  1. Look, I really want us to win. But we need to face certain facts:The Patriots are looking strong. They're healthy. And they have Brady back.

WE haven't scored a touchdown with our starting offense. And our starting RB is suspended for the game

The biggest X factor is T.O., and if we manage to pull it off, it will probably be due to him.

  2. Well, I can tell you that the film LOOKS f  ng amazing. At the Cannes it won a nomination for best actor and I've always been a fan of Tarantino's work.

Brad Pitt is a phenominal actor, who doesn't get all the praise he deserves because of a largely undeserved rep and who he's shacking up with.

Another pair of excellent movies to add to the list are Se7en and Fight Club

  3. It doesn't have to be that way. Just call the "bulltext" when you see it, and hopefully people think about it next time. Because I'm not kidding about the employment thing. I'd fry some kid's ass for putting anything APPROACHING "texting" on a corporate document.

And I'd get away with it.

No jury in the world would convict you.

If you keep shorthand entirely within the realm of instant messenger and texting (which I can tell from experience gets harder the more you use it) then fine. But for the love of God TRY!!!

While English and grammar sticklers can be annoying at times, it does not compare to having to stumbling upon post after post of people who don't bother to try. Anyone can make a spelling or grammar mistake, but it takes a certain breed of idiot to purposefully destroy the English language when they have plenty of time to get it right.

But onto the main point, Wood is looking really good. He looked like a beast last Saturday and seems to have a good Blue Collar work ethic. I think that in a could of years he could be something quite special.

  4. Well, let's face it: we have a bunch of brand new rookies playing on the O-line. This is something that we simply can't deny. Generally, rookies don't do as well as veterans.

But I also know that until the season actually begins, we don't know what is going to happen. I think that if we can use the no huddle well the O-line can balance their pure athletic ability against their lack of experience. While I by no means think that we'll have the best O-line, if we're lucky and smart it won't matter.

  5. The question is not whether to use Roscoe more on offense, or whether he's better than Reed. The question is whether to trade him outright. The article on the front page of TBD suggests that Roscoe is a luxury. Bullcrap. Wendling is a luxury. Justin Jenkins is a luxury. 8 DBs is a luxury. Having a dynamic special teams player who makes the offense's job easier is not a luxury for this team, it's a necessity.

    :)

While I have nothing against Josh Reed, can anyone here honestly say that what he does is something that can't be done by all the others? We now have TO as a number 2 and Hardy (when he gets healthy) for possession catches.

  6. Yep, they need to keep using it....but they need to ensure the players are in good enough shape to keep going. Langston and a few of the other guys looked gassed yesterday. It's not going to work as well if the offensive players wear out before the defensive players.

True enough. But they have a little under a month now to get a handle on it. If they can get to four quarters of no huddle, I think that we'd be headed in the right direction.

  7. but is anyone else hoping that they keep using the no huddle? They looked a lot better in it this week than last week, and despite the first stringers not being able to convert for a TD we moved the ball well, and won the battles for TOP.

Trent seems capable of making good decisions, and showed that he could chuck the ball (that early deep pass to Evans), pick apart defenses for short gains, show consistency (going 10/10. Can't really complain there) and showing he knows when to run (what beautiful play on 4th and 1)

I know my optimism gets the best of me every preseason, but even without T.O. we did relatively well against a more defensive team.

  8. I REALLY hope that we keep Roscoe. Hell, I wish that we used him more at WR too. The man is an insane punt returner, as is dynamite once the ball is (firmly) lodged in his hands. Did anyone see our punt and kick returns last night? I know that we didn't want to put the starters in, but it sucked pretty hard. The Bears, NOT a team known for their special teams had a better night.

Jenkins? No offense, but WTF? He's a special teams player like Roscoe, only not nearly as important.

Also, remember that T.O.'s contract expires at this season. As he's usually poison after the first year, we can trade him off and get 10 million to play with.

  9. Look, the man did some pretty sick s :) t. I am not going to deny that. If Vick had done those things to people, he would be sitting in Old Sparky. Hell, anyone would.

So, understand that I in no way condone his actions.

But seriously. The man was caught, was prosecuted, served time and was released. He's paid his debt to society. The Eagles can dump him at any time before the season without giving him a red cent. Wherever he goes, this is going to hang over him. He's going to have PETA swarming everywhere he goes. That's the real punishment.

  10. Obviously, this loss was not JP's fault, and only a fool would say otherwise.

For a while, JP looked pretty good, and had the team within a TD, despite the putrid play of the defense.

With that said, once the Cardinals took control, the Bills resorted to the kind of playcalling desperate teams resort to. JP isn't likely to bring the team back from a deep deficit, when the offense is predictable and the pass rush is relentless. Not many QBs are, for that matter. But, that is certainly where JP has the most trouble.

I think JP showed why he will get another chance, as his upside is so big. He also showed the things he will have to overcome to be successful with that chance.

I'm going to have to side with you on this. I have come around to see Trent as the QB of the future and J.P. did make a number of stupid mistakes. Still, he looked decent.

However, with our defense hemmorgaing points and yards like it did there was practically no chance for us to win, even if Trent had been uninjured.

  11. Sorry, I must have misinterpreted your original post

I'm all for an occasional direct snap to RB. I remember how well it worked when Thurman was here and it was a staple of the offense

Thought you meant start tweaking the offense to run it as often as Miami does (soon enough some DC will figure out how to counter it)

Let's not forget: this is the team that the JETS put 56 points on. The  -ing jets. It might have been just a bad game while the Cards were on the road but I'm more worried about our defense when we're short one CB.

  12. Very important. Assuming they were over the age of consent, and there was no force being applied to either, the father is simply an !@#$ and deserves whatever punishment he gets.

If they were both underage, but of similar age (and assuming this was all consensual), laying the boy out with a pipe is still not the appropriate response.

Let me ask some of the neanderthals here, this: If the mother of the boy found the same couple in her house, would you think it was OK for her to bash the girl with a pipe?

You catch your kid (girl or boy) having consensual intimacy with another person, I suggest your #1 responsibility is to deal with YOUR KID.

Now, I am assuming the girl was with him, and let him in the house. But, it was never mentioned if the girl was even in the room (or the house). If the kid was in the girl's room, by himself, and the girl was nowhere around, then I think he could be treated as a trespasser and dealt with appropriately. Smashing him with a pipe wouldn't be my response, but I might think that it was reasonable, given those circumstances.

Because I don't have a daughter I have to agree with the Dean on this one. If I'm ever caught in the act by my girlfriend's parents I sure as hell want them beating me over the head with a pipe.

That said, I don't plan on sleeping with anyone under the age of consent. If an underage girl's father found a 20 something guy with her I would agree. As this doesn't seem to be the case I have to disagree.

  13. Its probably something that is going to continue to happen until we do beat somebody perceived as a powerhouse. The Cards game this week will be our biggest game yet, IMO. They have a very good offense (even though Warner had 25 turnovers yesterday) and it should be a shootout. The D is going to have to get alot better for AZ and for the Chargers after the bye week.

If we beat AZ and SD, there should be no questions as to if the Bills are for real or not.

I agree. If we go 6-0 then there's no doubt that the team is something to be feared. Even if we split our next two games we're still in good shape.

However, I do think that there is reason to be concerned. The fact of the matter is that we were down in the fourth quarter against two of the worst teams in the NFL, no matter what the point differential at the end was.
