It all starts at the top. At least that's what I've heard are the Bills' problems.
-
Please welcome your new LA Jaguars!

To paraphrase Allen Iverson, "I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about OTA's, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about OTA's."

I just saw a SmartCar in person in a Lowe's parking lot tonight. All I have to say is, NO THANKS!

You may as well ask Congress to kick their own teeth over nothing that aids them. None of them are jumping on board with the 'ole Waffle. They stuck their fingers in the wind, and detected no compelling breeze.
That (whether they want to do something) is another matter entirely (from whether they should do something).
-
Doesn't sound too different than any other industry, other that they don't sell you a tangible product. But they still sell you stuff on the guise that everything is on the up and up. To me there's no difference in Congressional involvement to clean up mobbed up operations or any other scams that defraud consumers.
Bingo.

Not saying they're users...
I am. It's no surprise that the Patri*ts have taken castoffs from other teams and those players have suddenly found the fountain of youth. And Belichick is a proven cheater, so I believe he's tried every cheating angle. It's no coincidence that the team came out of nowhere and beat what most people thought were better teams in the SB, and then when they clearly had the best team in the SB, lost. The difference was cheating by videotaping.

How many teams starting LTs were not acquired in a draft?
I'd say most of them drafted them. The Bills didn't. But what does that have to do with starting caliber backup LT's?
-
Which teams have starting caliber backup LT's?
-
One quick question though, if they were caught cheating after the first game against the jets, and their success is because they cheated and knew the opponents plays before hand, how come they still made the SB, with it being their only loss?
The answer is simple: they had the most talented team in the NFL last year, unlike the previous years they won the SB. No one claimed that they won ALL of their games by cheating, but a good number they did, including the SB's.
Ask yourself whether the Patri*ts still illegally videotaping signals would have led to a different outcome in the SB. Hmmmmm.

I kjnow this is difficult for you to comprehend.
My point is the Bills have failed for the last 10 years to draft OL. They have relied on trying to find diamonds in the late rounds or UDFA or by overspending on free agents (most of which have under-performed)
LT is the 2nd most important position on the team and should be treated as such.
Although the Bills finally conceded their past strategy was a huge failiure and overspend to buy an OL last year, they have no one on the team capable of backing up LT. It would seem prudent based on the last 10 years of history, that the Bills could have squeezed an OL pick into the draft prior to the 7th round. They can't even move Butler to LT in an emergency because replacing him with Preston of the Yukon creates a black hole in the middle of the line.
The Bills are willing to rely on Chambers, Gaddis and converted TE Matt Murphy to take on the premier pass rushers in the NFL if Peters gets hurt (which he is right now). If forced to play, the Bills will need to shift the TE help from Walker to the left side and keep backs in as well which will totally cripple the offense again.
It is clear you can't totally replace Peters with a like talent.
Price was quite functional in this role a few years back, but they have nothing now.
you, Ramius and the boys agree wholeheartedly agree with this short sighted philosophy of ignoring the OL - unfortunately, I disagree.
Why can't you answer the question? Name even just ONE backup LT on another team that could be a starter elsewhere, or where the team wouldn't suffer a significant drop in production. I'll give you the counter example of the Colts, who had NO backup plan for Tarik Glenn's retirement, and had to draft and start a 2nd round LT last year.
-
Valid point. That isn't the way it works.
He's asking o_w about all the alleged starting-quality backup LT's in the league, which the Bills lack and have failed to address for years. So far he's avoided the question ever since I first posed it.

Why get a Smartcar when you can get a Prius, which is bigger and gets better gas mileage, for about the same price? Plus no wait.

Hopefully more players speak out.

I think that with the fact that he signed his deal while he was still a RT, was then moved to LT, and became a Pro Bowler, he merits a new contract.
-
Probably Devin Thomas.
-
The only thing i am getting sick and tired of hearing is all these things "were of minimal benefit"
Yeah, that's why he kept doing them for 8 years and even after getting warned.
-
Unfortunately for the Bills, he's one of the best LTs in the game, and good LTs are hard to come by. He holds the cards. Pay the man.
"Unfortunately?" If anything, the Bills are very fortunate to have him, and to be able to keep him (new contract or franchise tag).

Hopefully this one won't be as crappy as his last few "films" have been. Seems like he's done nothing but go downhill since The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable.
Too true. Actually I thought "Unbreakable" had a good concept, but the storyline was weak. The movies after those were bad, real bad (I didn't even see "Lady in the Water.").
-
Shouldn't that be "charasma?"

Just as the positives were throwbacks to the earlier Indy films, the negatives were too. My biggest problem with Crystal Skull, just like with the earlier films, was the constant requirement to suspend disbelief. And I'm not talking about suspending disbelief about ancient tombs or paranormal forces; I'm talking about suspending disbelief about basic human nature and basic laws of physics. Every action sequence is way too long, primarily because of the dumb things the characters choose to do (or not to do) and because the physical laws of the universe just don't apply. The first thing I said to my wife when the lights came up was, "My disbelief suspenders are exhausted!"
I didn't find that "Raiders" or "Last Crusade" were outlandish, but "Temple of Doom" was truly insulting and pure crap. If this is on that order, I might have to wait to see it.

If there is any question at all about Peters health, the Bills are even more arrogant than orignally thought for not pursuing a legitimate option at LT.
Okay, let's go with this brilliant logic. I'd say that QB is more important than LT. So the Bills should have drafted a starting caliber QB just in case Trent gets injured, before drafting a LT. Then they should have drafted that backup LT. Then the next pick should have been a backup punter in case Moorman gets injured. Then a kicker. Then...

Like I said, the 2nd dumbest man in the world. Outside of bigger boobs, she's a far cry from Shania.
