Gotta be honest.  I like the POSITION but not the pick, at all.  Way too high for Moss, and I personally think we could have landed him in a later round.

I'd have gone with WR Devin Duvernay, Texas.  Yes we have Diggs, but our other starters are over 30 and this in my opinion the WR's in round 2 were of better value.  Most of the WR talent are bon afide starting material, where Moss will never be more of a role player/backup.  Brown and Beasley are old and will start to fade, so it's very important to add youth to an aging position..  I see this as a missed opportunity.

Beane got a HIT by trading for Diggs, and then followed up with an extremely solid round 2.  Didn't panic and trade up, and got a very good EDGE rusher.

    Bad pick in round 3.

In round 4, I hope he redeems himself with one of the following (in order of preference):

    WR Donovan Peoples-Jones, Michigan

    CB Darnay Holmes, UCLA

    TE Colby Parkinson, Stanford

    OG Ben Bredeson, Michigan

    CB Lamar Jackson, Nebraska

    OT Prince Tega Wanogho, Auburn

    WR KJ Hill, Ohio State

    TE Hunter Bryant, Washington

    WR Juan Jennings, Tennessee

    WR Collin Johnson, Texas

CB Troy Pride Jr. Notre Dame

Beane said he was shocked that he was still on the board and was nervous because he wanted him so bad.  Hmmmm you think we reached?

    Ok.

Dawkins will earn his extension then. Beane will decide.
Spain pass blocks very well.  Now move people for the run. He is not strong at this aspect

Morse is good. But he cost a lot of $$.
Jon is fierce. And adequate most of the time

Ford needs to develop and is a key.  We traded up , and gave up a pick to get him.  If he is not a RT he is an RG.

Our line was good.  When they play great I’ll say it. But not until they do.

I will say this as well.  Beane is smart and if we had that bad of a line he would have grabbed a guy with one of the first two picks or made a bigger splash move in free agency.  I truly feel we have a very good line if we shore up the right tackle spot.  Josh Allen holds on to the ball longer than any QB in the NFL and that's a fact.  This obviously results in more sacks and more penalties.  This reminds me of when Rob Johnson was getting smashed for 7 or 8 sacks a game and everyone said our line is not good.  Then Flutie comes in and the guy gets rid of the ball in a timely manner and the sack numbers go way down.  I know you aren't saying we are terrible Bob but we also might be a lot better than most realize at that position.

Not saying we don’t want productive.
But I was hoping for an explosive home run hitter to take pressure of Allen so he doesn’t have to “matriculate” the ball down the field.

I was being rhetorical with what does Moss bring. I know who he is and what he does. I just think Devin does the exact same thing in “grinding” out the tough yards.

I’m positive I’m going to love Moss the first time he runs someone over or moves a pile. He’s a good player. I just wanted a different type of player

I think you will see the differences when they hit the field.  Moss gets us those tough yards inside the 5 yard line and those 4th and 1's.  I really think the homerun thing is very over blown.  How many RB's go 60-70 yards to the house, happens every once in awhile.  I want productivity, patience in the hole, vision, and quick feet.  Speed would be an added incentive but fast top end speed really isn't needed.

While I agree that the 2019 line was decent, it was not necessarily a powerhouse. But better than  previous years.

Dawkins may or may not be a franchise LT. This season will tell.
    Spain is adequate. Not great.
Morse is big money but I would rather spend that money elsewhere.
Jon F is ok.  Better backup than a starter.
RT - Ford needs to take over and dominate as a 2nd rounder should;  or he moves to gaurd and the pick is questioned since we moved up to get him.

    Dawkins had a great year

    Spain gave up ZERO sacks

Morse is an above average center but mentally he is very sharp and gets the line in the right coverage's, extremely cerebral

Jon held his own and played solid for us, also filled in nicely at center when needed

Ford needs to make a big jump in year two, hurt us often, wouldn't be surprised to see him get beat out by Tyler Neitzke or Daryll Williams

Not a fan of moss. Productive but not really excited about another running back that runs 4.65.
I wanted a home run hitter to backup up Singletary.
Devin already gets the tough yards. What does Moss add?

Im sure he will be productive. Just not at all the profile I was hoping for

Devin is not even close to being the punisher this kid is and he weighs 20 more lbs than Devin.  He is a great compliment.  Devin runs hard and is physical but this kid will run your ass over.  Buffalo will grow to love this kid, has a meaness attitude like Marshawn Lynch when he runs.  You asked what does he add?  and then you say he will be productive, well that's what we want someone productive.

I think point Whitlock was trying to make is if you’re gonna go chasing a prototype, better to chase guys who are Christian conservatives than these QB gurus.  But in the end you shouldn’t go chasing prototypes of any kind.

