were most Bills games on NBC back then?

NBC had rights to all the AFC games and CBS had rights to all the NFC games.  The only exception was when there was an inter-conference matchup.  NBC would cover inter-conference games hosted by an NFC team, and CBS would cover inter-conference games hosted by an AFC team.  That’s why CBS covered the Bills-Cowboys 1996 game in Orchard Park.

Thanks for posting. That's a crazy fact that Summeral/Madden only announced two Bills games.

yeah Madden had to apologize year after year for not putting Bills on his all-Madden team, saying he had to see them play.  Back then, CBS had rights to only two Bills games a year, where they hosted an NFC opponent.  It was probably a matter of threading the needle with madden’s madden cruiser travel schedule, given his fear of flying.

What would they change it to?  Offense gets the ball at the 1?  It can't be a TD.

only way to make everything consistent is to award the ball to the defense whenever someone fumbles out of bounds. This would add like one more turnover every three or four games, which is much needed.  Things are getting so boring with the mind-numbing ball control that goes on these days.

I thought so too... until you actually run through scenarios.  The teams they are in a race with have very easy schedules and because of tie breakers, you need them to lose 2 games if the Bills lose 1.  What's worse, is that even if ONE of the teams loses that needs to, they likely lose to a team that the Bills ALSO need to lose.  So the way I see it, the only way the Bills get in is if they win out.

10-7 missing the playoffs would be the ultimate disaster. Not quite bad enough to justify the house cleaning needed or for draft stock strong enough for a #1 wr, not good enough to make a run at the Lombardi in a year loaded with flawed teams.

Not that it’s saying much, but anyone else think Von looked at least a little more active out there today?  Maybe I’m just being optimistic, or maybe there were some glimmers of hope?

      He recorded two pressures on

Mahomes in the fourth quarter that forced incompletions.

I love how when the Bills make a mistake, it’s that the Bills messed up and lost a game they should have won.  But when another team messes up, it’s"we got lucky we had a call go our way"  They didn't call a PI on Diggs.  I don't give an F Von was offside.

  7. If we fall to 6-8, very possible even playing pretty well, I could see them trying to showcase Knox, and they should.  He was a top 12ish tight end and should be worth a third in trade value, though the terrible numbers this year have destroyed all hope of a third. Kincaid, on the other hand, will be a special player if he is not one already.  One of those rare players that defenses have to account for every play.
