Oh poor Braves fans! I feel so bad for you guys and your decade and a half of dominance in the NL East. A friend of mine here in Ithaca is from Atlanta, and he's starting to cop the same attitude about the Braves, bitching at every chance he gets. Why do fans from winning teams who have one bad season get to act like this?

The Vikings have the best backfield in football. The Fins are somewhere in the top 10, but it's a difficult thing to rank. However, the combo of Peterson and Taylor has to be #1. I'd put the Giants at #2, but only because I think their efficiency has more to do with the O-line than the actual runners. Where do you come up with the Fins having hte #1 backfield?

I'm not trying to be smug, but they are nowhere CLOSE to being even halfway decent. They have one good wide receiver, and then every single other facet of the team is simply awful. Yes, Millen is gone, but the damage he caused will take years upon years upon years to fix.

Again, best completion percentage in NFL history. He has no arm, but he makes it work. I respect the man, and so do his teammates. They refer to him as "Coach Pennington".

And you lose all credibility when you suggest that a trusted and venerable sports journalist "doesn't get it". It's good to know that you lose all respect for somebody when they don't share your opinion. But yeah, you're more knowledgeable than a football journalist.

I wouldn't really be a "fan" of any team, but I think I'd be partial to the Browns and Steelers. Gotta keep reppin' the rust belt.

I assume by "lose out and draft a franchise QB", you mean that you want them to purposely lose games. If I ever found out that happened, that would officially be when I stopped rooting for the Bills.

Pennington does not suck. No, his arm isn't great. But he just absolutely never makes bad decisions and his completion percentage is the best in NFL history among QBs who have thrown more than 1500 passes. There is nobody better at hitting his target than Pennington. Please explain your opinion on how he sucks. He certainly isn't the best quarterback in the league due to his physical limitations, but there is almost nobody more competent.

Thank you! People seem to be under the impression that a QB is capable of singlehandedly winning a superbowl. In other words, just keep cycling through QBs until you find one that wins 13 games. Doesn't work that way people.
