And if we are good against runs this year, we can call our defense the Immodium D.

I've re-signed. What are my options? In the Nother Va. area -- just outside of Washington DC I can watch the team with the racist nickname or the Ravens. I'd rather watch the Bills, no matter how much they make me swear. And, quite frankly, spread out over a 16-game season, the price tag isn't outrageous. Sure I wish it were $159, or whatever it was when I first got it, but hey, I wish gasoline was 99 cents a gallon, too.

Here's a link to the Washington Post item on Haynesworth. Shanahan said he was the only one to have to do that drill, but that's the price you pay for skipping the off-season program. Sounds like Shanahan is trying to making a point with Haynesworth.

Nice to meet you.
My wife and I were both born and raised in Buffalo area and now live in Northern VA!
We like going to Jimmy's Old Town Tavern in Herndon, VA for fish fry's. I still buy my Molson Canadian's at Wegmans here in Ashburn, VA, and DirecTV has me locked down for the Bills and Sabres.
But you are so right....pizza is not the same.
I haven't been to Jimmy's in years -- ever since I sold my soul to DirecTV. Even though Jimmy's is only a few miles from my house.
I do recall going there one Saturday night about 10 years ago -- during that sweet spot when the Sabres and Bills are playing. I went there to watch the Sabres. There was a group of people sitting at a table near the front door and they were all totally s**t-faced. I showed up the next day about 12:45 p.m. to watch the Bills. What do you know, there's that same group of people sitting at the same table -- and they were well on their way to getting totally s**t-faced. And then there was the guy sitting next to me at the bar telling me how he couldn't get to work in downtown DC anymore because of his multiple DWIs. I guess that's when I decided that Jimmy's wasn't the place for me.

Born in England
Family moved to Niagara Falls in 1954
Went to high school and college in WNY
Moved to the Washington, DC, area in 1983.
There are a lot of ex-Western New Yorkers in this area. About 5 years ago when Wegman's opened their first store in the DC area (about 12 minutes from my house) more than 10,000 people showed up on the first day, which was a Sunday. The sad part is that I'm sure 99 percent of those people are from upstate New York

I was so mad when i went online to my directv account. I clicked on nfl sunday ticket, and price is now $315. yikes!!!
I'm still getting it. Maybe that's why I was mad. lol
So who else is krazy like me? Meaning renewing or singing up for sunday ticket.
Call me crazy -- despite the price tag, I'm renewing.

When I first read this article I began to get deeply concerned over the idea of football players using "street" drugs recreationally. Then I realized that I don't care.

Whitners contract sucks - he should take a paycut
OK -- say your boss says I think you're the greatest thing since sliced bread. I'm going to pay you $750,000 a year. Would you say, Thanks, but I suck. I'm really worth only $18,500 a year.
Think about it. He was drafted in the top 10. His agent (who also makes money based on the size of this transaction) got wood and demanded top-10 salary. don't blame him for the Bills' stupidity.
-
1) Gregg Williams was probably our worst coach of the last decade and it probably won't have matter anyways.
2) If Brees started slowly like he did in SD, we would have ran him out of town anyways.
True and true

Didn't Warren Sapp drop in the draft because he tested positive for weed (or maybe just rumors that he smoked ganja)?
Despite his boorish behavior on the field (and there are plenty of examples, according to Wikipedia), the taste for THC didn't seem to negatively impact his abilities.

Jesus H. Christ, the guy said he didn't want Russel, he just wanted to know what other people thought. No need to go attacking the guy. State your case and move on.

In the English Language there is a thing called PAST TENSE and PRESENT TENSE...
words like: "sniffed" and "showed" are PAST TENSE words. Meaning the Bills in the past maybe 3-5 weeks ago contacted Baltimore regarding Gaither. But if you read all the reports and stories Baltimore put Gaither on the trading block as a ploy to get Gaither to go to off-season workouts.
Please stop posting stories from the past that we have all heard already, just because Buffalo Rumblings and Bills Digest and other Buffalo media sports outlets are about 2 weeks late picking up the story it doesn't mean its news.
In conclusion.. NO where in those articles does it say the Bills are still interested so change your title of the thread. All it says is the bills "showed" and "sniffed" at trading for Gaither in the past
In the English language, nowhere is one word, if you're going to be a stickler for the English language.