You gotta be a good coach and you gotta be authentic.  I doubt Belichik has ever talked about god to his players.  Wouldn’t be surprised if the guy is an atheist.  Ge doesn’t seem like a particularly good human being, but he’s a great coach and he’s authentic.

You might be right about Belichik, have no idea about his faith and no you don't have to talk about God when coaching; just because you are a Christain doesn't mean you have to bible thump but it will show in the way you treat people. Marv Levy was a believer but he wasn't a bible thumper.  His faith did show in the way he respected and treated his staff and players.  I don't think you have to be a Christian to be a good coach but I do think relationship building is huge when you want to have sustained success.  You can see why players love playing for guys like Levy, Reich, Gibbs, and Dungy.

God and faith has nothing to do with football.  Just ask Tim Tebow.

Tim Tebow was pretty damn successful. What have you done?  Lets compare it to Tim Tebow.  Tim played big time college ball, big time pro ball, big time baseball, and works some with ESPN.  Boy, if I had to ASK Tim Tebow I would think he would say God inspired him to be the man he is and I bet he thanks him for every accomplishment he ever achieved.  IMO God and faith not only has something to do with football but he has everything to do with life.  Just my 2 cents...  Totally not a waste of time, good video and I appreciate you having the guts to post this Protocal69 because you know half the fans who have an issue with faith are going to bash you.

Ed would look better if he had a true "space eater" next to him. Star isn't cutting it, despite what Coach and other apologists have said. It'd also help if Trent Murphy wasn't such a waste of space. We've got like 1 or 2 plays out of him in 2 years. I'm not bashing Jerry Hughes, but we could use some more out of him too.  DL is still clearly a need on this team, both DT and DE. Jordan Phillips has been playing well at least, we better get him resigned asap.

I agree with what you said.  Harrison Phillips was a big loss for us.  Our LB's our too small and don't do a great job shedding blocks.  Edmunds and Milano get swallowed up when lineman get on them. Star Lotulelei is under performing and he is not taking on 2 guys very often, which  you can see on the All 22.  Milano and Edmunds do a very good job at attacking gaps and using their instincts when they are working in space but if they get locked up they do not do a good job fighting those blocks off and that's really not a strength of theirs.  Good cover guys and good mobility but they need better help up front.  Oliver has been so so, nothing special to this point and only time will tell if his size becomes to much of a liability to overcome.

  10. This is a false positive.  If he was playing well throughout the game he wouldn't have to make a comeback.  The Bills defense is to good and we shouldn't have to continue coming back from deficits.  I'm not knocking him, love this kid in only his 2nd year and I'm glad he has steal nerves to be able to put his mistakes behind him.  Just hope he continues to progress so that he is ready to start burrying some of these teams. Love the attack style offense but Dabol could help him out with a few more runs during the game.

    https://www.buffalobills.com/video/brian-daboll-be-smart-with-the-football

I didn't like the game Daboll called so far as I could see (haven't had the chance to watch coaches film yet), but I liked how he repeatedly Cowboyed up in the presser and said "we've got to be better...that starts with me, I've got to be better" and "I've got to give him (Josh) plays where he can be smart with the football".

I especially liked his response to someone's question  "what identity are you searching for in terms of this offense?" and he said "Score points.  And take care of the ball."

Daboll's pressers kind of bring life the almost inconceivable notion that Bill Belicheck****** and Father Christmas had a Love Child.  Daboll stands up there all good-natured and smiley-looking and when you come down to it, he really hasn't said that much more than the Hoodie ever does, he's just more jollier-looking while he's not saying much.

What he says to the public and what he says behind closed doors to his players I'm sure are 2 different things.  He is being smart with his words in public because the fans don't need to know every thing that goes through his mind. He is not going to say something that sparks affect or controversy.  The dumb coaches are the ones who shoot their mouth off and run their mouths like Rex Ryan.

  12. Scary thing is that most people who use harder drugs such as heroin always come back to the fact that they started with marijuana which led them to want to take stronger drugs.  If marijuana is a gateway drug and we are in the beginning stages of it being legalized probably in many states what does this say about future drug issues in the upcoming years?  Just like alcohol they are not legalizing it because of its benefits but the governments are legalizing it for the riches brought to the economy. The all mighty dollar.

Releasing McCoy is a mistake.  Yeldon sucks as a runner.  Who is our home run threat now.  We have a bunch of power backs and a shifty but not explosive back.  I think they may not want to release Wade.

Wade is explosive but not ready to play in the regular season.

