I've made one official sports bet in my life.  The Bills line in one game years ago - forget the game - was so whacked that I had to place $100 on the Bills to cover a ridiculous spread.

I lost - and never bet since - not counting bets that required me to buy someone lunch or wear an opposing team's jersey.

BR, I wish you the best and hope you've learned betting is a game for fools and never do it again.

Did the same thing myself years back and will never do it again.  I won't even put Bills players on my fantasy team (winnings are peanuts).  Even if they were a sure pick, I am superstitious because players I pick tend to get injured.  Stupid I know, but....

Like any type of betting (casino, horses, sports), you have to truly know the game before you lay your hard earned money down, especially on large $$ bets.

Did you honestly think you were going to get sympathy, understanding and respect when you originally put this out on the board.  Win or lose, you have to expect that you are going to get your #@&&$ busted.

Sounds like we have a serious problem with Anti-American sentiment at games if people are suppressing freedom.

If a fan acts in a threatening manner towards another fan for their choice of headwear, he/she should be permanently banned from the stadium.

No, but freedom of speech and expression goes both ways.  It's about being respectful to those around you.  The Constitution and Bill of Rights gives you the ability to do many things, but at the end of the day, we need to get away from the "me" and look at things as "we".  If we truly are a United States, we need to think about our words, deeds and actions and how they may impact those around us.  The divide in this country needs to end and it starts with mutual respect for others.

It just makes me shake my head. How can we be in cap trouble when we basically have no good players? Even taking into account the Dareus money we are still owe who the heck else is getting paid on this team? We overpaid a bunch of bad players? And I love McCoy but RBs really are a dime a dozen and we probably shouldn't be paying him what he is getting either. Worst team in the league and we have a terrible cap situation. Makes no sense.

    I couldn't agree more.

    From USA Today (9/18/18)

    Most dead money in 2018

    1. Bills- $53.1M
    2. Cowboys- $28.9M
    3. Giants- $25M
    4. 49ers- $22.5M
    5. Cardinals- $21M
    6. Browns- $20.5M

Pretty crazy that Bills are almost equal to numbers 2 and 3 combined.

The only place that we disagree is that not all 32 teams are private. 31 are and that is a part of the reason that it is difficult to enforce. In general, I agree with your sentiment.

FWIW, I wouldn’t sign either of these guys because the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. If Khalil Mack was the guy doing this I would be all for adding him. If I thought that these guys could impact the team I’d be all for it. I don’t think that the media attention and distractions are worth it for these guys.

    100% agree

Agree.  It's about @$$es in seats.  Posters that think bringing Reid to Buffalo have not been to a game in a while.  At the opener, one guy in my section inadvertently did not take his hat off during the anthem and the people around him immediately started yelling at him.  I can't imagine what people would have done if anyone chose to stay seated.  There is just not enough upside with Reid's play to bring him to blue collar Buffalo where the backlash would be tremendous.

At the end of the day, even bringing in a hall of fame safety wouldn't do much when opposing QB's have all the time in the world to pick your secondary apart.  Focus needs to start with our line.

  5. The tailgate this year was one of the best in recent memory.  Great before AND after despite the way our team played.  Nobody walked away hungry or thirsty and it was certainly a bonus having the opportunity to meet both Aaron Williams and Stevie Johnson, who could not have been nicer.

Thank you Mr. Hammer for hosting!

It was great seeing everyone again and I am already looking forward to next year!!!  GO BILLS!

Dump Ducasse and Miller and sign a couple of fat drunk guys from the stands.

Or sign the three guys fighting at the Lackawana toll plaza.  They at least showed some spirit and the one guy through a shoe ten yards, so he's got that going for him.  Quick fix for our OL's interior.

Well of course in the short term it’s a great trade for the bears. We will see about the long term though

Like I said before, given the Bears poor first round history, the trade made sense.  Mack is an amazing talent, so I believe the long term bodes well for Da Bears also.  The guy is clearly a game changer and I don't see that changing barring injury of course.

Unfortunately, I won't be at the home opener this year.

I'm bummed I'll have to miss it, but I had to choose between the opener and MNF vs the pats* on 10/29. Monday night at the Ralph was the obvious choice.

Hopefully most of the usual crew will be back for MNF and we can do it up with a nice looooong tailgate before the game.

Have fun, guys. Drink a beer or 17 for me.

We'll miss you at the opener Devil Dog, but enjoy the MNF game!

Anyone see the catch Robinson just made?  Bears vs Packers.  Who do we have that makes catches like that?  We need that.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw this.  Our receiving corps should be ashamed of their performance today.  Kelvin Benjamin #1 WR....what a joke.
