Stop the Wilson bashing, just buy the team
High Mark replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To get around the public ownership rules, why not start a corperation with a single principle that pays dividends to investors. They would essentially own a part of the team, by owning a part of the teams ownership. It would be like if Warren Buffets investment group Berkshire Hathaway buying the Bills, the same way he buys stocks for investors. Could it work?? I thought of this a while ago and I think it may... -
We all know Chan came out and said he wants to run the 34 when he took over. But the staff also said they would use mutilpe fronts bepending on personnel. Well, through 4 games, the Bills have very very very rarely been in a 3 man front. I dont have exact numbers like my Troupe myth, but I would estimate that the Bills have been in a 34 alignment no more than 15% of the defensive snaps. Honestly, Maybin hasnt played a single down as a LB. Every snap he has his hand in the dirt along with 3 other lineman. People are mad and I understand that. But I get tired of callers on wgr calling in claiming the 34 has been a huge mistake (I havent read too many posts on here about it, but there have been a few). We dont even run that defense enough to consider it a problem. Please pay more attention to the details people!!! Carry on.

Why do we want to draft a loser?
High Mark replied to Dorkington's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im sorry but record has nothing to do with it. If you want Locker you are nuts and shouldnt form opinions on QBs In fact, he could very likely go undrafted - see Jevon Snead. The only thing that could save him is his *alleged* sub 4.4 forty. Either way, i'll bet my mortgage on Locker being a later 3rd or after draft pick. And he will only go that high based on potentail alone. -
Where does the blackout area end?
High Mark replied to High Mark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks guys. I thought the blackout area included Syracuse since the 90’s but I had people telling me they were 100% confident it was 90 miles. Maybe that’s a minimum? Anyways it sounds like it would be easier for me to drive to the game and buy a 5 dollar ticket. I hate missing even a single play of a Bills game but I may be listening this week. -
I live on the east side of Rochester. Its about 70 miles to Buffalo. I have heard the blackout area for the NFL is 90 miles. So I would think it wouldn’t be too far for me to drive toward Cuse and catch the game. But at the same time I remember my Dad used to adjust our antenna during blackouts back in the 90s and pick up a snowy Cuse broadcast with a couple of coat hangers. The one year he stopped because they enlarged the blackout area to included Cuse… So im not sure where it ends exactly. Anyone know where the blackout ends? Anyone from farther away KNOW??? If you do, whats the nearest bar to Route 90 that has the ticket Thanks.

Could an O-line shift be in the works?
High Mark replied to macaroni's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I heard that Urbik was practicing at T. Maybe worng though, I know I have seen him in at RG for Wood on a few series. -
I dotn know a single 70 yr old that still has it all upstairs. Whether they give the impression or not. Nixs best years are certainly behind him

If the "disgrunteled" Randy Moss is worth a 3rd
High Mark replied to High Mark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No team will take Evans with that contract. The Bills should approach Evans with a deal, Well trade you but youll have to take a pay cutt. I guess is hed do it -

High Mark replied to High Mark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont doubt that. But, can you guarantee me with 100% crtainty that that player will be a PB caliber player and a position of major need? How do you know we wont draft another Hardy? I think thats more possible than us getting some super stud - Even Byrd has been bad this season. Further, could that player comin in THIS WEEK and be the leader on an bad OL filled with young talent that needs a veteran leader. Could he tell our guys what it takes to win superbowls? Or what the playoffs are like? Rebuilding is not all young rookies. There is a lot of leadership needed. Det has Vandebosch and Foote helping their team out. (I know they are 0-4 but they almost beat Gb and should have/did IMO beat the Bears. The NFCs 2 best teams) We have no one on our team that knwos what it takes to win - because none of them have ever won before. -

Go ahead and hijack for that. I also would kill for McNiel. I also think its possible for us to get BOTH. As long as we hold onto that 1st rounder, who I am hoping results in Luck -

High Mark replied to High Mark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea I know thats what you meant. I didnt really clarify I guess, I was just making another point from further coversation. But hey, I know Ralph is cheap. And in another thread a poster said that Nix stunk but was the only one who would take this job so we were lucky... I say BS. Id hapily be the Bills GM, no salary required. You could be my assistant GM -