"I'm sure they'd be willing to take whatever at this point," a personnel director for a National Football League team said Friday. "They've got too many guys and they're trying to move him, but I don't know if there's much activity. He just doesn't want to be there. Just not a good situation."
Could it just possibly be that the unidentified personnel director works for the Packers and is trying to deflate Lynch's value? Nah, that couldn't possibly be.

To me, how many wins next year isn't important so much as implentation. Let's find out who belongs where on the field, particularly defensively since this is clearly the new regime's primary focus this offseason.
Agreed. Wins would be nice, but I think a lot of fans would be happy with clear signs of progress. (Although the tricky part is building on that progress.)

Who?
I thought who was on first base.

And the same OL failed to provide the push to convert 3rd and shorts and move the chains.
Well, maybe an injury-free OL will do better.

Spiller is going to tare it up as a RB in Detroit..
Do you mean he's going to "tear" it up?

But I still like Sully, the same way I like Cliff Clavin from Cheers! Here's to you SULLY!!!
Yeah, they're both hot-air-spewing losers.

My favorite quote over the weekend was Gailey saying " I don't care about hurt feelings, I care about scoring points!"
I didn't see that quote, but I like it. It sounds like something Bill Parcells would say.

You were all excited for Donahoe, ...
That's an interesting observation. Everyone got wood over the hiring of little Tommy because he was a "name" from a successful organization (think Shanahan, Cowher, Martyball, etc. etc.) Well we got the "big name" and still haven't recovered after all these years. Let's hope the much maligned no-name Buddy Nix can turn this team aroudn.

a. Our beat up, decimated O- line still managed to help Freddie to a 1000 yard season.
Good point.

According to Nixley, it is not a problem at this time.
I'm sorry -- I missed that quote. Link please?

I am very tired of the conventional wisdom about the Bills right now. The "what everybody knows" statements about them. The "if you don't agree with these statements you have drunk the cool-aid" cliches. (Incidentally, if I never hear the phrase "drunk the cool-aid" again, it will be okay with me. Just a suggestion, guys.)
There is a school of thought (and social research) that says the poor residents of Jonestown did not drink Kool-Aid but rather a competing product called Flavor Aid. This should not be confused with the Electric Kool-Aid Acid Tests of the mid-1960s in which Kool-Aid was laced with LSD.
And I agree with your premise. Conventional wisdom is usually has it back-asswards.

I know we are rebuilding through the draft but signing Faneca to a 1-2 year deal would help give some depth and a lot of experience to the line. Plus he comes from a divisional opponent which is a huge plus and he'll have a chip on his shoulder especially when we play the Jets. I know he's on the down slope of his career but is still an upgrade from what we got now.
He was on the downside of his career when the Steelers let him walk. Only he didn't know it at the time. If the Bills could pick him up for a rock-bottom price then he might make a good backup and mentor to some of the youngsters. But he's not worth a big bucks or long term commitment. And I'm sure that's what he and his agent are looking for.
Thoughts on the Bills from Beantown

I'm surprised that this view of the Bills comes from the Boston Globe. It's actually pretty straightforward, to the point and nowhere near as condescending as I expected.
Some examples:
"Feels like GM Buddy Nix and coach Chan Gailey are pouring concrete into the foundation right now – Very business-like, no-complaining, get-the-job-done tone. That’s good for this franchise, provided they give this regime time, since there’s been far too much upheaval over the last decade."
"But it’s clear that the intention is to be a physically imposing squad."
The writer is a little too gung-ho about McKelvin for my liking, but that's his opinion.
The story is on the Two Bills Drive page under the heading Buffalo Bills News. Or you can follow this link:

Also, when you think that the Bills are the pits -- and we all do from time to time -- check out this play from the Washington DC team with the racist nickname under the Jim Zorn era:
