NYS budget is already 3 billion in the hole

California's in the tank, New York's going down the drain...and now Obama is taking the "big spending, do everything government" to the nation at an unreal level. Now that's a brilliant plan!

Those Sarah Palin jokes just don't seem as funny now, do they. Seems like the elites in New York and California will need a handout from Alaska and the other "dumb" 47 states now.

I think the successful model to fix the problem is right before their eyes: increase taxes on the rich, and borrow money to spend their way out of debt.

Don't forget to "fix" unemployment by adding thousand more to the state payroll, complete with free healthcare and a rich pension that nobody is including in the current #s.

You guys forgot to mention increase consumption, force policies that are bad for savings, and increase trade imbalances and destroy manufacturing.

It's the only way we can survive.

Oh, wait... the green jobs are coming, the green jobs are coming!

Ah, not a problem!

Representative Louise (Weezy) Slaughter and her gang of legislative nit wits indicate that a high speed passenger rail system from NYC to Buffalo will serve as the economic artery that will pump life blood into the ailing economy of western New York. Just a few road blocks (no pun intended) like CSX, no right of way, little or no ridership on Amtrack at present, no interest among the hewers of wood and drawers of water in NYS.

Of course, ALL involved understand that a high speed rail system will NEVER be built, but that the real money is in the planning, consulting, studying, revising, etc. that comes before the first shovel is purchased...with federal dollars. Just try to quantify the number of meetings required to finalize the documents to initially ask the fed's for the first study dollars....

High speed rail in NYS will become part of the Legends of NYS Infrastructure series--A new Peace Bridge, Rochester's fast ferry and now high speed rail!
