  1. My daughters band "7 DAYS" is playing at the Bills party on Sept 16. If you like classic rock you are in for a great night. They book out just about every weekend and have been filling places to capacity. They play tonight in Langtree and were expecting a huge crowd and then next Saturday night they are playing on stage in the prime slot at 8:30pm for the "Taste of Charlotte". If you are in the area come check them out.

  2. I wouldn't be the best guy to answer even though I live in Charlotte now. I watch the Bills game and never go to Panther games unless of course Buffalo is playing here. My friends who are season ticket holders for the Panthers tailgate party all the time and they seem to have a blast. They post pictures every Sunday with them all partying it up with tents, booze, food, music, and eye candy. Lol

  4. ...maybe if he gets out, Cowlings is his UBER driver...........

It still shocks me to this day that no one ever talked about or asked why Al was never brought on the witness stand. You know OJ spilled his guts out during that long ride and Al I'm sure knows the entire truth to the situation.

  5. If you don't think there will be major starting players affected by this. I don't inow what too say. It could start with dumping #14 next season Kyles retirement possibly forced. Wood getting up there. Clay concievably leaving in 18. A new QB, it's a rebuild.

Just so far not a complete teardown.

That happens with every team; aging vets, guys making more than they are worth or players needing to go because they constantly fight the injury bug but it doesn't mean it is a rebuild. I would rather say we need to reload and like Eball said we have a lot of talent and some very good young players. I think we win at least 8 games this year and our stock is going up with the guys we now have running the show.

Y'all act like there is no salary cap. As if a team chooses not to pay players because they don't want to spend the money, rather than they don't have the cap room to dedicate all the money to one player. I guess you're all thrilled we're paying Dareus and Clay as much as we are. Should have paid Byrd too.

I'm not saying there is no way the Bills could have made room for Gilmore. And we have no idea if White (or Lattimore) can come in and play as well as Gilmore. However, I'm willing to state that drafting a CB that plays as well as Darby LAST year (not even rookie year) on a rookie contract, plus another first next year with better QB options, plus the ability to gain potential starters at WR and OL from the extra picks received, plus the money left to get other free agents at other positions of need is worth more wins than paying and keeping Gilmore.

To answer the original question, I prefer White over Lattimore even without the extra picks gained. In our division we don't need a tall/lanky CB. We needed one around 5'11-6' who can cover a taller receiver if needed, but can also cover the shorter slot guys because he has agility and not just straight line speed. We need a safety who can help with the tall receivers over the top more than a tall CB who can be a liability against quicker WRs, and one who may have an injury concern.

    well said

Panthers cut former starting safety Tre Boston

Hope he likes wings. We could use the depth.

Live in Carolina and everyone down here was happy to see him get waived and their sports radio station spoke today about how he could never be trusted, wasn't consistent and got burned often. They went on to say how thin they are at safety but that it was still a good move to get rid of him because he was that bad. I'm not a Panther fan and I always have the Bills games on so I don't know first hand but from what I have been hearing it doesn't sound like a guy I want on our team.

  8.

How well did the run game go when TT & top WRs were out?

If you think that Tyrod was a good threat to throw the ball then you must have been watching a different team. We were #1 the last 2 years in rushing and Tyrod hasn't been out of the line up much. To make your opinion even more invalid, Watson has missed 11 games in 2 years and we still ranked #1.

  9. True, but did you ever watch EJ play at FSU? There is a reason he wasn't viewed as a first round pick. Even his college coach basically said he wouldn't be a successful pro. It's one thing to miss on a QB, it's another to simply make a bad pick.

The poster is correct that QB's get GM's fired as well. You don't have to agree with the practice, but he is correct. That is exactly my answer for the OP. That is why the Pats GM still has a job while Whaley doesn't. The Pats GM doesn't have to do as well drafting as Whaley. He has more leeway because he has Brady. Whaley didn't have Brady, and as a result more was required of him to make the team a winner. The Pats GM doesn't have to do as much to make the team a winner. He has Brady. It's a bottom line business measured in wins and losses. No one cares how you get those wins. If you don't get those wins you are done.

How many teams lead the league in rushing 2 years in a row and score over 24 points a game and don't make the playoffs? He can't help if the Pegula's hired a piece of crap Rex Ryan who ruined our defense. Blame this on Whaley, why not the owners did... "ridiculous"

Well, to paraphrase Buddy Nix: if you have a franchise QB, you look like a genius no matter what.

    +1

  10. He drafted EJ Manuel, has said so in the debacle interview, that was his undoing. You draft a failure as QB and you won't last long in the league. All other picks are meaningless, if the GM selects a QB and he fails, that will be said GM's undoing or at least it should be in most cases.

This makes no sense and is old school logic. First rounders don't cost you nearly what they used too. I give him more credit for trying to find a QB rather than missing on one. He also brought us a ton of cheap Free Agents who ended up doing extremely well. He has brought more talent to the Bills than any other GM in the last 20 years or so. There are 4 reason IMO that he could have possibly been fired and none had to do with bringing in good players.

    1. Not easy to get a long with and not a team player with the owners and coach "rumors that he was difficult to get a long with"

    2. He had more to do with the Rex hire than perceived "I heard these rumors go both ways"

    3. Our New head coach simply wants to work with someone he is more comfortable with or knows "probably the reason IMO"

    4. Buffalo media bashed him so hard and had the majority of fans in an uproar "worst reason if true"

So the original poster is saying that it is easier for draft picks to win a roster spot on the Buffalo Bills, who haven't been to the playoffs this century, then it is to win a roster spot on the world champion New England Patriots. I guess that proves Whaley was a genius

Super Bowl team mainly because they have the best QB of all time. Buffalo has had far superior talent. Even that bum Hogan looks good with Brady throwing him the ball. Put him on any other team and no one would hear from him again.

