  1. 2 losses to Pats

Split w. Jets ( I know you guys think you are far better but it will be very close and the Jets have the edge in coaching)

L to Browns (they are far better)

    L to Jags

    L to Chargers

    L to Broncos

    L to Arizona

Possible split w. Miami (although the odds are the Bills will won both- One will be a squeaker)

Best possible record- 9-7 (probablty won't be good enough to make it)

    Notes:

Trent has an average arm- All Evans can do is go deep

    Retread coach

I see the Bills splitting with the Pats (2nd game is the season-ender and the Pats likely won't have anything to play for) and sweeping the Jets (QB situation is still poor) and Dols (they're still at least a year away). I can see losses to the Jags and Chargers. But I don't see them losing to the Broncos, who will be bad this year, or the Cards, who are the Cards.

  2. No, I read that and I understood that. So the Guy that they said had a gun came out and said that there was no gun. Wow, what a shocker, a person accused of having a gun said there was no gun. Its an open and shut case now. My question was just about how that interview "Clears the Air"? I guess if you take his word 100% then you can say that, but I don't trust anyones word 100% that I don't know rather well, especially the word of someone who just 3 weeks ago was a college kid that many were questioning his character.

What about the word of a woman you don't know, who is 73 years old? Certainly there's reasonable doubt there.

  3. I hope not, but in my defense there had already been 2 QB's taken before Cutler in '06, McKelvin was the first CB taken. Willis's numbers were around par. I just see with the number inflations over the past 2 years, I wouldn't be surprised if it was an upper end contract. I hope not, especially since he's coming in to a solid 1-2 starting rotation.

It has little to do with being the 1st ro 3rd player at that position taken, as it does with being a QB versus another position. Usually non-QB picks get a slight raise over the previous year's pick.

  4. dark matter and dark energy are fascinating stuff. From my very rudimentary understanding, dark matter is the scaffolding that holds the universe together and is at war with dark energy. Dark energy is winning because the universe expansion is speeding up. Fascinating, mind blowing stuff. A Brief History of Time is the best book I have ever read

What blows my mind is asking what's beyond the universe, i.e. the areas into which it's expanding. The only explanation is that the universe is all that there is and there IS nothing beyond it.

  5. Lange is now the 2nd dumbest man in the world, after Fisher Stevens (who, you ask?), who dated Michelle Pfeiffer and cheated on her. And I'm not sure but Billy Joel might have cheated on Christie Brinkley, which would make him 3rd (he's a singer so he can still get hot chicks).

  6. Nothing happened.......I need to stay away from those situations...what situations...nothing happened remember

Please. By "nothing" he's saying "nothing major" happened. He probably had a heated argument with his father, hence the commotion drawing the old lady out of her house. Whether he pulled a gun out or not (there were no injuries on his father so there was no physical altercation) only he and his father know for sure, but both are denying it.

  7. Players get cut and sign with new teams weeks later. Coaches get fired and are hired to other NFL coaching staffs weeks later. This is normal. Thats how it is and how its always been. There is nothing wrong with that.

The Patriots are notorious for signing players recently cut by rival AFC East teams, so as to pick their brains. The Patriots therefore also "cheat" in the same manner the Bills do. Next!

  8. look at this...

Its only OTAs and already Losman is being a problem. Theres no way this kid is going to make it through the season without some type of whining or outburst. He's nothing but a team cancer and should have been cut yesterday,

Yeah, why couldn't he have beaten up his girlfriend and kid and/or pulled a gun on his dad like Hardy did, instead of choosing to do something good like cleanup the city.

  9. You appear to be conflating/transposing the fact of lying to the police (which you seem to think is justifiable because the hood adheres to a different moral code that has its own moral legitimacy) and the actual act (which was very serious) that precipitated the lie. In any event, he doesn't appear to be a very good liar -- he changed his story quickly and included implausible details in the initial story.

Amazing, domestic abuse and lying to the authorities to cover yourself. Maybe Hardy can run for public office?

This issue is now closed for me. I'll wait for Hardy's impending shooting spree to occur before I call for him to be executed.

  10. Like I said, the facts in the case that I listed above were not in dispute. He even admitted to choking her after her initial story about a "friend" doing it a few days before. And his initial claim that a 1-year old broke the phone would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic. In the Duke case, the facts were in dispute. Comparing the two is sophistry.

No one is "excusing" Hardy's incident with his girlfriend. It was unfortunate and as far as we know, a one-time thing during a 9-year relationship. If there are any more incidents that have been covered-up, then that changes things. People can change, just like most people are claiming when it comes to Hardy's father, whose past is far worse than Hardy's.

  11. the real question with hester vs parrish is whether its worth it to gain 3-4 TDs per year in exchange for the half dozen times hester is gonna put the ball on the turf, potetially giving up 7 points the other way.

Until you mentioned it, I didn't realize that Hester has fumbled 15 times the past 2 years.

