Their very first offensive play of the game was a gadget play to Worthy with a ton of misdirection. The first play of the game! When I saw that, I thought to myself, "they're not out here to impose their will; they don't think they can beat us straight up." And the second play: pressure and a pick. Later in the *first half* they threw a first-down pass to an eligible tackle. That's the kind of thing you do when you want to score points or when you want to be a dick, not to just pick up a few yards in the middle of the field. As much as I want to buy the narrative of Reid trolling us, I think that was more a byproduct of their game plan than a conscious effort to troll. They knew we were going to focus on taking Kelce and DHop out of the offense, and Worthy was simply the best other option they had. It worked for a little while, and then it didn't, and they were done.

It was hard to shake the feeling last night that New York had one script and Land Clark's crew had another. I almost feel like Clark's crew was waiting for the booth to buzz down -- expected it, even -- and when it didn't happen, they called the penalty to even things out ... probably to the consternation of New York. I'm fine with it.