You can't be a part time back and make 9 million plus...  Beane said it will would have been a RB by committee even if Mcoy was on the team.  Beane dodged the question when asked about whether he tried to get Mccoy to take a pay cut.  I'm thinking this happened for sure, just my personal opinion.  If he said no to a pay cut then Beane had no choice.

Because it is the SAME thing......  It is a Chosen path.

I do root for them in life.  What I dont root for is their sense of ENTITLEMENT.  There does that make it sound better?

    For example this.....

His words "HOW FOOTBALL DID IT"  But then Profits off his Football Camps to kids???  Disingenuous isnt it?

It doesn't sound like you root for them in life when you say things like "Keep trying.  I Do NOT have ANY sympathy.  And I wont. "  Anyways, I have heard some things you have wrote about topics in the past that I agree on but just not this one.  It is obvious you have a thing for these guys making to much bank and basically this makes you not care as much about them and their health after retirement.  I think they make crazy money too but if it's not them then it would only be in the pockets of the owners.

After the fact no I really don't.  He stopped playing 6 years ago after making Millions.  Makes Money via a football camp.  So then goes on Twitter to complain because he is a FB it is taking to long or that he has to fill out paperwork?  Not to mention his Football Career allowed him to make companies. So what his solution is take to Twitter and go off on the same organization that will help him, but h has to follow procedures?  Or the Same organization that Gave him 11M to play a sport?  You right I dont give 2 craps about that, about a guy that made Millions playing a sport when....

22 Veterans a day are killing themselves suffering from the same issues, and NEVER seen a 10th of what he was paid.  Oooo the same people that could not have said No I am not going to fight this war without facing Prison.

You keep rooting for them on Sundays but not rooting for them once they retire; like I said very sad. And why you are bringing up the military is beyond me?  The military vets deserve so much more than they are receiving and no one is even arguing that.

I'm not even specifically talking about him and what he can or cannot afford. I'm plain and simply talking about having sympathy for people who had serious injuries and are disabled.  Justin Strzelzyk was a friend of mine and was a great guy.  I feel horrible for happened to him.  All that money he made means nothing because he is no longer with us.

And they will still still continue to make the choice to play. Just stop crying about your body hurting after the fact

I keep hearing you saying that you have no sympathy for these former players who have traumatic head injuries because they knew what could happen.  That is about as cruel as a person can get.  If a person gets in a car wreck and goes paralyzed I guess you should have no sympathy because people should know there's a chance they could be in an accident and get hurt. You either have a heart or you don't and you sure don't. You are a passionate fan and I have seen many posts by you but you don't give 2 craps about the guys on the field, "sad".

    Okay, hear me out.

Marshawn Lynch played 3.25 years with the Bills.  He amassed 2765 rushing yards and had 17 TDs.  Averaged 64.1 yards/game.  Mind you ... he inexplicably had the ball taken away from him during his last full year there.

Cookie Gilchrest played 3 years with the Bills.  He amassed 3056 yards and had 31 TDs.  Averaged 74.1 yards/game.

I have always been a big Lynch fan and feel that he was rushed out of town for no good reason.  Had he stayed in Buffalo, he would have been one of the most prolific RBs in Bills history.

I think he's got a spot on the wall.

They got rid of him because he was one mistake away from the NFL giving him a major suspension and was nothing but trouble and you think they will save a spot on the wall for him?  NEVER

    https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/patriots/josh-allen-stat-gives-patriots-blueprint-beat-bills-week-16

This morning, I came across this article from NBC Sports Boston.  I was trying to find news on Josh Allen and saw a headline about a a “blueprint” to beat Josh Allen.

It’s clear that the author of this article hasn’t watch any Bills games, outside of the highlights on ESPN.

He says the Patriots need to keep Josh Allen in the pocket because he’s among one of the lowest ranked among passers.

What he fails to mention is that this was the same strategy employed by former Patriots DC Matt Patricia last week.  It didn’t really work and Allen was steady and competent, though not great, when passing from the pocket.

This is a common problem I have seen as a Bills fan - most people outside of Buffalo really don’t have a good grasp of what’s going on.  They read stats/ or watch highlights but have zero context.

I wouldn't say that Detroit did a bad job.  Anytime you keep a team to 14 points in the NFL you should win.  If we score 14 against the Pats I would think were in a lot of trouble.

Captnnegative would be a better name for you.  Harrison, Kyle and Lawson/Murphy & Lotulelei are a pretty damn solid group.  Our defense as a whole is very good and it starts up front.  Some people you just can't satisfy.  Let me guess you want a 12 sack pro bowler and because we don't have Mr. Excitement you don't think these guys are anything special?