  12. Damn F'n Skippy on that one.

You abuse my animal in front of me, you're done riding for me....and if you caused my horse any physical harm, you better run.

Sort of like if you beat women and children, I'm not as apt to believe your story next time out.

So wait, we know about Hardy's past. We know about the father's truly troubled past. What about the 73-year old "witness?" Maybe she was drunk when she saw it all? Maybe she is a habitual liar? Maybe she's half (or completely) blind? Why the BOTD for her and the father, but not Hardy?

  13. hey

    sachin seth here.

you guys should cool down. my facts are right. the stuff u think is wrong was changed by the sports editor who thought what he knew was right. i changed it back, changes should be up by tuesday.

And yes to the last post, i submitted it for grading, got a 90% and got is published in the campus paper. Ryerson is the best Journalism school in Canada so I think I know a bit more about reporting and the importance of truth in news than you all do.

So thanks for the nice wishes. And btw, your team is going to move. deal with it. Yea I know you are buffalo fans and you think it won't happen, you think RWS will be there forever and so will the Bills. They won't, they'll leave soon. Call me when you come up to T.O to watch a Bills game in a few years.

And cool it guys, douchebag isn't constructive criticism. If you want to show that you're civilized, act civilized.

The biggest hurdles to moving the Bills to Toronto (forget an expansion team since the Bills own a good portion of the Toronto viewing territory) are a) building a stadium that is NFL worthy, which will cost well over $700M and b) paying the relocation fee of about $300M, on top of the price of the team of about $800M. If Rogers et al are willing to pony up that kind of cash ($1.8B, and I'm being conservative), then it might happen. But there is supposed to be a group willing to buy the Bills and keep them in Buffalo who will make every effort to keep the team there long-term, needing only to spend the money on the team (they'll probably ask for the county to pay for major upgrades to RWS, but not a new stadium). The NFL would definitely sell it to that group rather than face the intense backlash over moving an established US team to another country. Now if they can't get that to work, then possibly a sale to Rogers, who will have to pay even more as the costs to build a stadium, buy the team, and move it rise.

  14. No, I am trying to argue common sense BECAUSE HARDY HAS ALREADY BEEN INVOLVED IN MULTIPLE CRIMES, ARRESTS AND SUSPENSIONS.

I have to say that you've really put yourself out there, DD. Now all we have to do is wait for Hardy to screw-up again. Let the countdown (countup?) commence!

  15. I've no idea what you're jabbering about.

    You don't say.

Is "being lazy is the same thing as beating women and drawing firearms" your briliant follow up to "pulling a gun isn't violent"?

    You're on fire......

When you know me, then you can talk about what I would or wouldn't have said. Simple generalizations (your brilliant "if this were a Dolphins or Patriots player..." comment) will get you burned.

  16.

That is why I am so pumped about this thing. If it was simple denial that is one thing, but I am having a tough time understanding if some here believe their own BS...or are just sticking to their guns in a pure homerism defense. Either way, it is alarming and takes a little fun out football when I see some of the names defending the guy in this thread.

The only people I expect to coddle Hardy at this point are Molson2002, and possibly any other schoolgirl going for a liberal arts education. To dismiss Hardy's actions by blaming it on his childhood is an insult to about 50,000,000 other Americans who have lived through similar circumstances yet somehow find a way not to beat multiple members of their family. Maybe when Hardy kicks a puppy over Niagara Falls we'll get a little common sense here.

Well since you're bringing this up, as long as Hardy didn't do anything to take him off the football field, how does this incident (or his earlier one with his girlfriend) affect you? Does it embarrass you? So what? He plays for your favorite football team and that's it. It's not like he's you or that you're condoning his behavior because he's on your favorite football team. I'm sure there were more than a few Bills players you've disliked (and had the internet been around for most of Bruce's early career...) but who you tolerated because they were good players, or even co-workers.

The notion that pro athletes are role models died with that Charles Barkley commercial. Or it should have. I don't care about what Hardy does off the field just as long as it doesn't take him away from the field, and as long as he produces. I don't care if my boys read that he beat-up his girlfriend or brandished a gun. If they had a problem with it, they'd come talk to me. They wouldn't start emulating that behavior because I taught them differently.

And I look at JP for the flip-side of this. Here is a guy who bought a house in downtown and had made efforts to clean-up the city, but people treat him like a red-headed stepchild because the Bills have been bad while he's been a starter. Why the double-standard? I think you know why.

  17. Is he bringing his gun to Buffalo?

As much as most posters on this board exhibit blind homerism, Hardy is a time bomb waiting to explode.

There were concerns raised about his off the field conduct before the draft. It has been less than a month after drafted and he hasn;t even signed a contract, yet the rumors of his questionable conduct and judgment have already been confirmed.

It's only a matter of time before he gets involved in something serious.

Well if it's going to happen soon, hold your breath until it does.
