ExiledInIllinois Posted September 11, 2009 Share Posted September 11, 2009 This is BS: Hampton said "it's been incredibly frustrating" for wildlife officers to have to deal with the increased bear activity and have to euthanize the animals because people are not disposing of trash and storing food properly. The problem is that in general we are disposing our trash TOO WELL and TOO GREEN. One little slip up and one will have the bears right on top of you. Why the problems with bears that never have been in town before... Why now? The answer is that they are looking for man's leftovers that used to be thrown in open garbage sites... Those aren't around anymore and refuse gets transfered to other areas... The bears will look hard for somebody who slips up. Just my opinion.
