  1. What more do you need to hear? The PFW headline says it all.

Solid play of Bills' O-line leaves Peters with few options

If the Bills starters can run the ball successfully against Indy then Peters has nothing to bargain against.

He gambled and he may have very well lost!!!!

  2. This is a HUGE if, but New England does not have a decent backup, in fact he's pretty terrible. If more teams employ the Giants strategy against the Pats, it's possible that Brady might miss some time this year due to injury, most QB's do. If, and it's a BIG IF, this happens, I see them as a very beatable team. They looked dreadful against the Bucs. No Brady = very beatable team

WHATEVER YOU ARE SMOKING SEND ME SOME because that's a Pipe Dream

  3. Just some clarification: The quote came from BillsDaily which got their report via WGR.

Peters Getting Ready To Report? The Bills continue to have little or no contact officially with holdout tackle Jason Peters. WGR is reporting that Derrick Dockery has been communicating with Peters through text messages. Dockery said he thinks Peters will report soon.

With no apparent timetable on Peyton Manning's return from knee surgery

Coach Tony Dungy said Manning has started lifting weights and throwing.

Rookie tight end Tom Santi, a sixth-round pick had surgery to remove an infected bursa sac in his knee in June and has been on the PUP list since July 24.

Manning had the same surgery as Santi on July 14, and the Colts have been watching Santi's progress to establish a better timetable for Manning's expected return.

Santi started running this week, and Dungy believes he could begin practicing next week. The Colts figure he is two weeks ahead of Manning, but Santi has declined to answer questions about his rehab process.

  5. Isn't there a chance that if the Bills demonstrate to the league that they are going to have a legitimate chance this season at the playoffs (as they did last night), that Peters is going to want to be a part of that? Not to mention he has to be down 100,000 grand in fines by now. I agree the line held up, but that just makes me more frustrated because its more obvious how strong of a team we have this year. If Peters shows up and the line gets some much needed depth, I think we have a pretty legitimate shot.

Isn't it amazing how this conversation changed in 5 days.

31 rushes, 5.1 yards per attempt. Total 159 yards rushing, and no false starts.

  6. Does it make you feel good to blast this kid an hour before a Bills football game? Even if every nasty word you say about him is true, JP is a proven bust; a sub-par NFL qb.

    Enjoy the game.

    Tell it like it is.

Edwards lead the Bills to a 14-0 lead against the 1st srting Steelers. (minus a few with boo boos)

He did what I wanted JP to do to the Steelers in week 2 of last season.

    Compete against PLAYOFF TEAMS!!!

  7. It was only preseason but a huge improvement from 5 days ago. Maybe Juaron had it planned this way.

To the Edwards detractors, come out come out where ever you are..

OFFENSE: Quarterback Trent Edwards, who played two rather fruitless series in the preseason opener at Washington, played two rather spectacular series against the Steelers as he completed 9 of 11 passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns to tight end Robert Royal.

DEFENSE: Two starting QB's on opening drives ... 2 Buffalo INT's

When Buffalo took the field following the kickoff, the second-string unit was still staring at Roethlisberger and the Steelers' starters, and it was a mismatch. Roethlisberger, who was 9 of 11 for 142 yards, hit Hines Ward for 24 yards as the veteran receiver schooled rookie corner Leodis McKelvin on a deep slant.

ST's: McKelvin, Buffalo's first-round draft pick, electrified the crowd with a 95-yard touchdown return on the ensuing kickoff.

  8. I get home from work, watch the game I recorded on NFL Network and see Robert Royal be HUGE in the redzone for our team. Here I am thinking sweet, FINALLY the man I want at TE will get some RESPECT. Log onto Twobillsdrive.com and see nothing.

Im telling you all right now, Royal is the TE for this team! I have been saying it for a while now. Hes the starter! I still think he can stretch the field better then you all think. Plus with Hardy out there now, I think it opens a little more for Royal in the middle.

Dont think im crazy for saying this, but I can see Royal having 8 plus TD's this year for our team, as long as health is not an issue for him.

Go Bills & Thanks to Robert Royal for proving he is Buffalos TE!

I was pissed last night.. The NFL network in the DC area showed the SD Chargers Cheerleaders..

That is the one thing I hate about the NFL Ticket.. They don't air Preseason games.

WRT the game from the highlites I saw it as nice to see a TE being used successfully again.

  9. FAQ Access Card.

You have received a conditional access card (referred to as the Access Card) and a License Agreement governing your use of the Access Card while you are receiving our Service. Access Cards are nontransferable and are the exclusive property of DIRECTV. If you tell us that the original Access Card was lost, damaged, defective or stolen, we will replace it, as long as there is no evidence of unauthorized tampering with or modification of the Access Card and your account is in good standing.

It does not say if your card is damaged they will send you a new box.

