  1. We need to get some thicker skin. The writer's inbox is going to be full of poorly written, reactionary vitriol. That is not good for the brand. It'll only make the next article easier to write for this guy. Also, the article is dead on. I live in Buffalo. I love Buffalo. I do very well in Buffalo and have no plans of leaving. That being said...have you ever been to San Diego???? It's awesome. A lot of the people suck, but its an awesome place. There's no such thing as bad pubicity, unless it involves pedophilia. Or we whine about it.
  2. Gotta agree with you. People are so shortsighted. Does anyone remember when Green Bay played 3 home games in Milwaukee in the early 90s? It helped them to solidify their fan base in a much bigger market about 2 hours away. Sound familiar? As a 13 year old kid I could only see that Green Bay was so weak, they couldn't support their football team. I thought it was hilarious. Turns out it was a very smart move. But I was 13 and had no business sense. Now, I admit, the Toronto experiment has not worked in that capacity. But, that has more to do with a crappy team, boring games, a horrible stadium and a crappy team than the actual deal. If the Bills were good and Toronto actually cared, I would gladly give up one or two games a year to keep the Bills in Buffalo. Especially if we go to eighteen game.
  3. Froghair. It's the best combo of TVs, food, atmosphere and there's usually a few not half bad looking chicks walkin' around. It's about five minutes away from the airport on Transit. Brennan's has great food, but the TVs are subpar. Not sure if either place has the NFL ticket though. I bet Dave and Buster's does, but I can't stand that place. Froghair is cool if you're coming from out of town, b/c it's something you're not likely to find anywhere else.
  4. Well, I had a very similar thought immediately after the pick. I'm not saying we drafted Yao Ming here. However, Russ Brandon is too astute of a marketer to not at least consider the possibility that having a Chinese American on the team could help drive the Buffalo Bills brand. I'm not talking jersey sales, I'm talking about exposing a brand to a gigantic overseas market. There's also a population of over 3 million Chinese Americans living on our soil. Although, as I re-read your post, it seems to be dripping in sarcasm. Not sure how I missed that on the first read.
  5. Really? Mike Williams much? Re: Maybin, I don't look too much into mini-camp. Maybe they were just trying to get Torbor extra reps to get up to speed with the terminology and scheme. We'll know much more about Maybin at the end of training camp. He seems to be built for the 3-4, so I'm willing to give him the year to learn and show progression. As much as I question the drafting of a one year sack wonder, I doubt one year is enough to evaluate his career as a Bill.
  6. It's partly a union issue (voice performers) and partly a revenue issue. Most radio stations in cities the size of Buffalo and Rochester sell their internet inventory separately from their standard inventory and at a fraction of the price. If you're listening to nationally syndicated programming there's a good chance that inventory has gone unsold or is unavailable for the local broadcaster to sell.
  7. Liked Fight Club. Read Diary, hated it and never picked up another book by him again. His style is a little abrupt. Like Vonnegut without the talent. Maybe I'll give Haunted a try. They're usually quick reads.
  8. Maybe you should go back to school for doctorates in grammar, spelling and making yourself clear.
  9. Your calculator works. However, your understanding of percentages is somewhat lacking. By your logic 2 out of 100 represents .02%. 2 / 100 = .02. Right?
  10. Just to clarify... Journeyman - an experienced reliable worker, athlete, or performer especially as distinguished from one who is brilliant or colorful <a good journeyman trumpeter — New Yorker> <a journeyman outfielder>
  11. "The definition of insanity..." I heard a twelve year old kid spout that idiotic stream of nonsense yesterday. Regardless of how I feel about your actual comments, I can't get past the first sentence, because the definition of moron is someone who uses insipid cliches to make their point. If that's not enough, your narcissism has led you to believe that people actually care whether or not you interact on a message board and that they will read countless paragraphs of your pointless drivel. Honestly, how many people here made it through that nonsense. Oh, and for the DB who agrees with you, the metric for excellence is making lots of money, getting a hot wife and dieing happy. Maybe for you it's ticking off people, but for the functioning part of society (and this is for you too P-T-P) we spend lots of our time doing something, failing, getting up, dusting ourselves off, trying again, failing and repeating until we succeed. Both of you need to go to your bookmarks, click on any of the countless porn sites you have listed and pacify yourselves as the smart people around here enjoy pro football for what it is, a game.
  12. Here's a thought...conspiracy theory time... According to the Tennessean "Officer Shawn Taylor, who stopped Kazemi, also was the officer who arrested McNair in 2003. The charges were dismissed and expunged. Taylor, however, was disciplined six years ago for violating department rules by repeatedly asking McNair to take a breath test after he refused. Police also said Taylor violated departmental rules then by taking home copies of DUI arrest tapes, including one of McNair." Seems awfully coincidental. Did the cop have an axe to grind? Who better to frame a double murder as a murder-suicide than a cop?
  13. It would rank right after the four days that I almost won a million dollars. Obviously.
