First, they 2 and a half behind us, not a half. And how would we be in a hole if we are in first. You are not making sense *edit, if you mean half because the jets are given (which, no game is ever given) those two games would still only bring them to 1 and a half dependent upon our results.

Seemed you are making the point the Patriots could still be in it because they have two easy games against the Jets, but even with those givens the rest of their schedule suggests they are already in too deep a hole to dig out of.

And games against the Ravens and Rams, among others such as us again, the Cardinals and the Fish

We are likely going to win the division and finish as the 4 seed. I mean, I'm ready to say it's obvious. I will after Sunday. Our difficult schedule will keep us from getting to the 3 seed or higher, thus our round one opponent will likely be the second place AFC north team (5 seed Pitt or Balt)in Buffalo. Sure would be nice to have a true home field advantage for that as we'd probably need it. But who knows, why can't we beat the Seattle's or San Francisco's and sneak up to the three seed?

Good write up. We need to drive the nail into the Pat's coffin next week. They are done as a force. Going forward Miami is more of a concern. This year and in the future. And i'm ok with that.
