  1. To slow to play corner is what i said. Functional speed and a straight line are two copletely different things. Do you remember when Brandon Jacobs (6'4" 265lbs) outran Donte? I do!
  2. PTR, It doesn't take a genius to justify his feelings about the Bills. Terrible drafts, horrible coaching decisions and FO hirings, no traceable FO hierarchy, botched personell decisions, marketing ploys to sell tickets, etc. Again, his delivery is that of a child, but he's on point.
  3. I don't think he's soft at all. He was the only guy playing in the Rose Bowl last year when USC was destroying PSU. The one thing that I liked about him in college was his passion for the game, I just think he's outclassed. He played at around 230lbs last year and he put on more weight than he could handle this year also. You would think sitting on the sidelines and watching a pro like Schobel would help him develop, but nothing. Go Bills!
  4. So if he's just a young guy why don't the Bills go to the Rivals 100 and draft the top DE out of high school? Erie Bills, PSU fan I'm guessing. Poz is a top MLB too right? Maurice Evans was twice the player Maybin was. Maybin, like Donte will be a bust...unfortunately.
  5. Every rookie is still learning to play the game but few have looked so completely lost. The coaching excuse is thrown around a lot on these boards. Actually, coming full circle, that was one of the "Donte Lovers" excuse for years. Did Kyle Williams and Schobel get better coaching than Maybin? Don't you think a teams 1st round pick is going to get extra attention form his coaches? Every year you see DE/OLB's come into the NFL and register a good sack total. Dumerville came in a year before Jarvis Moss and has completely outplayed him. Better coaching? No, Dumerville was a dominant pass rusher for years at L'ville. Look, I would love to see Maybin develop into a monster, nothing would make me happier. But he was a complete disaster this year and will continue to be one in the future.
  6. His problem is it seems that his only job is just to complain about everything in a condescending, arrogant way. That being said, HE'S RIGHT! The Bills organization is a complete joke and until the Bills do something to move in a positive direction JS has the right to say and write whatever he wants. He is a douche though.
  7. I would normally agree with you but with Maybin, the writing is on the wall. He's stiff, shows no explosion off of the ball, zero instincts, skinny and looks completely lost. It's alright for a rookie QB to look lost, but the NFL has had plenty of pass rushers who come in and make an immediate impact becuase there is no thinking when you're rushing the passer. It's all about getting off of the ball and beating the man who is standing in front of you. Maybin got owned by every tackle, he didn't sniff the QB. This conversation can only go so far, but check back with me next year when he still looks the same.
  8. It will always amazed me that our FO was sitting there on that faithfull day in the war room and agreed that Donte was the right pick. That is who the organization chose to rebuild the Bills. An effin safety. And now we're already saying the same thing about Maybin.....
  9. Wow, thats shocking! Ya mean Cowher isn't going to be the next Bills coach!?!? What's next, SANTA CLAUSE ISN'T REAL!!!!!!!!
  10. After the debacle that was the 2006 draft (othere than KW), we kept hoping DW would show something other than the ability to play multiple secondary positions at a mediocre level and "leadership" skills. Then there were those fans who vehemently defended him saying that it was the rest of the defense who sucked (correct, they do suck but so does DW), or that the coaches were playing him at to many positions or he's a 91 on Madden so he must be good. But after this season it is clear, Lil Donte was simply one of the worst first round picks in the history of the team and continued the tailspin that the Bills are in. He was to small to play SS and to slow to play CB. Now a WR and a rookie start over him. Another Marv Levy miracle! I don't know what it is about Lil Donte that I never liked. But one thing was clear, he was a terrible pick and a VERY average player. Good bye Lil Donte, please keep your mouth shut in the future little man.
  11. The QB situation has scared most fans away too.
  12. Agreed, if Fitz went out there and threw 5 Tds it wouldn't matter a bit. Brohm should be out there so we can be sure THAT HE SUCKS TOO!
  13. Pipe dream. As in "smoking enormous amounts of weed out of your" pipe dream.
  14. Or he was trying to teach him that individuals don't belong on a team. Or that it doesn't matter who your daddy is, you might just suck.
  15. I'm not doubting that you were a coach, but I'm doubting that you were a football coach. Most D1 teams have 100 plus players and to play coach and therapist doesn't work with that number of kids. You're lucky to get 5 minutes alone with your HC. I am the type that needs a hard lesson and strict discipline and so were many of my teammates. You don't learn accountabilty from a few laps and a lecture or everyone would join the Armed Services. You learn a lesson by knowing what is on the other side of a poor decision. Believe me, I hate that tough guy mentality but for some players, it's necessary.
  16. How did you punish your kids when they got into fights out on campus? Got caught cheating? Showing up late for position meetings? How about when you thought they weren't working hard? How did you deal with parents who thought you were making the wrong decisions and weren't afraid to tell you about it? I don't care to credential, but I know this is what happens all of the time. 4 of my good friends played at a high level as well and they all have stories. It happens everywhere.
  17. And my point is that Leach IS an egomaniac but he should not have been fired. Far worse stuff happens on a routine basis in all sports, not just football. This had nothing to do with what he "did" to James, TT wanted to fire him all along. I promise you this, James has lost the respect of 90% of his teammates and will disapear into obscurity. Here is something else to think about. This kid destroyed that locker room. For every kid who disliked Leach there are those who love him. How do you think those kids feel about James now? How do you think important alumni like Crabtree feel about it? Ar they still going to support the program? I doubt it. Last question, is The Senator alive?
  18. He has the 8th best graduation rate nationally and tops in the big 12. He's doing it right by teaching his players discipline. Big time programs at the bottom: #204 Alabama 44% #204 Minnesota 44% #204 Cal 44% #214 Georgia 41% #216 Texas 40% #217 Arizona 39%
  19. Adding to your scenerio, what if the team was coming off of a loss and they were having a bad practice. Here comes Adam James, whom he obviously dislikes, wearing shades walking around the track like a dope. That my friends is the pefect storm.
  20. Trent's been in the closet for years and it's only hampered his throwing ability.
  21. Why anyone would listen to a former high school tennis star's opinion on football is absurd to me. I would have to take blood pressure meds if I subjected myself to his babble on a daily basis.
  22. Classic AJ Smith. He does his job very well but he is an incredible douche.
  23. I love Lane Kiffen, he's done a great job so far. He wins a SEC championship in 3 years no doubt. OSU will blow it, don't worry.
