PromoTheRobot Posted October 24, 2009 Share Posted October 24, 2009 I am happy for this thread. I am also a Texans fan in Houston traveling to Buffalo next Saturday for the game. I am totally excited about coming to Buffalo again. I was there in March but didn't get to see much since some Bills players took me to Toronto. All of the suggestions of things to do were great. I am staying at Hotel Indigo. Is there anything to do socially around there or should I go into downtown? How can I get to the stadium from my hotel? I would also like to join a tailgate or two on Sunday. I will be in my Houston Texans gear. I am a female so I am hoping that I won't get harrassed much. I smile and laugh alot, plus I am tiny so hopefully I have that going for me. How is the weather there now? Forgotten Buffalo Tours These tours are a blast. Too bad there isn't one scheduled that weekend. You are staying over by the University of Buffalo North Campus. That area is all shopping malls and office parks. Not sure what there is for night life. If you are staying until the 5th, there is a UB vs Bowling Green college football game Tue Nov 4 at 7pm that will be nationally televised on ESPN2. For night life you will have to go into the city...Chippawa Street, Allentown or Elmwood Village. Or bring a passport and head to Niagara Falls, Canada and hit the casinos and ballet. I know because I worked on the remodeling of the hotel. You might want to see if you can change hotels and stay at Comfort Suites downtown (washington and chippewa) This is another hotel I worked on recently. Total remodel job. New furnishings, carpet, beds, bath etc. and there is morenearby places/bars that you can partake in. I'll see you game day if you want to park in a safe parking lot, Hammer's Lot. I plan to dress very warm...and want to experience the full 4-5 hours of tailgate fun in Buffalo. best advice pay close attention to the weather and dress (or at least be prepared for any possibility) if you have not heard it yet there is a saying "if you don't like the weather in western new york wait 5 mins" it's a bit of an exageration but you get the idea... check weather.com zip code 14127 and see what the forecast is like. if you plan to be outside for 10 hours in november dress for the weather. a good idea is dress in layers (or bring extra layers) regulate your comfort by adding or subtracting layers.. the main lots will open 5 hours prior to the gametime and there will already be cars lined up at 8am to get in. some of the private lots around the stadium (there are various private yards and grass lots) some of them may open earlier Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
