You got half of it. The other reason for urgency is so that people feel as though there is in fact no other solution then to act immediately on healthcare. Sure it's been a long debated topic for several decades, but it's the current administration's job to make it seem like this is the make or break year for healthcare.

Discuss it in the other thread then. Dude, you're a complete egomaniac. Why do you think you deserve your own thread for waking up in the morning? It's aggrevating. Just go. We ALL hate you. -
I'm sorry... But how are you still trying to spin this? You realize how "stupidly" you sound, right?

YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!!! THIS IS ALREADY BEING DISCUSSED IN TWO OTHER THREADS. YOU SELFISH ASSHAT! LEAVE! -
Ahh, the media! Brilliant. I forgot to mention that. He just picked people who gave him lay-ups for questions. The toughest question was will you yourself partake in the healthcare plan, to which he jokingly told the press, hell no. They laughed. He answered a layup about how miraculously a black leader was arrested for no reason, and spewed nonsense one dimensional race card tactics back at them. They nodded, fully supported his stance against race (like that's even a stance these days... everyone is against racism), and all marked it down as a very positive meeting. It's so easy for this guy. I'm starting to wonder if he may actually be in a situation where he can do no wrong.

The Obama Press Conference led me to some interesting revelations. (One) Why does George Bush get the rap for being a poor public speaker? Obama seems to think it's a campaign still... But it's not. Yeah he stutters every other lame example some other dude came up with, and I realize Bush was horrendous at times, but that's not what I'm on about. I get the feeling that he makes these analogies and whatnot to make everyone still love him. He should be explaining his healthcare plan to raise a reaction out of people to see if it's what they want. He should be legitimately answering questions, so we understand how the country is being run. Instead he throws these analogies that are so pathetic. Let me ask you this? If a blue pill is one price, and does nothing, and a red pill is half the price and cures you, which one would you take? I don't know Obama, but I'm pretty god damn sure that has absolutely nothing to do with the healthcare plan. Are you creating a system where people reap the benefits of the wealthy, or are you re-creating the pharmaceutical process as we know it? (Two) How come no one is railing this guy for his polarizing comments? In a course I had this past semester I was forced to read some 300 page garbage on how George Bush was the most polarizing President ever. Everything that proved this polemic was done so using absurd implications, and yet today in the political science world it’s a consensus belief. The problem is that Obama is so bad it's not even implied. He goes right out there and says it. It's really quite sad. He'll say something about the Democrats, and realize that he's supposed to address the Republicans and goes on a politically correct rant about how "they have some good ideas too. We’re not getting their votes, but..." blah blah blah. Clearly that's the least presidential way of approaching the dichotomy of congress, yet he does the same thing every time. Careful to make sure he doesn't say anything about the Republicans negatively, but make sure that he's stated that there is a definite party line. (Three) You can't be serious about blaming the previous administration in yet another conference, can you? Really? That's the leader you guys voted on right there. He's the kid who got out of detention by telling the teacher who threw the paper air plane. (Four) Crisis? Really? We need healthcare immediately? How can America fall for this crap, and how is it any different than the way communist countries portrayed things to their people throughout history. In order to rally support they (almost literally) make up a crisis so we need things. I don't know. I just felt the need to rant a bit, and it wasn't incredibly well thought-out, since I just typed this in a two minute sitting, but I'm willing to debate these points into the next millennium, because we've got a guy who literally said republicans don't want healthcare because it "will make Obama vulnerable". What an egomaniac.

That's all I needed to see. Clearly he did not do anything to this woman.

That was a nice healthy attempt at justifying a loser mentality. I don't really care. He doesn't have to mean it. When prompted, I want to hear, "I would trade it all for a superbowl". Not some realist approach. In the end, this is a sport. There is one goal, to win. -

Cool. I disagree with both mentalities. Ask Jim Kelly that question. -

Not going to lie...I'm a little disgusted with his answer to one question: "I have been a Bills fan since Bruce Smith donned a jersey for your team. My question to you Mr. Wilson is would you be willing to trade all the great things you have accomplished for the NFL in your years as an owner for one Superbowl victory? " "No, I would not." I think that mentality pretty much sums it all up right there. I'm sorry. I realize he added loads of fluff to the end of that answer but you can't justify it to me. The correct answer is always yes. -
Is it just me, or has the literacy level/writing ability of pro athletes gone down significantly?

Yeah, SKOOBY needs to buy one for his entire fifth grade class.

Wow. I think you underestimate the horridness of our offensive coaching. It will work why? Because you do that on Madden?

I beg to differ. You'll probably get laid that year.

What?

Dude. Don't you realize you start an average of 2-3 threads a day? Don't you realize that's excessive? Seriously you have a problem. They're never something that you rant about either, it's typically worthless propositions or hypothetical scenerios and that you force people to engage in. It's annoying. I don't know how you can't see that. Having 5 threads on the front page is not something to be proud of. It makes you a god damn pest. -

I wouldn't go so far as to call it "saving" a worthless thread, however there are clearly more and more people getting fed up with the quantity of SKOOB's threads, and that has in turn led to each of his new ridiculous threads to be bombarded with a higher rate of angry posters. It's only funny in a completely cynical way. I, for one, have truly found this guy to be down right annoying and I'm pretty sure that I've been a strong advocate for his banishment since he started the "official gameday threads" at like 5 am just so he could have that honor. I don't know exactly why, but that rubbed off entirely the wrong way with me. Couple that with his continuing desire to make up random sh*t and post gossip almost daily in order to snag the attention of everyone, and you truly have a guy that I've come to despise.
