We just need to force-feed Shakir who’s catching 90 percent of targets this year, diminish Gabe’s stats to the point he has no market, then sign Gabe cheap as our third.

I remember in the 90s I thought we always had the edge v. The Dolphins because of their weak D coordinator Olividatti who never had a workable plan. Sure a lot of teams are thinking Buffalo is no threat as long as Dorsey is here.

Shakir has outplayed him and is now the #2 receiver, #3 target. So all they need to do is feed Shakir so Gabe’s stats fall off the cliff, making Gabe very affordable if they feel like signing him to a reasonable contract next year.

Their off-season was an epic fail. Jones should have signed for 20 and thanked god for Daboll salvaging his NFL career. Getting blown out by Philly should have ended any thought of more than a bridge contract. After all they won only 9 games, with everything falling perfectly into place for about 7 of those. Instead Jones held the franchise over a barrel for a near max contract. To add to the mess Schoen allowed himself to get pushed around by someone with no leverage. All the giants needed to do was sign Barkley for 2 years, then franchise jones as the 1 year bridge, and they would have been 30-40 million better off than they are right now.

The gauntlet schedule is a blessing. They have no choice but to be focused or get embarrassed. If they manage to sneak in they will be a battle tested very-tough out.

McDs throwing Dorsey under the bus at the halftime and post game interviews was cringeworthy. Total lack of leadership. That’s why he’s lost the team.

Real question, WTF happened to Taron Johnson, it’s like he forgot what inside leverage is.
Safety is everything I was afraid it would be, two old men trying to keep up with athletic freaks that are at least 5 years younger than them and a guy who just flat out sucks. Oh and some special teamers.
McClappy has his work cut out for him with zero quality at LB (while Bernard is out), a bunch of sub par athletes at corner, geezers or whiffs waiting to happen at S and no pass rush or run stuffing abilities to speak of.
Mixon averaged 2.6 yards a rush and Burrow had 13 incompletions. The only way to force an incompletion by Burrow when he’s playing at this level is to have been in his face.

If they make a boots on run at it this year, like a ceiling pressing 5 point loss in the divisional round, they may be tempted to run it back one more time. If it all goes like it looks like it’s going they may be more willing to clean house. Which may not be a bad thing.