  11. Last year's draft was a total trainwreck. 3 picks on an inside linebacker who people wonder if he can play 3 downs. An injured DE that they move to linebacker. A DT in the third when they should have taken the QB they liked and even then, got outplayed by DTs taken later by other teams.

I will agree to disagree with you. Lawson is now playing where he fits best and there is no reason to think he will not be a dominating player. Ragland was the top LB coming out of college and the fans will fall in love with the toughness and energy he brings to the defense. Washington did hit the rookie wall last year but I think he will be a very important piece this season as he will only continue to get better. I don't see a trainwreck draft at all.

  12. Whaley is fine. Judge him against the rest of the league. His failure is not securing a franchise qb, if you are going to judge him only on that he has good company.

The guy goes out finds talent that the coaches ask for and he works the free agent system well. The sammie trade hasn't worked out yet, so he has to own that. I still don't hate the idea.

  13.

it is the reality... it is an offense and qb driven league

I don't disagree with that but you said Donahoe new the importance of a QB and Whaley does not. First off, I think any GM knows the importance of a QB. Donahoe got Bledsoe who had 2 ok years left in the tank for a first round pick and he wasted another first round pick on Losman who he eventually replaced with Kelly Holcomb. So, in 5 years he wasted 2 first round picks for a QB and ended up with nothing. I honestly am not even that upset that Tom tried to get us a QB but to compare him to Whaley; you have no merit and you like I said are just talking out the side of your mouth like a typical Bills fan who just loves to complain and wants change. So again, what you stated is not reality...

  14. No other NFL organization would hire Whaley as their GM.

So if Lawson and Ragland are studs this year, Washington and Seymour are good starters, Williams becomes a solid back up running back and Cardale grabs the #2 QB spot and Listenbee contributes at WR then I guess you can all put the poor draft crap to bed and maybe finally give Whaley a little bit of credit. That was just last years draft. Let'

s go back two years ago and we have a starting corner in Darby, a starting guard with pro bowl potential in Miller, O'leary who is still contributing. Whaley can't help the fact that Karlos Williams, a stud rookie, has personal issues with weight and drugs. Dezmin Lewis is also still hanging around. Three years ago we have a potential star in Watkins, a solid lineman who looks to be on the rise in Kouandjio, a starter at linebacker in Brown, and a late round pick in Henderson that if he wasn't battling health issues would be an incredible find. I think Whaley hits way more in the draft than people give him credit for and does much better than the average team in the NFL. He also finds some nice free agent pick ups which has been well documented. Be careful what you wish for we could get another Terry Bledsoe, Marv Levy, Tom Donahoe or Buddy Nix.

  15. I must be the only one who doesn't think he is all that bad

    CBF

I am so tired of fans who just go along with whatever the media says. The Buffalo media hates Whaley and they won't stop featuring every bad thing they can come up with to knock him down. They were probably foaming at the mouth to bring up what Rotoworld thinks. Outside media sources only go by what our media portrays, they do not know the Bills and most of the time you get terrible insight. I'm with you Canadian Bill. I support Whaley and I don't believe hiring Ryan was his call. He is not the only NFL GM who has had a difficult time finding a legit QB, in fact most teams do not have one. I give him props for finding Tyrod and damn I hope he does well because then everyone's thinking on Whaley will change. IMO he has gathered more talent than any GM since the Superbowl glory days. He can't help the Pegula's brought in Rex and he put us through 2 years of hell. He made our defense look awful, his schemes didn't work and he was molding what he had to work his system. He was a terrible Head Coach and a buffoon.

  16. Also, most people don't want posting to be a chore. I recently used the Search functionality before posting and it returned over 20 threads. I looked thru to find what they were about and none were about my topic. Normally, I wouldn't bother to go thru it and I believe most posters wouldn't.

As you said, people need to just ignore the duplicate threads and stop whining.

I'm with you bud. I think there's a lot of people on here that stay on this site 24/7 and this is all they do. These guys think they are Gods gift and will put down a poster every chance they get. Then they say well I have 30,000 posts and you aren't even close. Whippie! It's called having a life and not commenting 100 times a day. For example, these same guys complain about a post but instead of ignoring it and moving on they put useless chat on the post and often have the most posts on the same chat that they actually complained about. Same guys, doesn't matter what topic is on the board they put their 2 cents in, funny actually. I wonder how they maintain a job and family. Personally I have read a lot on the draft and all the players of interest, still this post does not upset me. There's a lot of guys who just look at the posts on the right as they read the articles on two bills and don't have the time nor want to actually go to the stadium wall and scan through the other 100 posts. As far as Foster goes, I would be fine with him but I gave up having a man crush on any of these guys a few years back. You just have to trust that the Bills pick a special talent. There should be someone special in the first round even if they trade down and get more picks. We have no control over the draft so I prefer to just sit back and evaluate what we did after the picks are selected. I like Corey Davis but I'm just a fan, not a scout and he may not be the right pick. Just get us some ballers Buffalo and lets get this ship going in the right direction.

  17. No Rex Ryan; add Ragland who will be a stud LB; Lawson will be in his natural position; add a head coach who is level headed, has a clear plan of direction and who will make our defense with the help of Frasier much better and I would say this is far from 5-11. I think Tyrod could only improve and chances are Watson will play more games which will only help us offensively. I believe our kicker may actually win us a few games this season and our draft will only make us stronger. Therefore my glass will go in to this season half full and I think 8 wins is the worst we do and 12 wins is the ceiling.