I detect your sarcasm, but why are they so "precious"??? Spiller is a kick returner and until yesterday the 3rd string RB Troupe plays 10-15% of the snaps if he is luck Carring hasnt been on the field yet - AT ALL Guys like Hardy and Harris are already off the team. Guys like Youbty dont contribute in the least. Whitner/Byrd and barely better than Scott/G.Wilson yet they cost a lot more to acquire. - The BEST thing Buddy could do with those picks is trade, and trade multiple if need be, picks for a proven pro bowler. -
As I thought about the Randy Moss trade today and all the circumstances were reported, like his heated convos with the OC and Belicheaet, it became cleaer the Randy was "disgrunteld" and thats why he was moved. So the Pats moved a great player in a contract year for a 3rd rounder. My question is, what do you think they would ask for Mankins? He is a PB Guard who is way more p*ssed at the Pats than Moss ever was. He has vowed to never play for them again, and he is on the 5th week of his holdout. He is also in a contract year you could say (he would have been a URFA if not for the CBA expiring). But If Moss goes for a 3rd, I dont see how Mankins could go for much more. Maybe a 3rd and 5th, a 2 at most would be my complete guess. My point is the Chan came out and publically said our OL isnt good enough to do what we want to do on offense. Well, here is your chance to get one of the best OLmen in the league for essentially nothing. Why not solidify the OL now rather than take a huge risk on a late round pick - a slection that with our scouts will bust with a 98% chance. It would not be a "win now" move by any means, and would most certainly help us rebuild. Its a no brainer to me, but I get the feeling it hasnt even crossed Nixs mind.
-
That is another point that has to be made. make that Lynhc, Bell, and the 9th overall pick for Spiller and a 4th rounder. And yes, these moves are linked together, because Nix is building a roster. A complete football roster. Not making random un related personal moves. This combined with resignng Kelsay has to be the worst FO season ever.
-
First, we all must accept that the Bills would have never moved Lynch if they didnt draft Spiller. This is very easy to accept and no one who has a clue could argue this. At the end of 2009 the Bills had: Marshawn Lynch the 9th overall pick in the draft In 2010 the bills have: CJ Spiller 4th round pick THE BILLS TRADED MARSHAWN LYNCH AND A TOP 10 PICK FOR CP SPILLER AND A 4TH ROUNDER. Worst. Trade. EVER.

From Kawika Mitchell's tweeter account or whatever "Thought Fitz was fightin out there today. Runnin like crazy. Takin shots down the field. 95 is always playin. Most underrated player n NFL " Considering no one ever talks about him nationally, or how a lot of posters on this board thinks he is a B rate player, I certainly agree. People forget that the NFL coaches put him into the PB last year as an alternate. He has been routinely double teamed for the alst 2 1/2 years - before schobel when he was here. Mitchell isnt the best player in the league but he is(was) in the meeting/film room watching every play. And im sure he knows a lot more than any of us. Those who doubt KW needs to wise up.
-
I know we could trade for McNiel or Mankins if we wanted to "overpay" I say "overpay" because it will cost us some picks, but in no way would those picks result in a better player/players than the ones we would get in that trade. Why not trade for one of those guys. We need a T and a G anyways. Hell, maybe add Merriman in the mix too. (I know he isnt as good as his pre steriod/ACl self, but he would still be the best LB by FAR on this roster) I think we should put everything on the table except for our first rounder. I say that because we need a QB and we have to hope that Luck declares, or we could take a chance on Mallet. Other than that, I would trade picks 2-7 or picks and Lynch or Jackson or Evans for McNiel/Merrima/Mankins. Thats not "overpaying". 2 of the best OL in the league and a much better than average true 34 OLB that all fill huge huge huge positions of need. No one could do that with those picks. Now, no way does that happen, but we could at least try. If we added one of them it would be a huge success.

Does this front office know how to make a trade?
High Mark replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Jets and Patriots seem to make a lot of trades. They are really active in FA too... -
I said this the day he was hired. I guess the Koolaid drinkers are starting to come to
-
Id rather trade Spiller or Jackson. Lynch is the only every down young proven RB on the roster. Why trade him?

Of Ralph in bed with Kelsay?
