While I will never actually bet against the Bills (and in general think "strategic" sports betting instead of twenty bucks between rival fans is pretty stupid), I don't tihnk 10.5 is fair, and I don't think Vegas has realized the downside of the no huddle when overmatched. It gives more plays in which to be overmatched and makes the game longer. Bills teams of the past could have been solid at 10.5 not because they were better, but because they played a different slow down the game punt the ball deep style that could shorten games and lead to uninspiring 9 pt losses. So while I remain optimistic about the season, I think we might just get slaughtered in week 1 in front of the national audience. The good news is if you lose by 1.5 or by 21.5, you are still just 0-1 trying to get to .500 six days later against a beatable opponent. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If not for T.O., the Bills would never have been given that game in the first place. Think they're lighting candles in Bristol, praying that his toe is all right? I have never been so depressed at the start of the season as this. We are going to get killed. How can it be any other way? Seems to me to beat these guys we need: A relentless pass rush to knock prettytom around play after play. What do we have? O.K, how about a tough ball control offense to chew up tons of clock, oh wait, we're running the no huddle this year... and how is that going? 3 points? I see... how about a smart QB that can make plays with his arm and legs and can read complex defenses in a flash... well how about a smart coaching staff, smart enough take advantage of every weakness and to exploit the fact that we are playing a bunch of arrogant SOB's who do not expect to lose and may be taking this game a little lightly... like what happened to prettytom and his O line against the Gints in that super bowl thing. Who's on our coaching staff? Oh yeah, well how about a boat load of lucky breaks, some officials on the take and deus ex machina. It's awful, like we aren't even in the NFL anymore. Only good thing is getting the embarrassment out of the way early. Just heard that Bruschi is retiring tomorrow. Alphadawg7 Posted August 31, 2009 Share Posted August 31, 2009 My heart says take the Bills but my head says 10.5 points is simply not enough Based on what I have seen of the offenses of both teams, I would say there is a high probability that the Pats will win by more than 20 points... If the line was Pats -20.5 I would still put my money on them for this first game...we may give them a better run in our next meeting once our team has had time to gel more...but this first week I fear is going to be ugly Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
