  1. Past hour
  2. I hope everything goes well for mom and the baby (and the dad, of course).
  3. I think I'd have a better chance of hitting the Powerball or Mega Millions than betting on DPOY for Miller. Epenesa would be a better bet as well.
  4. I’m good, I just don’t click on all the links put up here. I’m pretty darn confident in what he told me, but it’s now just a fine memory while he’s expecting his second child.
  5. So, here is one, look at the second set of stats and it has the rates of crime per 100,000 https://www.disastercenter.com/crime/uscrime.htm Here is another chart on it, if you scroll down a little https://www.axios.com/2023/12/28/us-murder-violent-crime-rates-drop I know there is an argument out that that almost exactly 20 years after 1973--when abortion became legal, crimes rates uniformly dropped across the board. Was that because of abortion or other factors, I know not, but they do correlate. Here is an article on the drop in crime: https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2024/04/24/what-the-data-says-about-crime-in-the-us/ How have crime rates in the U.S. changed over time? Both the FBI and BJS data show dramatic declines in U.S. violent and property crime rates since the early 1990s, when crime spiked across much of the nation. Using the FBI data, the violent crime rate fell 49% between 1993 and 2022, with large decreases in the rates of robbery (-74%), aggravated assault (-39%) and murder/nonnegligent manslaughter (-34%). It’s not possible to calculate the change in the rape rate during this period because the FBI revised its definition of the offense in 2013. _____ Can I add my general observations on violence in society? I think there is less acceptance of violence in general. We have anti-bullying campaigns now, which I not saying work or don't work, but just the fact the exist shows what society thinks, to a degree. There are way more protections for women now for domestic abuse--The Violence Against Women Act, for instance. I remember as a kid the Boston Bruins climbing into the stands to attack fans. That would be crazy now, as would many other outrageous acts of sports violence that are less tolerated. Gays are accepted and not simply made targets of violence. If you watch older movies, violence against women was common. Police violence against citizens is down, thanks to camera technology.
  6. At least we won't have to face Zach Wilson this season.
  7. I can’t wait until the sequel, 13 Seconds in Kansas City, is released!!!! in the meantime I’ll just drag my nuts through broken glass. They had 8 seconds left on the clock. More than enough time for a sideline pass. May not have completed one but they didn’t even try. Levy spit the bit.
  8. I don't watch indoor but I've watched some college lax (Maryland) the past few years. Just saw them beat Duke today to make it to the semi's next weekend. It's a fun sport to watch even though I'm not 100% on all the rules. I think our local indoor team is relocating off Long Island, but that's a non-issue for me.
  9. At age 28, entering his 8th year in the NFL.......I highly doubt it. These guys get pretty beat up in pro football and men peak physically around 25-26. That's why Marquise Goodwin kept faking injury with the Bills when he was trying to stay in track shape for Olympic trials. The NFL doesn't produce many TV "duds" but one of the biggest was the NFL "veteran combine". They had all these veteran free agents working out and they were putting up hilariously bad track numbers. Felix Jones was a 4.47 at 21 and 4.85 at age 27. https://deadspin.com/the-nfl-veteran-combine-is-the-saddest-1693107996/#:~:text=Former Cowboys running back Felix,You know%2C Rich Eisen time. And that was the end of combine testing vets....
  10. Please do not get upset - you got this all wrong. I was in no way insinuating that you were incorrect. I was actually more concerned about the accuracy of the web site.
  11. Yeah that was 100% a goal. I thought that was a bad call right away and the replay showed it was. I don’t know how they let it stand. But to be honest, I also thought it would have been kind of funny if Dallas lost due to a bogus no-goal in overtime. Give them a little taste of what Buffalo fans felt in the ‘99 Stanley cup finals, losing on that “no goal” in triple overtime… 😂
  12. It's KC, but come on. This has nothing to do with quality people. It's gat dam MJ for crying out loud.
  13. In his final home game for the Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, Marco Reus (who had also been playing for the German national team) bought beer for everyone of drinking age in the stadium (total attendance 81,000). By the way, Reus is considering a move to US Major League Soccer.
  14. When I watched live, I had a bad feeling about the kick. The Bills had struggled all game. It was a long FG for back then, and Norwood sucked on those and on grass. Five yards closer and I would have felt more confident.
  15. Not until the government can figure out a way to bleed every penny possible from each sale.
  16. Do you live in Seattle? Are you going to the game in October?
  17. I don’t fully agree with everything I think you’re getting at, but the last paragraph couldn’t be more true. It doesn’t matter what side of the legalization argument you’re on. I’m sure there was a lot of stupidity involved in this arrest. States that haven’t legalized aren’t going out looking for offenders. People get busted when they do something incredibly stupid. Things like driving around at 2am with smoke rolling out of their car windows. The type of stuff no one should be doing, regardless of the legal status. This type of obnoxious behavior is the stuff that gets people in trouble.
  18. The phrase "One nation under God" does not favor one religious viewpoint over another. However, displaying the Ten Commandments could be seen as indoctrination, potentially imposing one's religion and views on others.
  19. Get your tenses right. Do you have the link for the month my son was taking the class? He’s in his 30’s now. If it had been my other son, I might question it. I made a point of saying I was referring to the past. But sure, you feel free to try to make a point.
  20. I choose to look at that era as a never duplicated uninterrupted back to back to back to back run of AFC supremacy—one that not even the Chefs or Patsies have been able to do…our ability to get back up off the mat and push that boulder back up the next season’s mountain has always been inspiring. Look at it that glass half full sort of way and it’s not quite as painful imho. 🤷🏼‍♂️
  21. Don't let them disrespect you Tua, you're worth 60M to the Dolphins and you know it... Stick to your guns.
  22. According to https://driversed.com/driving-information/driving-techniques/making-right-and-left-turns/ it depends on the state if you can change lanes on a left turn. According to the web site, FL does not allow it.
