digressing if I didn't make mention that I think we are more than capable of signing these type of free agents on a more regular basis than we do, and we just don't.
  3. Once again another great post. I agree, I would much rather have a guy play real bad for 16 games. Than a guy that plays off the charts great for 8. This way you don't have to worry about a big drop off in play, just start out and end that way.
  4. You're right. Teams should use us as the model. Don't spend too much, because it might not work out. Spend very little and hope it's enough.
  5. Willing to spend and willing to spend to get great players is different too.
  6. Yep, he shouldn't sign free agents that excite the fan base. He should give his fan base crumbs of hope, and make the most money he can.
  7. Can you verify he has been tendered for the "max dollars"? I heard it was likely the Texans will, but I can't find it any where that they have yet.
  8. You act like he is such a dominant player, he can demand to play for a playoff team. He will have 2 or 3 teams interested in him at the price he wants. You're an idiot.
  9. Your comment is less than useless. Yes I would give a discount to a team that has known me from the start. Less likelihood of getting cut after I don't meet the expectations of an 8 mil/year contract from a team that expects me to be a star. Greer is good not great. Take the 5 million a year the Bills should offer and play the entire contract out with a team that paid me what I was worth. In my opinion, there is actually a difference between what the market lends and what a player is worth.
  10. You can't name more than three players that left for that reason. Yes it's true certain guys wouldn't come here, no different than there are certain guys we wouldn't invite. I think there have been enough players around the league past and present for there to be an understanding of what it's like to play for Buffalo. Buffalo is a great football city to play in, if the player lives up to his potential, works hard, does the right thing, and is a good team mate. Ask Stroud if he liked playing for the Jaguars better. I'll answer for him no. Have you ever been to Jacksonville? Piss off on your comments.
  11. I haven't heard of Fios. Is it for internet or for television?
  12. He will never choose Buffalo, even if we offer the most money.
  13. You're wrong, they paid him based on potential which was generous. Then he became a very good player, is that the Bills fault? I for one see both sides point of view and think both have an argument, and both have acted foolishly. But come off the Bills got a steal because Peter's agent was an idiot.
  14. My best guess is that there is a real possibility Parrish is let go.
  15. No, it's that he has two pass defenses in 3 years.
  16. It's DE and it's not close. Schobel isn't even a good DE. Ever since he dropped almost 25 lbs from 3 season's ago, he can't even put up irrelevant sacks anymore. He never was a game changer even when his sack total was in the double digits. For those of you who think we got just as incompetent and ineffective play out of Edwards have gone plain mad, he played pretty good for a second year guy. Especially considering the coaching staff and a below average receiving core.
  17. Wouldn't it be awful if they had a sophomore slump?
  18. There isn't anything else to be but selfish, when you are a free agent. I don't condemn him for that.
  19. Staying consistent with the wise guy thing, it would be "definitely" staying.
  20. Here is my problem with your argument... Reed shouldn't be a number 2 receiver, he should be the slot. Therefore a true number 2, in my mind is the other outside receiver. In saying that we need help because that guy needs to be Johnson or Hardy. That isn't enough for me. We need to pursue a receiver over 6' 2", that is physical to demand at least a little bit of attention.
  21. I don't disagree with you that Bruce outplayed Bryant. I disagree with your assessment of Bruce that he is a senior citizen and should automatically be outplayed. Here are his stats from 2006, 2007, and 2008. He is still a good player. 2006 - 74/1098 2007 - 55/733 2008 - 61/835
  22. Yeah, they announced this on ESPN 3 weeks ago. I didn't believe it until you confirmed it just now.