  10. I know TE will have limited playing time but it would be nice to see him lead the offense to a TD. At this point I don't care if it's a Marshawn dive from the 1 yard line, or a 40-yd TD pass to Evans. I just want to see this offense, led by Edwards, score a TD.

    Is that asking too much?

I'd settle for sustained drives of around 8 minutes. And a TD to top it off would be nice. .

  11. I've got a friend here in Atlanta who comes over to watch Bills games on my NFL ticket.

He's got Directv already. Cancelled his ticket since it's gotten expensive and he comes to my crib anyway.

I'll be in Buffalo for the opener.

Anyone know if I can give him my DVR to use? Any problem just hooking it up to his DTV cables/dish?

Unless you have completely different units, you should just be able to give him your access card.

But you can't test it out for a few more weeks when they activate the channels

  12. Look, I'm not concerned based on last night's game. It was a first-preseason game against team that already had a game in the books (didn't that happen last year, too?) So, 1/5, whatever.

I'd just be happier if I spent the game saying "Well, I know it's preseason, but damn these guys look good" instead of "Well, at least it's just preseason." We've had such a paucity of regular and post-season excitement, at least we could get a little in August.

For those who LOVE to attack before checking stats

    Preseason results Buffalo Bills

    2001 2-2

    2002 0-4

    2003 3-1

    2004 1-3

    2005 2-2

    2006 1-3

    2007 2-2

  13. Spending both a lot of time in DC and in Buffalo, the last two days I've had the joy of listening to sports radio around DC and Buffalo following basically a meaningless game. In DC it is amazing how they twist every negative into an obvious positive and have basically convinced themselves that their team is a legit superbowl contender. Caller after caller calls in praising their team and pumping themselves up - Colt Brennan is a future stud, 3rd string running backs are future stars, etc. Basically Bills fans in Buffalo seem to have the exact opposite reaction. Disparage the team, the qb, call for everyone to be fired, write off the season. All this for a meaningless game that was tied at the half.

I'm not sure which is more irritating.

The DC AM sports guys are a bunch of homers. They always expect a win. Unlike Rochester Radio Boob Matthews who calls it like he sees them.

Last year all you hear in the week wht Bills played them was how bad Buffalo was and how easy the Skins would win the game

    ----------------------------------------------

And what about Theisman masterbating everything Redskins duting the game??? I muted the audio frequently.

These people are supposed to be unbiased.

  14. Thank god the front office went out and got us Gibran Hamdan, because Ken Dorsey showed what happens when your team lacks chroise. Eight straight incomplete passes to end the game, all of them in the red zone. If it came down to a showdown of third-QBs, I know who would win.

Seriously, I know he's a third QB, and everybdoy playing is a backup, and it doesn't count, and it's the preseason, but Dorsey had the worst quarter of quarterback play I've ever seen.

I actually thought this would be a meaningful commentary.

YAWN!!!! if the Bills brought in Favre .. your chroise hero would be history.

Go and look up the article in the D&C.. Even Hamdan knows he's never getting to be more than a practice dummy.

PITTSFORD — Gibran Hamdan never seems like he's having a bad day.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound quarterback always has a smile on his face, and he carries himself in an affable way both on the field and off — pretty impressive considering he's the Buffalo Bills' clipboard-carrying third-stringer, a position that can be quite frustrating for a competitive athlete.

"It's an uphill battle, the spot I'm in, but that's part of the business and there's nothing that I can do about that," Hamdan said the other day during a break from training camp at St. John Fisher College.

Hamdan figures to beat out Matt Baker for the No. 3 job, but unless disaster strikes and Edwards and Losman get hurt, Hamdan probably isn't going to pad his NFL statistics, which consist of a grand total of two regular-season passes thrown during stints with Washington, Seattle, San Francisco, Miami and Buffalo dating back to 2003.

  15. I just had a bad thought that if Trent somehow played very poorly the first couple of games would the fans and media start calling for him to be benched? How long of a leash do you think he should get? I would hate to see him benched too soon with no *good* alternatives waiting in the wings but I would also hate to see the Bills miss the playoffs again.

By *good*, I mean consistently good, not does one good thing followed up by one or more extremely costly bone-headed things. Not naming any names or anything.....

How is that any different from Losman losing 4 and 5 straight games in his 2nd season?

Let's not panic and see what happens.

Seattle and Jacksonville is the hard part of the schedule. Followed by Raiders, Rams and Cards.

If the Bills are not at least 3-2 then we should start to worry and look at what the real reason is.

  16. Hey genius read the opener for this thread and you will find we are on the page

Do you see the duplicity in your post? You singled out Collins when he's not alone.

The point is why whine and complain over and over??

Concentrate on the here and now.

  17. Nn, no and no!

Peters just resigned last season. If the Bils buckle in to his agents demands then every player that has a decent to good season will want a new contract yearly.

If Peters holds out and the Bills succeed (with a soft schedule) he's screwing himself.
