By hinting that you're interested in Stafford (the top QB), other teams who really thought he would fall a few spots now may entertain the idea of a trade. If Detroit really does want to trade away the pick, there is no way this is a stupid move. If Detroit really wants Stafford, how is this a stupid move? They tipped the hat. So what.
